1. a. The flow of combat in raids, having to sustain multiple debuffs while maintaining healing, all without going OOP.       b. Moreso a branch of number one, the number of different and effective debuffs we have at our disposal.    c. The uniqueness and potential power of a ward.2. a. I would like to see some type of AE or PBAE DoT. Not a big deal though, honestly, would just be more for flavor and killing  grey mobs then anything else. Of course, I wouldn't expect alot of damage on it.b. The fact that our DoT's are no longer on similar timers, and the further annoyance of a one second or so delay between the time the cold dot goes down and the time you can cast it again (duration vs. recast issue).3. I'm not sure I understand what you are asking, but I would say to be the best you can be, you have to have the capacity to both think ahead (when are my debuffs/wards wearing off, and when I should think about recasting them... will this mob resist, should I cast early? etc) and have situational awareness. Knowing when the best time is to use which spell is crucial; of course, I guess this is really the same for all classes.4. I've been a guild officer since my 20's, so very easy.  However, I don't really think this is a function of my class. I can't answer it.5. The seem to be about on par, with us on the more defensive side of the house, with them on the more offensive. Very similar playstyles from what I've learned in speaking with defilers.6. I am happy with my soloing capability. It takes awhile usually, but that is to be expected, as I'm not a DPS class. I have the ability to recover from adds and stuff hitting the fan alot better then most classes soloing. Currently I can solo heroics in the range of about level 58 (unnamed), drop a few levels for named. Of course, this can vary a level or two depending on the type of mob/abilities of the named. For the record, I am very well equipped and have most spells at master, so I don't know if my abilities are due to that or class strengths (probably both).<div></div>

1. What do you like about your class?     a) We are capable of playing main healer in a group.     b) Our debuffs have good flavor, although they are not as powerful as the EQ1 nostalgia would suggest. 2. What do you not like?     a) Our soloing speed is pitiful.  3. What kind of play style is best suited to your class?     a) Be ready to group.  We have a number of buffs that really help fighter classes, but dont help ourselves much.  And our solo DPS will just make you not want to solo.     b) We can do a pretty good job of decreasing the potency of an enemy mob.  It is more difficult to maintain debuffs on multiple enemies however. 4. In general is it easy to find a group?     I usually only group with my guild.  To this day however, the Templar I group with still gets 10:1 the number of tells to join groups.  And thats while we aren't LFG and are out in a full group doing something. 5. How would you compare your class to your good/evil counterparts (Defiler's)?     Quite similar actually.  The main differences are that defilers debuff a very slight bit more than us. <div><div><div>6. How do you feel your class does soloing? What is the highest lvl mob you can solo (i.e. yellow ^ or blue v)?     Pathetic.  Although we can usually kill a yellow or orange solo mob, killing any mob solo takes about a year to do so. </div></div></div> <span></span><div></div>

<BR> <BLOCKQUOTE> </BLOCKQUOTE> <P><BR>1.</P> <P>a.   good melee buffs.</P> <P>b.   wards are generally an efficient form of healing.</P> <P>c.   debuffs stack on raid bosses.</P> <P> </P> <DIV>2.</DIV> <DIV>a.    I would like this one addressed more than anything:   We are the single class out of the entire 24 who get ZERO effective regular timer spells that can either mez, stun, stifle, root, pacify, interrupt, or otherwise stop mobs from beating on us. Yet we get nothing such as a damage shield to balance this anomaly. It simply mystifies me (no pun intended).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>b.   Our only heals that can be cast in under 2 seconds are the emergency wards on a 15 minute timer. Too Slow!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>c.   Stackable debuffs are pretty much useless in single group content. I usually get time for one scream of the ancients and one aoe,  dots are largely worthless since they dont run full course, thus the priests with larger aoe on longer recast get a huge advantage since you only get to cast one per fight anyway.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3. in a group where the mob lasts more than 30 seconds and extra dps is not important. So probably mostly raiding.</DIV> <DIV>4. i tend to group in guild.</DIV> <DIV>5. they are better soloers and have some more situationally useful spells.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>6. Soloing is simply not fun. (See 2.a and couple it with low dps.) This is highlighted very much in duelling where we are the melee classes number one punching bag, because we have no spells to prevent them from wailing on us long enough to actually kill them. When my melee friends duel me its called "kick the tortoise". For pitys sake give us some form of minor stun/mez/root or a damage shield!!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thank you for the discussion.</DIV>

