Can someone tell me if the animal charm (in the agility AA line) is worthwhile at higher levels?  Can a charmed animal zone with you?<div></div>

<DIV>If you solo alot it's definately worth it.  It's also very useful while harvesting.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There are rats in a Fallen Dynasty dungeon zone that are charmable, and some mobs in the lake zone too.  True there is not a great variety of charmable mobs in T7 but there are enough.  Several decent mobs to charm in DOF too.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>They do not zone with you, but they will ride clouds and carpets with you.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Don't expect the power of a summoners' pet or even a chanter though.  But if you think it may fit your playstyle it does open up some options (pet pulling) that you would never have otherwise as a healing class.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Edit- The new expansion may offer some good mobs too.  Hopefully they may tweak AA's too?</DIV><p>Message Edited by WasFycksir on <span class=date_text>10-02-2006</span> <span class=time_text>06:17 AM</span>

<P>I decided to go down the route of getting the Charm Animal AA, but was extremely disappointed when I went to use it to find that it requires 3(!!!) Concentration points to use it!</P> <P>3 CONCENTRATION!! That's ludicrous! When I'm buffed up normally with my self and group buffs, I only have one concentration spot left, which mean that I have to cancel 2 buffs to be able to charm an animal!</P> <P>Unless I'm doing something wrong?</P> <P> </P>

<DIV>Indeed 3 conc is excessive for how limited the amount of animals are and the dps they do isnt that hot either.</DIV> <DIV>If you compare to necros they have an undead charm which costs 0 conc.</DIV> <DIV>Coercer charm takes 3 conc too ofc but isnt as limited as ours is.</DIV> <DIV>So yeah imo they should remove the 3 conc cost or make it take 1 conc max.</DIV> <DIV>Btw I think animal charm should be a druid spell all druids get and be moved out of our achievements.</DIV><p>Message Edited by quetzaqotl on <span class=date_text>10-05-2006</span> <span class=time_text>05:36 PM</span>

I went down the sta and int line but its because I figured I would get the most out of thoes two lines being a fury and all I do nuke in raids. like I keep telling the leadership nukes to furys are debuffs to shaman so if shaman have to debuff furys have to nuke =) <div></div>

I like to melee if possible in raids.... if they start to ask why I say its because of my heal proc... but in truth there is nothing more fuin that giving a massive raid mob the old 1-2 with an oversized hammer. But yeah Animal charm is sevearly limited... several druids I know took it at the beginning to help them level up before choosing a different set of AAs later. THe decreasing l;ack of animals is one of many problems with this entire line really :/<div></div>

<P>its so rediculous too basilisks/serpents some named animals some bees those krathuktype mobs etc. arent considered animals even undead dogs should be considered animal+undead imo.</P> <P>Its quite unfair really necros having a free charm and we having a 3 conc charm.</P>

has anyone maxed Charm animal aa out with 8 points? Was your ^^^ really a triple up or in other class terms a M1. I used to use in pvp and in kiting. I wish dungeons had more animals

The 3 concentration point drain makes this charm unworthwhile, imo.  I toyed around with it, and had some fun soloing (had alot of fun charming sharks in Everfrost, and sending them after unwitting Qs), but if you're in a grp situation, it's useless.  More often than not, the charm wears off, the pet turns against you, and disrupts the group.  Plus you're down in buffs...so I respecced and pumped my AAs into the wisdom line...I'm much happier now..Regards<div></div>

<P>For the love of god don't ask them to change the conc slots for you charm. Ask any troub all he'll agree.</P> <P>(Seriously though 3 concs is too much.)</P>

<DIV>The only beneficial use I found for this line was charming pets and letting them get killed off while I was at a safe distance to clear an area of nasty heroic mobs while soloing. I have had several occasions where the charm would break and the previously charmed pet would continue killing its initial target instead of coming after me which would definately be beneficial for me.</DIV> <DIV>I maxed the 8 points and found little impact in its overall damage. Keeping only Int. & Wis buffs running. Overall I had the ability for five levels and grew tired of its uses opting for the Int. and Wis lines.</DIV>

I used this a bit when I was early 50s for animals in SoS. It did help me in PvP and I would kite mobs with a large DD spell snare then let the mob hit it as I used a wand on the mob. I never maxed out the aa points in it and I am curious to know is a master charmed pet 8aa points tougher and hits harder than a app1 charmed pet. I may go back and respec just to see.
