View Full Version : The Fury and PvP

I've played a Fury up to only level 15, and I think the class has potential. However, what I'm looking for is a comment for anyone who may have played a Fury in the PvP beta. I'm not looking for a clas to "omgwtfbbq ownzers" (ranger, cough cough) but something that can kill, move and survive multiple battles. The ability to get into combat and survive, even if it means escaping, is more important to me than winning every pvp encounter I go into. Would this be a fair assesment of the Fury in PvP? I still want to kill, but want it to be balances with surviving the encounter...

Ive played a fury in beta. I have a fury on live at lvl 30, he is not my main but is currently my primary alt.

In beta I think we are in good shape. Ive been an effective healer in small grp and multi raid force encounters. 1 on 1 I get my [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] kicked but thats 'cause im not totally familliar with all the skills (on beta you get buffed to lvl 55). I have no doubt that we are viable in 1 on 1 situations if you know the class. damage semms about right in comparison to the other classes. Healing range and buff range are an issue as the combat gets spread out easily. These are issues for all healing classes though. Be advised you will be the primary tagret of all opponents and you will go down fast if your grp is not paying attention. You will get stunned, stiffled, interupted, knocked down etc... thats just the nature of the PVP beast.

Bottom line:

If you enjoy your fury on live and you can deal with the pvp aspect you are gonna be happy.

ps. Rangers arent nearly as strong as they were a few days ago, and even then they were not as strong as some would have you belive. Class balence is pretty solid overall.

Anyone else have any experiences with the Fury in PvP Beta? My only concern is the lack of CC. The 40% snare will be used alot I would think to keep melee away from you.

I rolled a fury on pvp and so far like it.. I noticed that being an evil fury makes me like part of the healing minority... One funny thing is everyone is an assassin so who gonna tank? LOL anyways i like my fury so far but am wondering how i can fare in PvP. ANyone else have an good things to add to fury on pvp?

Ridean

Well I'm up to level 19 as a fury (play one on AB to 50). My least used spell on the PvE server, Snare, is now my most used spell. When running with my group there are always people trying to get to the zone line. Snare, dot, dot, then let the group finish em off.

Fast cast heals and hots really are great when half your group is all over the place and you've gotta catch up and slap down a few quick heals.

The Fury is a great PvP class!

I am lev19 now and I think we kick butt. I can take on most anythig unless they are 8 above but if they are with in 4 I feel that I can win and I can usually take 2 at once if they are even to below. Just dont let them get behind you and master regrowth. Dot, dot, regrowth youll outlast them

Yeah, it's a bit slow at first, but at lvl 23 we get Strike of Thunder, which, at Master II, kicks out well over 600 points of damage. On more than one occasion, I've taken down an entire 5 or 6 person group of blue-conned enemies on my own. So, in short, we do very, very well.

Lvl 29 fury on Venekor here.

I have to say its, well, not rough, but not particularily good either until you get your first nuke. I chose it as my master 2 choice at lvl 24, and with crit hits from AA's, have nuked for over 1k. The majority of folks that are green to you are 1 shotted which makes you pretty powerful.

It depends on your style i guess. It has become pretty clear in my mind that the scouts of the world will own all at later lvls. (there really just is no replacing semi decent hp's, semi decent miti, quick dps, track, invis, and evac on pvp). I can only imagine a swash/brigand in the 50+ world. Anyways...wrong forum for that.

Furies/Wardens are imo, the best pvp'ers amongst the priests.

I'm level 25 now. With M2 Strike of Thunder, things become very good for us. I'm based on Qeynos and I've lost count of the number of times I've "seen" invisible green FPs running around and I 1 shot them with this. I don't seek them out but if they cross my path in Ant then they are dead.

I'm looking forward to some heal upgrades soon though, because my current set are starting to become sub-par, especially because I have a mix of app1-ad1s.

Furies are a solid class, probably one of the better pvp classes around.

What I've noticed as a significant drawback - while in groups or against blatent enemies we fare well... but against the mutitudes of hidden wizards and assasin we become prime target as suddenly "orange assasins" appear out of nowhere and we have to stop in order to cast... sure if you get snare off and it works you can throw your DoTs on and make a good fight of yourself but in the early levels you are wander around with the word: "Prime target" standed on your forehead. If snare doesn't land your dead; or you are running away as fast as your little legs can take you.

I'm pretty new to my Fury...Boli, we have see invis, you can see them from miles offThe description says "See Stealth". Does it also see invis?Something made me think that invis and stealth were 2 different things.Of course, I'll likely never know, since I team with a Wizzy, so have both See Stealth and See Invis on me at all times.Yeah, love my snare, wish it was a quicker case, or cast-on-the-run.--Plague

Well let me add my 2c worth, I have a 40 Fury on Nek server and that is one of the main reasons I chose Fury on Venekor, my Fury there is now up to level 22. IMHO we rock in PvP combat, I've taken down duo's that conn yellow to me. But to have a snare that was cast on the run would be heaven.

The see stealth is great, alot of times I fake them out and let them think I can't see them till they're about to try and backshot me (not that there are many scout types out there, lol) then it's snare, dot, dot, hot, snare (cause this is where they always start to run), dot, dot, collect prize from their dropped chest. Can't wait for the nuke at 23 though, and in the 30's we get an awesome group nuke, Starburst I think.

My best advice is stick with it and learn the class, we are very survivable in combat and often come out on top. Upgrade your spells as best (and fast) as you can. I've been lucky most of my spells are now at adept 3, it's taken a ton of harvesting to get them there but well worth the effort.

By the way, I'm also a sage, currently level 20 and I craft often to keep up with my spell upgrades, so if any of you Furies on Venekor need spell upgrades, send a /tell or mail to Flynt and I'll make them for you at little more than the cost of fuel.

Good luck and good hunting to all.

In my experience we can see both stealth and invis. I've seen solo casters and solo scouts in stealth form.

As 42 fury I'm they highest fury on Darathar and say we can pretty much win every fight. Just monks and swashies with their stuns are a bit tricky

Crane, how are you coping with runners? If I play it sneaky and stick to DoTs most of the fight it's usualy ok, but the second I drop the bomb they are running like buggery.