<DIV> <DIV> <DIV>1. What do you like about your class?</DIV> <DIV>     a.  After the healer balance I really can keep a group alive and increase the level of creatures they can confidently attack.</DIV> <DIV>     b.  Ability to proactively heal not just reactively.   By warding the player I anticipate will get agro,  I can sometimes prevent catastrophy before it ever happens.</DIV> <DIV>     c.  Ability to make an entire raid break out in laughter by transorming into a beaver thats bigger than my great stag form. (fluff spells)</DIV> <DIV>     d.  Did I forget,  I can group cure and ward against what seems the most common AE effect.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. What do you not like?</DIV> <DIV>     a.  Untill some of the post 50 spells, Its difficult to recover if players that you didn't expect to get agro get it and some direct healing is required in addition to the protection of wards.    This really isn't nearly such a problem once you get badger and torpor.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>     b.  Although the party knows they are doing more with my protections,  my participation can go unnoticed,  the tanks health bar just sits there and some don't realize I'm working hard to maintain that stationary,  or only small changes.   Parsers say I've done nothing,  perhaps some piddly dps and seldom any healing,  because only the person being protected by the ward can see the messages indicating protection the ward is offering them.  Example,  the monk that was being protected by oberon,   though things were going so great he would switch to offensive stance mid battle,   then oberon expired, and he visited the red zone so quick it was quite scary.  Likewise I can cast a ward that protects a party member that got momentary agro, and will heal them to full health after it expires,  invariably if theres another healer around they will waste a heal on that person not realize they were already effectively healed.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>     c.  Soloing is painfully slow and DPS contribution to a group thats rolling lower mobs is minimal.   In groups, mobs usually die faster than I can cast my only multi-target damage spell.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>    d.   I can't "adventure" much.   Unless I've mostly greyed out a zone I can't travel nearly so freely as those that can kill quicker or stealth.   In pick up groups this often makes me the follower subject to what quests the rest of group has already got or is going after.  (unless of course I use hint/walkthrough sites)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3. What kind of play style is best suited to your class?</DIV> <DIV>    Anticipate,  think ahead,  know where the damage is going and how fast its going to come.   Can you afford to be casting a debuf, or do you need to be concentrating on keeping people alive.   Is that overloaded chanter about to gain agro and need and extra layer of protection to survive till the tank can taunt off.   You can react to the mob chasing down your pesky ranger, but the quicker you do so the safer and more efficient your actions will be.</DIV> <DIV><BR>4. In general is it easy to find a group?</DIV> <DIV>    Yes.   But that may because I'm one of few healers in my guild that doesn't travel with a fixed regular party.   I'm often available and often needed.   </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>5. How would you compare your class to your good/evil counterparts (Defiler's)?</DIV> <DIV>   Haven't dealt with defilers much since pre revamp.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>6. How do you feel your class does soloing? What is the highest lvl mob you can solo (i.e. yellow ^ or blue v)?</DIV> <DIV>   Caught off guard a blue solo group can do me in.   With a ward up in advance, and solo specific gear,   I'll try the occasional yellow (prefer single mob), but its so slow, and the danger from wanderers is often high.  I usually just try to work blues and greens that give quest credit for those quests I can finally adventure around and find the trigger spots for.  Thats mostly in run of the mill treasured gear,  with a few crafted pieces,   and a few adept3 spells.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV></DIV></DIV>

