<DIV> <DIV>I am about to buy a horse, and would love to know if any Mystics out there have already purchased one.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>More specifically, is it useful for Mystics in battle (because of bear form issues), or only for travel?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am worried the problem is the bear form....  Since our bear form is such a main buff for us, the horse may be useless to us (except for travel) if we cannot use it while in bear form.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. Has anyone tried a horse while in bear form?  Of course Griffon rides don't work while in ANY form or illusion, but are horses different?  It is actually a buff, an illusion, etc.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2.  Has anyone tried a horse while in bear form AND in a humaniod form / illusion such as with a Petrified Eye?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am really hoping the horse is just a buff, and therefore is usable by Mystics.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>CAN YOU USE A HORSE WHILE IN AN ILLUSION FORM?  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I want to avoid some *serious* buyer's remorse if I shell out all that plat and we can't use it while in battle...  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV></DIV><p>Message Edited by songrider on <span class=date_text>01-05-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:47 PM</span>

Ever seen bear riding a horse? I have not. I guess that all illusions, which are not humanoids (ie. do not walk on 2 legs) block horses and griffons.Hmm... gnoll on horse would be nice to scare other players. Or horse with snake coiled around it doing node harvest.

<DIV>You can't use a horse while in ANY illusion whatsoever, humanoid or not. Casting bear or a petrified eye while on a horse will change u to bear and remove the horse. You cannot summon your horse while in any illusion either.</DIV>

<DIV>I've been able to keep up with or run faster than all the players I have come across just using sow. Thats probably because they are using cheap horses or the Crusader lvl 20 horse though.</DIV>

<DIV>Yea... I keep my J-boots with me and swap them out for my Quest boots only when I arrive at my destination and am getting ready to enter combat.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyone know if there is a way to swap equipment via a Macro?  Be nice to have one that swapped Quest boots for J-boots at the touch of a button, for those unfortunate situations when fleeing becomes necessary.</DIV>

<DIV>Quested jboots are the same speed and the pre-order ones.  For a shaman with jboots and sow the 3 plat 80 horse is a minor upgrade and I'm not spending the money.  Now if the guild gets high enough to bring down the price of the 9 plat horses I'm going to be seriously tempted.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Would be a lot better if this was like EQ1 where you could get most of your money back on an upgrade.</DIV>

<DIV>The quested J-Boots are worth wearing where the newbie ones you had to switch in and out.  Nice to have the extra speed all the time, I couldn't go back to having to worry about changing all the time.  They aren't great stats but i don't plan to change them unless I find something with 20 wisdom and 100 power, well maybe not even then.</DIV>
