<DIV>After lvl 20 and such do you feel that u are needed as much as a templar? i ask cause i hear that mystics become less of a use due to the wards being a 0ac type deal...so i am asking if u are still wanted in groups as a healer or so not just as a spot filler</DIV><p>Message Edited by Kryogenic on <span class=date_text>12-13-2004</span> <span class=time_text>11:39 AM</span>

I feel very, very useless. Being 24 I feel that my spell are useless. In group, noone talk about my wards nor wait for them. No one care much about my buff. The only use is some healing. And If I take a look at the spell coming down the road up until 50, none is very interesting. Even SoW suck since it's now group base.<img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I feel apart and I think I'll delete my toon.

<DIV>I suggest you not to do your job in a few mobs and see how the cleric power goes down..... I dont need people to say how good my spells are. I know it, period.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At lvl 29 I consider mystics best healer class BY FAR, our wards are a must in first steps of the combat while tank is getting agro, clerics and druids are eaten by a multiple pull and finish healing themselves if the tank agro spells fail.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When groups have a cleric in a group, they constantly ask for a 2nd healer.... when I am in a group, they search for another DPS so we can get exp faster.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyways, I like to see as many post like this one as possible.... so the devs wont nerf us :smileyvery-happy:</DIV><p>Message Edited by Somanta on <span class=date_text>12-15-2004</span> <span class=time_text>03:55 AM</span>

<DIV>I can't understand anyone playing a Shaman/Mystic and feeling useless unless they aren't making use of all their abilities.  Sorry if that seems insulting.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was lucky enough to get an Adept1 for my Slow spell the other day, but even before that with App2 it was very noticable when my Slow landed or wore off.  The alternation from the tank was, "Jeebus! This thing is murdering me!", to "Ah! What a wimp this monster is!".  Add in the 80 damage per tick from my DoTs and the effects from my other buffs and debuffs and I feel VERY effective.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Only thing I would change is to have the Ward work post-mitigation even if they turned down the amount it protected by.  Pre-mitigation makes it less and less effective as your group members improve and makes it react weirdly with other spells.  Feels wrong.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But, useless?  no way</DIV>

<DIV>I get people chosing me, a Mystic, over Templars all the time. The reason for it is simple: I don't suck. I'm not claiming to be the best, or even amongst the best, but I know how to use all the tools that the gods have given me and people notice. I rarely have trouble finding a group and have never felt like I'm not useful in a group. It really doesn't matter how  the group is made up, I always fit in somewhere. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>CrazyMike</DIV>

<DIV>ahhh lol i didnt want this to be an argument i just hear alot about how we feel useless in groups past 20...but i dont feel useless at all i love playing my class and i love when people say "Man that ward saved my life" and i just love being a shammy we are the "[Removed for Content]" healers but i thinki that we can heal just as well as any other class.  But all in all i just think this is a very very entertaining class to play...everytime i group i am always having a blast and never feel like i am working since i can slow..dot...dd..heal...buff..and do much more so i always feel that any group or any zone we are in i feel that i can do something to help us achieve our goal whatever it may be <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

Like someone else said earlier. If youre the secondary healer in a group which doesnt respect your role, stop doing your job, lean back and enjoy the sight of the main healers power drop.. Its the mix of debuffs, wards, dots and buffs that makes us powerful. My guildmates already stated they love the way a warden/mystic healer duo works. And my personal maintank *hug* Garnor.. LOVES my Wards.Soo.. feeling useless ? Show the group how useless you really are..let them feel the pain.

<DIV>Hey, you can't be useless cause we already got this title. Oh.. and Templars are the one and only elite in this game. Heck, every child knows this..</DIV> <DIV>:smileyvery-happy: :smileytongue: :smileywink:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I feel very useful and in fair demand. I do well as a single healer in light group encounters warding and healing, but I standout with a second healer in the group in harders group encounters. In the groups i normaly run with I have a templar running as main healer, this has lead to both of us working to both our strengths. My out of the gate casting is ward on the main tank, then cry of the ancients ( group debuff) then anger of teh ancients ( group dd hits for 168-197). I follow up with assisting off the main tank with misama ( dot for 39-47) and cold fire (dot for 56-79) on each mob. This has worked well for me and the groups I am in as long as the other healer can work in tandum with me. Now all my spells I use are adept 2 and I am a lvl 32 barbarian. I am trying out new tactics and buff combos all the time to see what can be changed up to work better for diffrent mob types.</DIV>

<DIV>grimtooth - you said you are using adept 2 spells?  I was under the impression that the adept 2 (quested spell versions) were not implemented in the game yet?  Are you sure you didn't mean adept 1 (book drops off mobs), or adept 3 (player made using tradeskills)?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And if in fact you did mean adept 2 - please share the info about the quests you completed to get them?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>As a pally I love having a mystic in the group.</DIV> <DIV>You heal, slow, weakness, dot, all the things I love.</DIV> <DIV>I do not know how you can feel useless unless your groups just don't appreciate what you bring to the group.</DIV>

<DIV>At 26 you get 2 DoTs, Slow, Debuff and AoE debuff, Ward, and Heals.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With those skills me and my Guardian friend can kill 2 ^^ Yellows in a row with no downtime.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ward Tank, Pull mob, Debuff, Slow, DoT, Ward Guardian, DoT, then Melee.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>WIth both DoTs + Melee your doing 80 - 85 damage per tick. WIth the debuff and slow your first level ward last close to the full 35 seconds. When one of the above drops your rinse and repeat.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This formula works in a grop as well. Dead mobs don't hit people. Slowed mobs hit them less. Weak mobs don't hit for as much. All these things = HEALING. They are just proactive instead of reactive.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you want to be a reactive healer go druid or cleric. If you want to be up front and in their face be a shaman.</DIV>

<DIV>One thing i have actually thought and liked about being a Mystic is the fact imo we can heal an ally for the most health point damage taken. I may be wrong but ive always found it that way. </DIV>

<DIV>I have to agree with Rone a bit and with a few of you who said that sure we may not heal as much or so as the Templar, but i am having a blast playing my Shaman.  So i am not gonna continue to worry about if we heal as good or so, and i know a lot of you are feeling the same way, i am just gonna continue to play as my character and as long as i am having fun then thats all that matters <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />   Oh and by the way Yes i do feel very useful in group..like someone said earlier those comments that a tank makes about a slowed and unslowed mob are true </DIV>