<div></div><div><div>1. What do you like about your class?</div><div>    a. I like the idea of preventing damage, when things work out ok the group feels they are <span><span><span></span></span></span>invulnerable and that will make them feel happy <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div><div>    b. We have pretty nice debuffs, always fun to [Removed for Content] a mob.. hehe</div><div>    c. Pretty nice melee buffs, str, sta, agi and some nice mitigation buff aswell. Runic line is Very useful for example.</div><div>2. What do you not like?</div><div>    a. Why do we have these massive str self buffs? Ok, it's not bad thing with str, I can carry boxes instead of bags but... It would have been better with wis (obvious) or even int to help our poor dps.</div><div>    b. Sometimes it's hard to manage high burst damage, casting times can be a bit too long on the heals and with direct heals you burn the power very fast. Also, the single debuffs have a bit long casting times.</div><div>    c. I miss some kind of stiffle, stun, etc etc. Some more utility stuff, like furies get group invis. We should at least get AE on spirit of wolf, it's getting a bit old of having to recast that spell every once in a while on every group member.    d. I hated the aggro problems when I were in the 30's together with the lack of any good wards/heals. The best ward were a level 26 one (I think) and that one were pretty [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] weak in the late 30's. (I'm level 52 now and I'm happy with our healing capabilities)</div><div>3. What kind of play style is best suited to your class? If you want to be a healer with a twist <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Prevent damage instead of fixing damage <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />If you ever wanted to look like a bear <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />4. In general is it easy to find a group?</div><div>Healers are usually in demand so no, not really hard to find a group.5. How would you compare your class to your good/evil counterparts (Defiler's)?</div><div>Dunno really.6. How do you feel your class does soloing? What is the highest lvl mob you can solo (i.e. yellow ^ or blue v)?I can take a fair bit of punishment with our sta, mit buffs which is nice when soloing but our dps is quite low so even if I can take on the tougher mobs I will seldom try because the fight just last too long to be fun. And mystics have no good base to build up some int to help the dps so I would not recommend anyone rolling a mystic to solo the way to level 60.</div></div><div></div>

<div> <div> <div> <div>1. What do you like about your class?</div> <div>     <font color="#ff0000">a. Versatility -- I feel like I have the ability to contribute to variety of group situations with variety of debuffs, buffs, and healing.</font><font color="#ff0000"> </font></div> <div><font color="#ff0000">     b.  At first I felt like this could be a good soloing class, and in some ways it has been.</font> </div> <div> </div> <div>2. What do you not like?</div> <div>    <font color="#ff0033"> a. Soloing -- While not as bad as Clerics now, still really slow at times and quite a grind. What kind of play style is best suited to your class?      <font color="#ff0033">Some would not agree, but almost anything you want to do. I can solo, I can group and I can raid.  It's dependent more on what you know about the capabilities of a mystic and what your trying to achieve. </font>4. What is the highest lvl mob you can solo (i.e. yellow ^ or blue v)? <font color="#ff0033">      I can solo everything except  for ^^^ heroics unti they are grey, and even then they are unbeivably impossible. I can solo ^^ and ^ heroics at blue or green. I can solo even level mobs above me upto 3-4 levels as long as they are single. <DIV> <DIV> <DIV>1. What do you like about your class?</DIV> <DIV>     a. I like the fact that I can keep up with other healer classes in my healing abilities. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>     b. My wards are actually useful. I can maintain a tanks health or prevent a main tank on raids from dying in first hits.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>     c. My class is actually wanted in groups and raids.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. What do you not like?</DIV> <DIV>     a. I do not like that as a mystic I have no crowd control abilities. I don't mean crowd control like a Coercer or Illusionist but a means to get 1 mob off a person so that I have the chance to save thier life. All other classes in the game have a root, fear, stun or mez where as mystics have nothing of the sort.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>     b. I do not like that my debuffs are subpar to other classes. In everquest 1 a shaman was about buffs and debuffs. Now in everquest 2 shaman are mainly just healers.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3. What kind of play style is best suited to your class?</DIV> <DIV>   Grouping and raiding are the best styles of play for this class.  Solo is not effective as a mystic.</DIV> <DIV><BR>4. In general is it easy to find a group?</DIV> <DIV>    Yes most healers have an easy time finding groups.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>5. How would you compare your class to your good/evil counterparts (Defiler's)?</DIV> <DIV>    Defilers are more offensive than Mystics.  Mystics use their wards and healing abilities to keep people alive while defilers use their debuffs to facilitate their healing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>6. How do you feel your class does soloing? What is the highest lvl mob you can solo (i.e. yellow ^ or blue v)?</DIV> <DIV>   My class does alright with soloing. I can solo yellow ^^'s or a blue ^^^ as long as they are not casters. If I play my cards right I can solo a white ^^^.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Saramina</DIV> <DIV>60 Mystic</DIV> <DIV>Nektulos</DIV></DIV></DIV>

