View Full Version : The offensive debuff part of our Haze line

A 31 Pally and a 31 Mystic (myself) were duoing on the bottom level of Stormhold. We came across a named green ++ lizard and proceeded to rip it apart as an easy fight or so we thought at the time. It was a little while into the fight when we found out that the mob was immune to non-magical attacks. This meant I was gaining far more aggro than the Pally as well as doing far more damage. However, not really enough damage to make this an easy fight. It looked like we were going to lose as the mob was hitting with his special attacks for over 500 a hit when I discovered something very interesting. When I put on Keening Haze, the mob could not hit me at all. Everytime he attacked, he missed. When Keening Haze wore off, he hit me most of the time.In the end, my immunity to his melee saved us. So the offensive debuff part of Keening Haze helps with the to hit rate it appears. Admittingly I haven't really noticed anything overly significant to hit changes on most other (higher) mobs, so perhaps it could have been just some strange bug that caused the mob to miss everytime.
Message Edited by Scrav on 01-17-2005 02:20 PM

No, this is not a bug and it has been documented by banditman in the by the numbers post II. Here are some snippets if you dont want to read the whole post..."My two guinea pigs in this were a L27 Gul'Thex Mystic, solo con and a L31 Tallon Grunt, also solo con. I chose them in order to see the difference between a "challenging" mob - the Grunt - and a nearly trivial mob, the mystic. I am a L30 Mystic for frame of reference. I have all the logs for these encounters if anyone wishes to do their own leg work from them.""Trivial Mobs - a Gul'Thex MysticHowever, when I applied Keening Haze, I was in for a pretty big shock. A number of them actually. This time I ran the data for 6:10 seconds, mainly due to boredom. The mob took 122 swings at me, with 4 hits and 118 misses. No, that isn't a typo. Remember, the description of Keening Haze says that it also debuffs the mobs offensive capabilities. I was definitely seeing that here. However, that wasn't the most shocking part. Those swings worked out to one swing every 3 seconds . . . exactly the same as Wailing Haze! There is NO difference in Slow percentage between the spells!"And here is the post itself:http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=18&message.id=1748
Message Edited by bouek on 01-17-2005 11:58 PM

Doh, I apologise for making a redundant post. I've just been going straight to the mystic board lately and haven't really glanced at the shaman board.

No worries mate I didn't mean my post like that in any way which I hope you understand, when I read it now I see that it can be misinterpeted that way.
