<DIV>I was reading tthrough different sites to get some info to make a bio for my Erudite mage.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What I can not find is: what is the lifespan for the different races (and i'm very interested in the Erudian one).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Does anyone know this? or where to find info?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Since Erudians were once humans, they should live about the same....but because of their altered forms through arcane means...I suspect they will grow somewhat older then humans...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any ideas?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thx</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Tahu - Erudite mage - Splitpaw</DIV>

<DIV>Since Kerra are a "less civilised" version of Vah Shir , would their lifespan be lower? </DIV>

<DIV>I wouldnt think so, the Vah Shir were just a different tribe of Kerra.</DIV>

<DIV>I guess that'd mean that elves could be born even before EQlive.  Maybe during CoN.</DIV>

<DIV>There is an Elf in either the Elddar forest or Willow Wood(can't remember now) next to some gravestones. She will tell you a story of her and her sister that fought in the initial wars when the Faydark was invaded before the shattering.</DIV>

There is a pair of High elves in Castleview who send you on a run around uest for cash as a newb. in that story the male states how he used to live in Felwithe and that high elves live until (memory is foggy here) chose to marry and have a child etc. then they get old.. that's a load if i ever heard it butit's what he said.

<DIV>Also keep in mind that norrathian years aren't the same as earth years, so don't try comparing that way <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There are 24 hours in a day, 10 days in a week, 14 weeks in a month, and.... well, apparently Dondl Fuzzlecutter goes off topic or something because I was forced to cut him off there...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyways, differing from EQL, erudites should be living quite a bit longer (same as high elves' lifespan?) and Dark Elves will be living quite a bit shorter lives I'd assume (they don't have the depths and security of neriak anymore, and lack a Queen...)</DIV>

Also depends what class you are, I would cut those numbers in half if you are a ranger...

There is a thread here detailing it all.. </P> <P>Who knows what really happened to the Erudites, I dont see any reason to think their life span was kicked up that high, though nothing saying it couldnt have been either. As for the dark elf bit.. really now.. all races have been displaces from their homes, and their racial leaders (if they had one) seem to be gone. If such a thing would lower a dark elf life span, it would do the same for each other race as well. Heck, even humans and half elves, I mean the stress from everyone moving into their cities and all... :p</P>

<DIV>yeah well dark elves are really [FaarNerfed!] about traditions... moreso than any other elf, or barbarians... I mean if you took a dark elf family and dropped them near halas, they would all have a heart attack on sight... Or if you told them that the queen didn't exist they would kill you then die from starvation....</DIV>

<div></div>Since the only race who underwent a physiology change between EQ1/EQL and EQ2 was the erudites, it's safe to say the lifespan for all the races is the same now as it was back then.  Yes, the average lifespan almost certainly has gone down since the cataclysm since Norrath has become a much more dangerous place, but the maximum lifespan should be unchanged. As for the erudites, it is quite possible that their "evolution" has granted them much longer life, so they may closer to the elves in longevity.  Maybe even surpassing them. There still are two races left out of the old lore, since they weren't playable back in the EQ1 timeline.  Ratonga and Frogloks.  I am going to make a speculation here, and this is based on their physical size, diet and general status in the world. I am not taking into account magic, gods or any external factors. This is fantasy-science. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> These are only guesses.Froglok120-180As much as it pains me, I think Froglok live longer than Iksar. The good gods (with the notable exception of the dark elves) seem to have granted longer lifespans to their followers than the evil gods. I guess the good gods wanted experienced thinkers and doers and the evil gods want constant turnover and chaos.  Part of me thinks they might be very long lived (150/350) up there with dwarves, but I just can't in good conscience put them into the longevity category as the other Tolkein/D&D races without justification.Ratonga50-110This puts them just below humans in terms of lifespan.  I also think they would have the lowest average lifespan of any race considering their propensity for stabbing each other in the back.  Also, their voices are all high, squeaky and rather youngish sounding.  While the halflings and gnomes also have squeaky voices, there still is an element of wisdom and age behind them.  I don't really get that from the dialogue and voiceovers of ratonga.Of course, if there's official lore as to their lifespans, by all means someone post it! By the way, thanks to the original poster for asking this question and getting an answer so when I looked it up on the forums, there it was. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<div>Dont hate on the dark elves, seems they are behind anything that is evil on norrath, like the female dak elf behind lucan.</div>
