<DIV> <DIV><U>38 - Howling Haze </U>- An impairment that decreases the enemy attack speed and offensive skills.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><U>39 - Mourning Soul </U>- An impairment that reduces the enemy attack speed while immobilizing the Mystic for the duration of the spell.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What're their differences besides those mentioned above? If Mourning Soul is a much powerful slow than Howling Haze then why only one level apart? </DIV></DIV>

<DIV>I'm only 33 so I don't know for sure, but it would seem to me that a more powerful slow at the expense of immobilisation is quite an interesting tactical choice.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Do you do the normal thing or do you risk an improved Slow that you may have to cancel if you have to move.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I quite like the idea.</DIV>

<DIV>I used mourning soul a few times, as the level at which I receive it I was in Everfrost fighting some pretty nasty red and orange mobs. I don't think I've used it in some levels though. I did not feel that the slow was better in particular as compared to HH, and certainly not worth the root aspect as that just spells disaster if you need to move quick to avoid adds or aggro. The one thing i did like was the instant recast ability if it was resisted, and the low power cost as compared to our main slows. Sometimes I'd spam cast it so fast waiting for it to hit a red mob that once it did hit, I missed it and hit it again, canceling it and activating the long recast time =. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> If fighting a boss or whatever you can try throwing both slows on. My tank seemed to notice when both slows were on, and if you feel you need the slight extra edge to defeat an encounter, than use it. I personally just rarely saw much use for it in normal or even slightly difficult encounters.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Regards,</DIV>

<DIV>Is the immobilizing Slow upgradeable or is it one of those "what you get is what you get" deals?</DIV>

<DIV>Last time I used morning soul was a few days ago, when a mob in ef resisted a couple time on HH.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was imoblized and it also drains power per sec....not a bad amt, i regained it every tick but would be better to gain power per tick as oppose to staying the same.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>also I use implied targeting so even though the mob died the spell was still in maintained spells window and still losing power till i canceled it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I haven't used it since</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Titus</DIV>

"Is the immobilizing Slow upgradeable or is it one of those "what you get is what you get" deals?"I've got a Mourning Soul Adept1 sitting in my bank, so I'd say that it's upgradeable. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><p>Message Edited by TheRealMoon on <span class=date_text>01-07-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:52 AM</span>

I haven't made these changes on my Mystic yet, but on my Brawler last night the new ability was listed as Adept II.  I assumed this was the case for all the 'improvement' selections.  Is it not?<BR></P> <p>Message Edited by Vanyari on <span class=date_text>01-07-2005</span> <span class=time_text>08:41 AM</span>

<DIV>I chose something last night that showed on my Mystic as Adept II . . . I can't for the life of me remember what it was . . . perhaps my AE Debuff?  </DIV>

<DIV>well.. The diff between the 2 slows.. besides the ones listed is that the mourning soul Slows the mobs a little bit more than normal slow.. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The main thing that I like about this thing though is that they STACK with eachother..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The only time I use Mourning soul is on Named mobs and on Boss/miniboss mobs.. thats it</DIV>

<DIV>Mourning Soul has a big advantage, it can be recast imediately even if resited.  It also has the big disadvantage of not being able to be reused for a minute after it wears off or is cancled.  So if you are having a hard time getting the regular slow to stick spam Mourning Soul then swtich back because once it's off you aren't geting it back in time to help.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Somebody with a parser would have to find out if they actually add up when stacked or just have the effect of the best one.  My guess would be just the best, not both but that's only from watching tanks take damage.</DIV>