<div> <div>1. What do you like about your class?</div> <div>     a. its a shaman... </div> <div>     b. it heals...was some dispute on that till CC though... </div> <div>     c. Both A and B </div> <div>2. What do you not like?</div> <div>     a. VERY VANILLA, as in ward ward heal heal heal (repeat because anything else ya might risk whip on hard content, or its shown to be of lil use or effect  (DPS, slows (every class slows it seems an the cap is almost always reached)) not really one sense of IM A MYSTIC...i literly with a friend of mine when duo'n, programed the joystick to auto cast wards on us, while my wizard friend root an nuked all night...talk about feel'n nothing exciten to contribute. </div> <div>     b.  Lack of recognition i'm actually helping the group out, all they see is my encasen the tank or others in a cone of lights...then nothing for the duration of spell...to the point they feel like they can do tuffer content that'll whip us, or im just AFK on auto follow, leachn exp an loot...see A </div> <div>     c. once more nothing really class definen, i know of some other class abilities an we have squat...our bear form at least use to have maul...now its STR an lil health...whats so great or helpful to us, were not suppose to be hit, an even more strength atop of our buff...i say its great if your like my mighty mouse with 6 lock box's for loot an harvesting...but group wise...what? feels like were on the top of the least looked into or develeped class' around...one year to fix our wards is proof enough to me </div> <div>3. What kind of play style is best suited to your class? obviously not solo, but then again i'm a healer...guess entertaining groups! "anyone want to see a great beaver shot?" Turns into a beaver Turns into a reindeer "Someone say stag party?" Bear form on "Quick all you gnome casters take cover behind me, i'll protect ya with my huge A^$^$" hehe, ppl may hate me an love flamen me on these forums, but i've made alot of life time eq2 /friends in my time 4. In general is it easy to find a group? post or pre Combat change? as of now, its not so bad at all find'n groups, some guilds are even TACKY enough to try an brive me outa mine to join theres!!! took a year to feel wanted an now I recall all the /tell hells i use to have in EQ1 </div> <div>5. How would you compare your class to your good/evil counterparts (Defiler's)? play'n both class' I say with my ratonga Defiler, its a blast an way more fun.  diffrences with spell effects are great, an all the added on bonous' that they come with! but some reason I love my mystic more.  guess its just the name I'm hooked on. </div> <div>6. How do you feel your class does soloing? What is the highest lvl mob you can solo (i.e. yellow ^ or blue v)?</div></div> hah, did ya just say SOLO'n??? my god jim im a doctor not a warlock!!! If i enjoy'd whatching grass grow, its great!!! I can kill a green heroic ^^ in say....30 minutes? well its not that bad, but dam near it an yellow ^ with ez, long as its not a healer....then it'll take some casting of slothful spirits...with out that a blue ^ healer will whip me but 9 outa 10 women still like their men furry with alot of stanima that can take it slow an long!!! hence why im a mystic. that other one is a carpet licker!

one more note on the what i hate an why i know the dev's dislike us...are enduren breath spell...WHAT other class has a buff that can kill ppl? go outa range an they die, ez ez ez to do in murky waters with objects around, but more so when jump'n into water, need to make sure that first step isnt a lu lu. <div></div>

