Seems to me that something isn't.. *right* in Qeynos, the land of the good. Why?A few things:1) I've noticed a lot of NPC's coughing all the time.. I mean a lot.2) Broken windows/boarded up homes, etc. 3) Typically the water supply for a city comes in via the aquaduct. So Qeynos has one.. but the water spills into the moat around the castle.. thats tainted with a giant metor from luclin, the same kinda of rock that is in the tainted pond out in Antonica4) The rather bizzare behavior of the Queen. Why would she CLOSE the Kinghts of Thunder down? The Knights are a force for good who follow Karana. However "By Order of the Queen" thier HQ was shut down? Why?

The arena is that way as well, but I figured that's because there isn't any PVP, but the Knights of Thunder (who existed in EQlive) thier "guildhouse" in South Qeynos is also closed "By order of the Queen"Its odd I tell you.. something is rotten in the House of Bayle! *grin*

<DIV>I believe the knights of thunder moved out on their own?</DIV>

The Knights of Thunder were corrupt. Their fortress was Stormhold, and look what has happened to it. Even in EQ1, Chesguard was a dubious character, and on the "bad" Qeynos faction. Now he's a wonking bad undead subzone boss that you get to from Stormhold (I forget the name of it). It's probably because of what happened in Stormhold that the queen shut them down.

For many years they were a respectable and admired force in Qeynos. After what happened at Stormhold however I don't blame the Queen for shutting them down within the city limits.

I'm scetchy on the lore, but there was an actual faction called "corrupt Qeynos guards," and I'm pretty sure they had a foothold in the Knights of Thunder even then.

<DIV>I dunno. I thought the Corrupt Qeynos Guards were friendly with the Bloodsabers, and the Bloodsabers hated the Knights of Thunder as well as the Priests of Life.</DIV>

The Corrupt Qeynos guards were most likly under the leadership of the notorious guard captain Kane Bayle, who himslef became a bloodsaber (or at least a tool of the bloodsabers) during the War of Plagues.Lots of info as it pertains to EQ2 can be found here: http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=lore&message.id=1743(in case people havent seen it yet <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> )

<DIV>Hmmmm In EQ1, the arena was the guild for warriors.  The Paladin guild was the UFO thinggie along with the clerics I thought? There was also a temple proper in another part of Qeynos, maybe they jsut don't need it now?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Not sure on the poisoned water but it may be, I've mentioned before the thought of Acrylia (the metal that was mined from the moon) being somewhat radioactive. Who knows.</DIV>

Now the Celestial Watch. There was another temple/guild hall (in South Qeynos in EQL), which was where the Knights of Thunder worshiped and practiced. Which, from other things in this thread, it makes sense that they were shut down.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Im not sure of Acrylia being the problem, but it is possable. Acrylia was used for armor, weapons, jewelry, and other things. The Vah Shir used a lot of it. I guess it could be that such a large amount over the years might poison the water.</DIV>
