<DIV>I know I didn't start the thread, but I wouldn't mind a little hint (that's spelled s.p.o.i.l.e.r...heh).  I am about to hit lvl 18 High Elf Shammy and I was thinking of beginning the quest.  Thanks.</DIV>

<DIV>I made a post in the priest archetype forum outlining the whole quest. You can vew it <A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=11&message.id=487" target=_blank>here</A></DIV>

<DIV>My Mystic Trail Experience from last night.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was a 19th level Shaman.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I did find it hard to get through both trials without help, I grouped with a paladin that turned everything grey for me, in the 1st part I cared very little for the XP, and just wanted hte bloodsabers. I returned for the second part, did not group, and was killed by a bat just trying to get down the hallyway. And I tried the buff/ward and run, and was slaughtered as well. So I grouped, and turned all the aggros grey, went to the door, and entered. There was a hallway like was told, with 6 blue skeletons in carsophagus, and they came at you 2 at a time. And you have to watch for the patrolling undead who is sheathed in flames, I would grab the 2, and backup to a corner and fight them. Once I cleared out the undead laying down, I went for the sentry. And when I was done, more undead spawned in the sarcophagus, and they were white this time. No way I could take on 2 whites, especially the kind of damage these MOBS were doing. So I killed the 2 more spawned blue undead, only to have the sentry respawn. So now I am so angry I was literally growling at the computer screen. I killed the sentry again, healed, and I just threw on a ward, and said screw it. I ran between the gauntlet of undead and left around the corner. They did not aggro, so here is this white necromancer or something, and I fight him with ease and it was over. You might be able to just pull the sentry, and then run down the center, but I never tried that form the start, so I don't know. But I spent time healing quite a bit, and the undead would respwan before I could get fully recovered. So that is just my experience on this process.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Love the spear you get as your finaly reward when you talk to Aurora as well. :smileyhappy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Any tutorial for people that are in Freeport?</DIV>

11-22-2004, 12:54 AM
If you are in Freeport you must betray before level 18 (i think thats the cap) and then take the quest in Qeynos. Its a good only subclass. The shammy subclass in Freeport is Defiler, which has a lot more debuffs and gets a rather spiffy wraith form which replaces your flesh with purple haze.

<DIV><STRONG><U>Walkthrough for Shaman<IMG height=16 src="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif" width=16 border=0></U></STRONG></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Actually.. this subclass is pretty easy for a shaman...  </DIV> <DIV>but on the other hand, my cleric partner was having problems.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>here is the way I figured out how to do it.. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Make sure you have some<STRONG> nice food/drink</STRONG>, so you can regen faster. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>From Vermin's Syne, just cast the run buff on yourself , and run all the way into the room place, and ward yourself and run all the way</DIV> <DIV>to the zone area. Very very easy part.  And make sure you right click on the door and select open... it took me a while to figure that out <IMG height=16 src="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif" width=16 border=0></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When inside, </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><U><STRONG>Bloodsaber Construct</STRONG></U></DIV> <DIV>You will see bloodsaber construct , skeleton with flame around them. And 6 more bloodsaber on each side of the room, lying on the table. </DIV> <DIV>For me, if after i kill the flame one, and run it through, those 6 bloodsaber became aggoed to me. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Therefore, equipped with hammer/shield,  took down the first construct with our DoT attack, and just regular attack and debuff sometime </DIV> <DIV>of course, ward urself all the time. DoT is the key attack here. And maybe cast a slow on the monster if you can't handle its attack.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><U>More Bloodsaber on the side</U></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>Then of course, if u find those bloodsaber on the tray or table will aggo u , take them down 2 by 2 , because even it says solo, they come in group </DIV> <DIV>of two.  Again, don't use ur power, conserve them !  Just DoT each of them, and ward urself, do regular attack. Ward-Heal-DoT. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You don't necessary have to kill the monster on the side, I only killed 4, the last 2 when i walked pass by them didn't aggo at all <IMG height=16 src="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif" width=16 border=0> </DIV> <DIV>And yea the bloodsaber construct(one with the flame ) it will pop one more time while ur doing or between ur rest time, so be careful. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><U><STRONG>Last 3 Bloodsaber</STRONG></U></DIV> <DIV>Now the last 3 bloodsaber, they will come at you the same time. Again, it isn't as tough as you would think, Ward - DoT(All THREE)- Heal </DIV> <DIV>maybe some more debuff on the monster u r try to take down, but don't lose ur power!! When I finished them, I still have 2 -3 bar of power left. <IMG height=16 src="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif" width=16 border=0> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><U>Named Boss</U></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>He couldn't be any more easier.  He will do some crazy spell on you, like shattering or something, but again . </DIV> <DIV>Ward urself, heal, and Dot, slow and weakness. Very easy named mob, when he died, i still have half power left <IMG height=16 src="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif" width=16 border=0> </DIV> <DIV>and i even do someo smite and combo on him. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The key point is, don't waste ur power on smite or those spell attacks. It just run ur power off. </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>DOT </STRONG>is your best friend, consider it as you are bring it another partner with you. Very useful and it is the<STRONG>  key point</STRONG>  for taking those mobs. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I did all these @ lvl 18 . So good luck <IMG height=16 src="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif" width=16 border=0> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>OxYi @ BlackBurrow </DIV>

