Focus and Disruption

I'm using the Int AA line and have 8pts into Stormvision which increaes your Disruption and Focus.  Does anyone know how increasing these values help?  I understand increasing focus should decrease the amount of interrupts and maybe fizzles?  I'm not sure how increased Disruption helps my dmg spells.  I noticed all the dmg spells use disruption (Tempest, Thunderbolt, Starnova, killing Swarm, Ring of Fire).  My focus is at 392/392 and disruption at 397/397 with the AA buffs.  So my question is, what does increasing Disruption do for dmg spells... do more dmg, less interrupts? <div></div>

<P>Disruption means less outright resists, especially from yellow and orange con mobs or opponents in PVP.</P> <P>Some of my wizards friends also tell me that it make the actual damage closer to the maximum of the damage range of the spell (say strike of thunder hits from 1500 to 2500, you are supposed to be more likely to hit over 2000 than under 2000 with increased disruption) I tend to believe it, as lately I believe I hit to close to the high end of the range quite often.</P>

Disruption definitely increases damage.  I had a necklace with exactly +1 disruption and taking it off took about 30-40 (can't remember for sure) off of my Strike of Storms.