<BLOCKQUOTE> <DIV> <DIV> <DIV> <DIV>1. What do you like about your class?</DIV> <DIV>     a. Wards, a very unique way of healing.</DIV> <DIV>     b. Buffs are generally good for tanks.</DIV> <DIV>     c. Debuffs are good too, esp the Ancients line.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. What do you not like?</DIV> <DIV>     a. DPS is awful for solo play.</DIV> <DIV>     b. Casting timers on inidividual target heals and group ward feel a bit long (single target ward and group heal are ok imho).  Healing can feel lethergic at times, but only occasionaly results in death.   Once I got the badger pet this became less of an issue.</DIV> <DIV>     c. Equipment options are sparse but improving, would love to dual wield with a wand, class specific gear, ranged weapons (slingshots?).  I guess every class wants more stuff :smileytongue:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3. What kind of play style is best suited to your class?</DIV> <DIV>Duo & group & raid.  Soloing is fine and fun (I spend a lot of time soloing), but much slower than the DPS classes.<BR></DIV> <DIV>4. How would you compare your class to your good/evil counterparts (Defiler's)?</DIV> <DIV>Havent had much experience with Defilers, they are fairly rare.  When i have grouped with them they seemed to have better DPS & offensive abilities.  They also seem to have a shadow form which makes them mostly invisible (very cool).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>6. How do you feel your class does soloing? What is the highest lvl mob you can solo (i.e. yellow ^ or blue v)?</DIV> <DIV>Soloing is slow but fun.  I haven't tested my limits recently but can take on some yellow ^ non heroic and it goes to the point where I am out of power with mid-low health.  Gear & upgrades makes the difference here.  Orange v arrows are possible, but the resist rate is high so it isn't worth it.  Can also solo some green heroics, but the fights take a long time.  </DIV></DIV></DIV></DIV></BLOCKQUOTE>

<BLOCKQUOTE> <P>1. a. Our wards are good, and defuffs are decent, but usually don't last a fight.</P></BLOCKQUOTE> <P>          2. a. Not nearly enough offensive skills</P> <P>              b. Spell casting time is slow.</P> <P>              c. AE stun has too long of a refresh timer.</P> <P>              d. Soloing is tedious.</P> <P>        3. Without question we were designed to group since the combat changes.</P> <P>        4. I don't enjoy grouping so never have on LFG. I get invites occasionally even when not LFG so I would imagine it's not too tough.</P> <P>        5. Comparing my class to other classes is depressing.</P> <P>        6. Soloing is absolutely the worst thing about this class. I can solo yellow mobs if they are not heroic, but it takes a long time. Using wards I usually don't have problems losing health, but I burn a lot power trying to damage the mobs. I can solo a green ^^^ mob if it is 9 or 10 levels below me, but it takes forever. </P> <P> </P>

A few corrections/clarifications, but overall, very good.  None of these are big issues, don't need on air clarifications or anything, but should just be put out there. a) Both Mystics and Defilers have the same group enduring breath spell.  The reason the range problem is more of a problem for  the shaman classes than the others is that the secondary portion of the shaman version makes the group walk on the bottom of the water.   This means that going out of range means you are at the bottom of the water with no eduring breath, which can cause some deaths. b) Templars and Mystics have very similar direct heal cast times (dont know about Inquisitors & Defilers).  Druid cast times are faster. Overall, the slow cast times on direct heals is an issue that all priests feel to some extent. c) Another reason wards go unnoticed is that they do not show up on any parser I have seen. d) Mystics generally like the bear illusion from the fun element.  The stat boosts on it arent all that helpful, particularly the strength portion.  If I focus all my strength buffs on myself, I can increase my strength by 191, which adds a very very negligable amount to our melee DPS.  The other strength buffs do great things on a fighter, but bearform is self only, so the strength buff there is almost entirely useless. e) Mystics do not have a crowd control ability.  I don't have a problem with it, but some mystics do. Again though, great show. <div></div>
