Maybe I SHOULD know this ... but I don't and I'm hoping someone out there does <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />As far as I know there was EQ, EQL, EQOA, and EQ2. What is the timeline/lore between them? As in, if EQ2 is 500 years after EQ1, where do the other games fit in? I realize SOE said that EQ2 would have some independant lore for the sake of 'artistic license' and therefore not every little thing would match up, but I'm interested in knowing what crosses. Not necessary everything, but the big things, mainly a timeline. Gods, Luclin, Rending/Shattering, etc.Another thing is just that ... if the Shattering only occured about a decade ago, when did the original attack on the Nexus occur, and what transpired on Luclin in the years between? (I'm assuming that we have no way of knowing that since no one was able to communicate with Luclin in the interim.) Was the Rending before the Shattering? Seems it would have been early on, as the individual islands have become well set in the meantime. So in all this waffling, what I'm really asking is ... does anyone have a timeline of major events that make of the lore of EQ2, and if so, do these events cross over to any of the other games? I only played EQ1, not the others, so my personal knowledge is non-existant on the matter <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Thanks for any help anyone can give.Edit: Often, times in the lore are referred to as Ages ... Age of Enlightenment, Turmoil, etc. Anyone know which, how many, and in which order they are?<p>Message Edited by Kajirae on <span class=date_text>02-13-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:48 AM</span>

<DIV>First, EQ1, EQ, and EQL are all the same game. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>EQOA took place 1000 years before EQ2. EQL took place 500 years before EQ2. EQL took place in the age of turmoil. I believe EQOA was the age of enlightenment? Im not sure.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In EQL now the Gods are silent, because mortals have been running around their plains and killing their avatars. The Gods believe the mortals are too powerful, and pretty much everything else after is done to decrease their power. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The Dark Elves attack the Wood/High Elves on Faydwer. This happens a little after EQL as we know it. (Heck, it might be happening now in EQL with the whole Layns and Firiona thing, who knows.) They do quite a bit of damage, but are eventually defeated because the dwarves and gnomes arrive to help the good elves. The Dark Elves return home only to find out that their home Neriak has been sealed because of an attack by halflings while they were gone. (This is a lie though, the dark elf queen used it all as an excuse to shut off Neriak from the world and begin to take over the underfoot.) </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>(At some point the knights of Marr and the monks get tossed from Freeport as it becomes more and more corrupted under Lucan's power.)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The Nexus of Luclin is shut down, and porting across the lands stops. Rallos and Solusek Ro are behind this, but it is unknown exactly what caused Luclin to Explode a fun hundred years later.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The second Rallosian war happens now that the Ogre's curse has been lifted. They do quite a bit of damage, places like Gukta and Halas fall. Eventually the army is split up and part are moving in on Qeynos, the other part to Freeport. This is the battle of defiance. <A href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/lore.vm?section=chapter_09" target=_blank>http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/lore.vm?section=chapter_09</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Next the rending tore the lands apart.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Then, 10 to 15 years ago the shattering happenend.  This is a long long time after it was sealed off, so no one really knows why. (On the Qeynos side there was something called the crusade of the fallen I believe, the priests of life went about antonica getting all the bodies they could, which are now buried in the catacombs beneath the city.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I believe we are now in the age of destiny. The tome of desinty explains some of these things in more detail.</DIV> <DIV><A href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/lore_index.vm" target=_blank>http://eq2players.station.sony.com/lore_index.vm</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Kamimura on <span class=date_text>02-13-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:44 PM</span>
