EoF is also bringing the portals back for druids. There are working druid rings in Commonlands, Antonica, Steamfont, Butcherblock and Greater Faydark. There are hints given by the portal trainers that more rings will be added in the future.

You have to complete a little quest in each circle to get the portal spell for that circle and from what I have seen its a group port. However any who want to port with you also seem to have to harvest a leaf from all the druid circles, only once though it seems. The portal spell once cast gives an image in the air in front of the druid of a stone circle which you then have to right click on. This image lasts for a certain length of time to allow all those travelling to click it. At this time I am not sure how many can travel through.

As far as I am aware there are portal trainers in Kelethin, Qeynos and Freeport. The Freeport one is in the Temple of War (Dismal Rage) I don't know exacly where the other two are in the other areas.

Yeah ports are fun the recast is quite fast I believe about 1 min and you can cast the portal from anywhere.

The quest to get acces to a druid ring isnt hard its only a bit time consuming (well not that bad lol) running from the druid ring to the portals trainer and back again after that youll get a seperate spell for each of the ports.

The gfx are really nice imo theres a new casting animation+ the portal itself looks really cool with swirling leaves etc.

Message Edited by quetzaqotl on 11-04-2006 03:18 PM

If you got a Templar buddy to Odyssey you, I think the quests would go a lot quicker. But do your home (Commonlands or Antonica) quest first so you can port back to your home zone while doing the others.

I love the new druid port spells. One druid can move an entire raid from anywhere to one of the 5 active druid rings. Spectacular.

What is the spell cost of the reagent? I now they posted on the Wizzy forum that their reagent is 15 silver per use...

It kinda looks like we're making a giant green pizza in the air. VERY nice looking and people stop to watch you do it. I think other people around can click through it if they've done the quest, which makes it a bad career move to taxi. (just hang around a druid long enough and then piggy back through the portal) -- that may change though.

Haha... I can just imagine it now... I cast my druid portal ring for my guild / group and random people emerge from no where and dash for my portal. Then when it disappears and they didn't make it through, they pester me to cast it again. Rinse. Repeat.

Once you go through it yourself does it disappear or stay up for the whole minute?

So this is something only druids, ie Mystics, Wardens and Furys will be able to do. Please say yes. I think that fury's need an evac as well.

Ok that would make sense since the other major travel spell in the game "evac" is a level 25 spell too.

I must say having these ports is just awesome. It's saved me so much time travelling around already, especially going back to kelethin many times for Tunare quests.

Once a druid reaches 25 can he earn all the ports then or does he have to level to get them all?

How many total ports do druids have and where do they go to?

All ports are level 25 quests, but you might have a bit of trouble getting to some of them at that level. Everything was grey to a 70 but in steamfont they were aggressive and around level 35ish?

The port locations are :

Antonica - East of the KOS spire

Commonlands - SE of the nektulos zone

ButcherBlock - Head up the stairs in the harbor at the dock. This takes you to a path that goes up the cliff. The path ends in a large circular type area, the portal is in this area.

Greater Faydark - right near the Tunare Sapling, which is the big old tree that the Old Kelethin Acorn Lift uses.

Steamfont - There's a huge quarry in the zone, near the Loping Planes zone. The ring is along the rim of it.

For those of us who like fast travel and hate wasting time getting from point A to point B during back-and-forth quests, this is a wondrous thing. The portals are faster to cast than a Call, are on a 1m recast, stay up for anyone else who's keyed to go through, and look really pretty. They're balanced by the requirement of everyone who uses them being keyed.Perfect implementation. Hats off to SOE.

Piggybacking a related question to this post rather than raising a new one (found this when trying to search for the answer, with obvious results!), hope you don't mind. Does anyone know if there is a command or similar for non druids to use to check if they have gathered the required leaf for each of the 5 active druid rings? I've had a number of groups end up split because some can port but others "aren't sure" if they have gathered the leaf and only find out by clicking on the active portal - some of the group don't wait to find out whether all can travel. Then boredom sets in while the non-ported players take the long route etc. Would be handy if players could execute a command that would show them the druid rings they have access to, so the group could know prior to the portal being cast.
