View Full Version : Druzzil Ro, Goddess of Magic

<DIV>Ok, I have some questions about Druzzil Ro. If you dont know who Druzzil Ro is, here is the description from the EQ1 site:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <HR> </DIV> <DIV align=center>Druzzil Ro - The Matron of the Art</DIV> <DIV align=center> </DIV> <DIV align=center><!--StartFragment --> Druzzil has white hair which is held back from her face by a massive platinum crown with a single white gem that blazes like a brilliant white star upon her brow. She is tall, youthful in appearance, with a resemblance to Erudite in skin and body structure. The Demi-Plane of Magic became the home of the goddess of magic. In its natural state, it is an infinitely expansive plane of perfect white and unblemished marble under a gray and featureless sky, though one would likely never glimpse her plane in such a state. Through the will of Druzzil Ro, her home takes the shape, form and features that reflect her current mood. Her plane is simply a canvas for her art. </DIV> <DIV> <HR> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Here are my questions:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1) How did the Goddess of Magic affect magic as a whole.</DIV> <DIV>2) How did her Clergy work? Were her Priests typical Clerics, or were they in effect, replaced by magic users?</DIV> <DIV>3) Was Druzzil Good, Evil, or Neutral?</DIV> <DIV>4) Did Druzzil Ro have any temples, monuments, or icons in the time of EQ1/EQOA.</DIV> <DIV>5) Was her sphere of influence just normal magic, or did it include Divine 'magic'?</DIV> <DIV>6) Is there any events of the past linked to Druzzil Ro?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>and this last question is off topic, but anyways</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>7) Are there any mages and mage societys of note from the times of EQLive, EQOA, or sometime in Norraths past?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If there is any other information people have on her, that would be nice too. Since my main charecter is a magic user, im trying to investigate alot into mages of the past, their gods, etc. Any info would be appreciated. :smileyhappy:</DIV>

BTW, I'm glad to see more people chosing dieties for their characters, since it certainly adds colour to the game setting, RP wise.</DIV>

<DIV> <DIV>3) Was Druzzil Good, Evil, or Neutral?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think she might be more of a neutral deity than either of the opposites, seeing her behavior at end of the Plane of Time events.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just my thought.</DIV></DIV>

<DIV>neutral from what i can tell at the end of plane of time.  and she has the ability to control time, as she reverses time to put everything back in order.  not sure what other magic powers she has.</DIV>

<DIV> <DIV>Druzzil seems to be neutral. There were no temples/monuments to her on Norrath in EQL. I would think she was more arcane magic than divine. That's just how I see it though. It was never really clear how she affetced magic, and what sort. She was a minor deity and never talked about much. (She was not an option for worship by player characters, though im sure some might have roleplayed to be devoted to her.) Also, because of that, it isnt very known who would be in her clergy, if she even had one somewhere. It seems the most important part she played was reversing time at the end of the planes of power progression.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The Academy of Arcane Science (Freeport) and the Tower of Three (Qeynos) were mage socities that still exist from the time of EQL. Each city that had magic uses has it's own place of learning within the city. I suppose Erudin was the biggest, nearly the whole palace of Erudin was a guild for the magic users. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV></DIV><p>Message Edited by Kamimura on <span class=date_text>02-28-2005</span> <span class=time_text>09:12 AM</span>

<DIV>In either case, it was a let down. They could have at least used an Erudite model seeing as thats kinda how she is described. :smileyindifferent:</DIV>

<DIV>Druzzil Ro, I believe, is a Goddess of all magic types. She seems to be knowledgable and all powerful, however completely neutral in the aspect that because of her there is the used of everything from healing to disease magics. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This is much like the confusion between beings like Prexus, Karana, and Tarrew Marr. Tarrew Marr is the ruler of water, Karana of rain, and Prexus of bodies of water. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just like this, Druzzil has control over the powers of healing, which belongs to Rodcet Nife, and that of disease, from Bertoxxulous. However, she governs neutrally and simply keeps the balance of knowledge and magic in check with how things belong.</DIV>
