I was looking at dragonhide, but wasn't sure if there was a good armor to be crafted with nimbus root.

Thanks

We use leather armor though so I wouldn't give up an armor class. My bad though!

tbh, the droped leather you can pick up is generally better than any of the rare crafted stuff at a fraction of the cost.

So it depends on if you plan on doing much raiding or not. Resists are very valuable if you do. If not, yes, the dropped is just fine for grouping and a lot cheaper. I raid, the dragonhide has been great starter raid gear for me, since I didn't raid until Tier 7. I was a late bloomer! If you're just getting into raiding at a late stage, as I did, then go for the dragonhide. And honestly, the resists are rather nice even in a group. The dropped armor concentrates them in a couple of areas whereas the crafted spreads them out quite a bit more. And on women, at least, it looks a hell of a lot better! Not that I'm vain or anything......

Let me add....unless you're talking about some of the instanced drops, I'm talking the common drops. I'm assuming he's starting out in Tier 7 and will be looking to upgrade immediately, which is what I did as soon as I hit 62. I've certainly added dropped legendary and fabled as I got it!

Message Edited by Ashlian on 07-26-2006 10:13 AM

I used my Mastercrafted Leather armour until I was lvl 62 or 63 when I could get my hands on some nice treasured and legendary gear. Either that or gtet into a raiding guild and bid on decent armour from there. The Mastercrafted 60-70 leather armour is alright, but I never wasted my time, and went for the good stuff.

If you're on a PvP server, the crafted. It's got way more spread out resists then the SoS and onward crap.

It's up to you and what you want to do. But with some dirt cheap crafted jewelry three piece resist sets (ring, earring, necklace) I got all resists but divine over 80 with nothing but my dragonhide and some treasured pieces in other slots. That's pretty nice on raids, and I do notice a difference. And with the wis on dragonhide, it didn't even take my wis down too badly. I ante'd up for a couple of moonstone bracelets to also keep the wisdom and int up, which were pricy also, but for non-dropped, considering I was just starting to raid, it worked out nicely. And I've always made nice with some tradeskillers, so it's just the cost of the materials I've usually had to pay....I admit it is PRICIER if you don't have tradeskiller friends. And I'll admit....I do still prefer the look of dragonhide to the common leather.....even if it IS brown. Bad devs. No cookie.

If you don't have the plat or don't harvest your own moonstones, then yes, that might be a little tougher. Personally, I was starting back after quite a long hiatus, so I was out of the loop......I harvested early tier collectibles out of....get this.....BLACKBURROW, and BLOODLINES to fund my spending on this. They sold quite nicely on my server :smileyvery-happy: Weathered gnoll bones for teh win!

Are there any specific pieces treasured / legendary that are better then the dragonhide?