<DIV>I wish I had read this before last night.  I died twice before finally defeating that boss.  I, however, chose the harder route.  Once I got past the first guy, and then ran down the middle to not [Removed for Content] off the sleeping guys, I ran in warded, and went right for the boss.  The 3 constructs (cool looking guys) were on me in a second, but I stayed on the boss, HOing as much as I could, and rewarding.  When my power ran out, and it did, I utilized the very gracefull method of hack and slash until the boss died, then I ran for the close exit, appared in the middle of some aggro skels, ran for my life, and actually made it out with a sliver of health and no power.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I highly recomend the above method over mine!!!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Canaan</DIV> <DIV>lvl 18 Shaman</DIV> <DIV>Unrest</DIV>

<DIV>I agree with everything oxyi said except one point.</DIV> <DIV>I used smite and grey wind chain casting with HOs. </DIV> <DIV>They died so fast I didnt need to ward or heal during battle.</DIV> <DIV>Even killing the 3 mob pull i didnt run outa power.</DIV> <DIV>(of course I warded before the battle waited a sec to regen)</DIV> <DIV>Just be sure and fight the boss on the far side of his desk.</DIV> <DIV>That way the roaming mob will not bug you if he pops.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>with any method the KEY TO BATTLE is GOOD FOOD!</DIV> <DIV>I got 2 units of 50c ish food/water just for this encounter.</DIV> <DIV>Money well spent</DIV>

To avoid the zone out aggro problem, use your Call of Qeynos to port out after killing the boss mob.

12-01-2004, 01:15 AM
<DIV>I just finished this last night, I started at level 19 with over 100% xp banked towards level 20.  Everything was grey to me except for the mobs that jumped me, (and the mobs at the instance zone in).  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>All the mobs were real easy, however I found that the blues were easier than the greens, and the greens were than the greys.  lol.  I died a couple times from groups of greys that I attacked on my own, but had no problem with any of the blue's or green's that spawned on me.  </DIV>

<DIV>I found the last part of this extremely easy. After I got by all the agro stuff and to the door it was real easy. I just took my time and killed everything in there. the last guy was easest. I just slowed him and doted him and used my HO's  and he was dead fast. </DIV> <DIV>Most of my armor was grey to me and I only had 2 adept spells and those were a heal and another buff can't remember the name off hand. so they did help much never had to heal myself.</DIV>

<DIV>I completed this just as a lvl 19 shammy. However when I talked to aurora she said here is a spear as a reward and there was nothing in my inventory? I didnt even get a quest reward window come up. Do you get this at 19 or do you have to get to 20 before you get the reward??</DIV>

12-03-2004, 09:00 PM
<DIV>I spoke to a GM and the problem was because my racial trait had not been selected, quest rewards will not be given until this is selected.</DIV>

<DIV> <DIV>I'll share my experiences.  For some background, my armor is almost all gray and all my spells are App III.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I tried to do this after dinging 18 and left about 4 shards in Vermin's Snye and one in the tomb area.  So with some help of a 20, I managed to get my shards back.  Three of those shards were left before I figured the map out.  It helps to get to the first big square room and then remember: Center Right Left.  At the first room aim for the center door, in the second room aim for the right door, in the third room aim for the left door.  Then run along the hall.  It bends but you don't turn anymore until you're in that large round room with the spiral stairs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At 18, the Constructs were yellow and white to me but at 19 they were white and blue.  Also at 19, many of the skeletons on the way to the tomb were grey whereas at 18 they were almost all agro-green.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway, I took down the wanderer, and pulled the first set of tabled constructs.  I followed the recommended Ward DoT method. I then slowly walked forward waiting for another set to agro.  They didn't.  Once through I found a niche in the corner where I waited for the wanderer to respawn.  When it did, I pulled and off'ed him.  Now I had the three blues to worry about.  The post above made this sound easy, but I was on the verge of running out of power when the last one went down.  I waited until my power returned (food and drink regen rate) and went after the named guy.  He wasn't hard.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The final bit of suspense is that just as I was about to Call of Qeynos, the three Constructs respawned and agroed.  It was a race between my health bar and the Call of Qeynos casting bar.  Call of Qeynos won in a squeaker and I showed up in GreyStone Yard with half a bubble of health.  One final trip to Aurora and voila.  Now all I have to is ding 20. :smileyvery-happy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV></DIV>

<DIV>Hi,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think this encounter may have changed a bit. I did it last night and the mobs were a bit different.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On entering the room there was just a single white con (lvl19) Construct wandering around in the hallway. I killed this quite easily. regened and walked up to the far end of the hallway. The hall took a left turn and infront of me were 3 blue (with a down arrow) contructs across the hall. 1 in the middle and on each side. Although they were marked as solo they came as a group. These were easier than the single white con. Then all that was left was a named (forget his name) white con stood behind a table. I killed him fairly easily. This was enough to complete this part of the quest.  By the time I had the 1st Skelly had respawned and was doing me some damage. I just then clicked the door and reappeared somewhere back in VS. From there I CTQd  then paid a visit to NQ</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was given a nice spear by Aurora for my troubles  and the promise of Mystic when I reach lvl 20.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>My experience was the same as FullDuplex's. The mobs that are laying down do not have to be fought. Just walk down the center of the hall after you kill the white con construct and they will not aggro on you. I actually had to do this room twice. The first time through, after killing everyone but the named, I walked right past him and out the door, expecting him to be in the next room. Heh. There is no next room. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, I meandered back and did the whole room again, exactly the same as the first time, as FullDuplex described. This time, though, I found the named while my mana bar was still less than half full. Still an easy fight.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I will add, though, that I was very disappointed in the spear. I already had a Steel Spear which had better stats across the board (except no +1 INT bonus). </DIV>
