I don't Know if anyone else has taken notice, but in the Starcest Commune, on the fountain shapped like a vase in the centre of the village, there is the Mark of Bertoxxuslous. This seems odd to me since the plague god really shouldnt be promoted within Qeynos. And since the Bloodsabres worship this dark God i cant help but wonder if they are somehow based within or close to the Starcrest Commune or tied to the Erudites themselves._________________Egil Skalagrimson24 paladin - Oasis

That symbol has been around on Erudite furniture, decorations, and around their city for at least 500+ years now..

The Paineel Erudites worshipped Cazic-Thule in EQ1. The only real Bertoxxulous worshippers were the Humans in Qeynos and the Gnomes in the Mines of Malfunction in Ak'Anon.

So can we have a shout-out to the true soldiers of the Plaguebringer? In many ways, EQ1's Bertoxxulous defined the evil pantheon. While Cazic-Thule has his many cronies and relatives in a twisted family business, the Plaguebringer's been at it against Qeynos for the longest time solo. He's the one that made Surefall Glade separate from Qeynos, the one with eyes and ears throughout the city. I always envisioned the Plaguebringer coming to blows with the Thule clan like Aliens vs. Predators in a horrific battle that destroyed the land and ravaged the skies while the citizens of Qeynos hid in their cellars for a new day to fight off the weakened Plaguebringer. IMHO, Bertoxxulous has the best concept art of the EQ1 deities with his hunchback body and amazingly beautiful face to lure people.

The concept art. Bert's the best. Gotta love a guy with two X's in his name. Not many people can pull that one off.I loved the Qeynos catacombs in EQ1 and visited them often with my Gnome Necro and SK. Tried playing Human but just couldn't stand to be in-game what IRL. I wanted so much to get that rust-colored armor for the evil Qeynos Clerics but just couldn't stick with it.
Message Edited by Erethizon on 12-18-2004 08:37 AM

I always thought the evil humans were the most fun to play from a roleplaying point in EQL. (I was a human SK of Bertoxx). Just because you had to sneak around the city, and no one really knew you were evil just from your looks. I could never really get into the DE SK role (though I played one for 30 levels..), but I thought humans were great.
