I gained a grand total of +4 mana by going from Adept 1 to Adept 3 Prophetic Guard. This spell is a waste of a rare.Just FYI.

<DIV>Clicking his link he's lvl 31.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You got Prohetic Guard just 2 levels ago.  The real benefits of Adept III vs. say App II will likely not be seen on Prophetic Guard for a few more levels.  Remember that one of the bigger benefits of upgrading your spells is that they will continue to get stronger for more levels than the lower level counterpart.  So for example, App II Spectral Guard would cap out at lvl 36, while Adept III would cap out at lvl 42 (this is just an example and not reflective of how it will actually be).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Give it a few more levels, you'll see soon that your rare didn't totally go to waste.  Although due to buff stacking issues with other Priests, I personally feel you would've been better off upgrading a heal or ward.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>If you tend to be the only healer in your groups, then I don't think there's anything wrong with upgrading some of your buffs to adept 3. And like the previous poster said, you will prolly need a couple of levels before you see any decent change (though let it be known that sometimes adept 3's are still a waste no matter what).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>However, if you tend to group with other healers a lot, you should be aware of the problem with priest buffs stacking with each other, most notably each class's large hp and power buffs respectively. I personally see this as a bug in need of serious fixing, and refuse to bother upgrading my buffs at all untill this is looked into.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Regards,</DIV>

<DIV>Aye - that's why I was asking.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Most spells you get need a few levels under them before they really start to come into their own.</DIV>

I've already got my group ward to master 1, my ancestral ward to adept 3, my slow to adept 3, my cold dot is the level 30 class upgrade, and my group heal is adept 3. I do way too much harvesting in TS for alchemy supplies. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I also love to broker mine, and have picked up a few rares that way due to mispricing. I probably should have spent this rare on getting my spiritual replenishment to adept 3 (it's at adept 1 currently), but my big problem is running out of mana in fights so I thought upgrading the mana buff might help. *shrug* <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Unfortunately I won't be able to compare it later on to the adept 1 version, but oh well, what's done is done <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />I found that upgrading my buffs helped a lot in the first 20 levels, as it meant my group was able to hit harder/longer/handle more blows than before. I upgraded Spirit of the Badger to adept 3 and I did not regret it. However, so far, this upgrade stinks.

I have also just upgraded this spell from Adept 1 to Adept 3. I am level 32.95 (Fetichisms skill at 164). I never expected a big increase from it due to level, but this upgrade was also part curiosity/research after experimenting with Runic Shield a bit. My stats are as follows:Adept 1 added...Power: 138Poison: 348Disease: 348Adept 3 added...Power: 144Poison: 369Disease: 369Overall Increase from Adept 1 to Adept 3...Power: 6Poison: 21Disease: 21

I bought Phophetic Guard Master I off the a player merchant for 25 gold, figured why not. I had Adept 1 at the time. Now given i'm at work at the moment but I think the upgrade from Adept 1 to Master I was the following:+20 mana +140 to Noxious. Not very good at all on the mana side.Only noticable differance was the Noxious differance.Anyway tonight I'll edit this post to show before stats -> after stats of Phophetic Guard Master I. Then someone here with Adept 3 can do the same thing and we can find the differance easy. <DIV>I would have thought the differences would have been greater when moving from an Adept I to an Adept III, however it's not a huge shock, either. (unless, as stated, it will go up more with levels)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I do find it funny how much people are charging for Master I spells though...they are sometimes 3X (or much more) than a rare in the same tier. Given that Master I is only one "notch" above Adept III, there really won't be a huge difference. Many times I'll live with an App IV for, say 1.5 gold, rather than even bother with an Adept I that someone wants 10 gold for. What's the point in spending that much coiin for such a small gain, I figure. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Although with heals and wards it's hard to resist, and I usually cave in. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV>You know what surprises me even more is how people will charge ludicrous coin for something like Weakness Master I or some other inane low level spell.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I mean seriously, what L10 character has 2 platinum to pay for a single spell ?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think many times people get so excited that they have something rare that they forget who their target consumer is.</DIV>

<DIV>Then again there are people out there with money to burn that just want to have the master spell scribed whether its useful or not to them.</DIV>

<DIV>Those people need to donate to a charity.  Preferably <STRONG>Sudedor's Horse Foundation.</STRONG></DIV>

But what's at the root of the problem is SOE's somewhat helter skelter Master 1 spell allocation. I mean, nobody really needs many Master 1 spells from tier two unless it's a ward, heal or buff that is useful all the way up (or doesn't get a replacement). We need a hell of a lot more Master 1 drops in the 35-50 range period, and certainly need more in that range than we do in the 10-34 range.</P> <P> </P>

Just thought I'd add that the difference between Adept 1 and Adept 3 at level 35 is 7 power, I didn't catch the resist bonus.I hold to my hope that it will have a decently higher cap than the Adept 1 version. We'll see <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

I would just say, upgraden majority of spells, the best benefit i seen was say less power to cast... an ya was saddened by the whole diffrence when whatchin the changes in PG from APP1 - App2, adept 1...now seen the changes done with ad3...oh well, ever since the start of launch, an even after all these patches... were the red headed step-class of SoE...only noticable thing getting better over time is sony's wallet
