I Personally, a 45th seasoned fury am doing quite well at PVP..... at my current Level, I have no problem taking on people 46-51st level. and I rarely lose.

My Strategy is just to damage sheild / buff up completely, and I just cast wild bloodflow on myself when I get 60% health or so. continue to do that until the other class is out of power, then begin to dot them and slowly kill them down....works like a charm everytime....the only class I seem to have problems with are Templars, which seem to have the same strategy as I do...and it ends up being an endless duel...it comes down to who regens more mana a tick in combat, or who falls asleep first....as of right now I can easy take people 2-6 levels higher than me depending on the class....In no way shape or form is my gear great either...it is all T5 Normal and some T5 rare....along with some decent jewelery, and a Stoneblade Sword (nothing great)....

I faced a problem with kicks while PvP, they interrupt very much that hardly can cast damage buffs ! so I failed, thats the point we are weak... others are not so bad..... as far as now ......

LvL 50 Fury - sage 43 - Runnyeye server

Yeah, level 44 fury, I managed to kill my friend, the level 50 monk, but it was hard...he kept interrupting me, I mean, how rude....

LVL40 Fury I dualed a lvl50 ranger and almost killed him. He had 120 health when I died. 2 things prevented me from winning. I ran out of mana and I got interrupted...a lot..... But still, I almost took someone 10lvls higher than me.

Would be interested to hear from anyone who has beaten a necro (their level). I cannot beat my regular duo partner, it is like fighting an entire group. His shadowy stalker has interrupts and a stun, plus three rotting packhounds and an additional Ghastly Stench pet make it impossible to heal myself at an adequate rate. He can heal himself and can cast his own power regen stones... just can't get round it!!

I usually porcupine myself while my enemy burns all their power. When it wears off, I heal, and the enemy is at about 40% power. If the enemy is a enchanter/summoner, that's when I lose. Any other class I can win easily from that point.

Well, I did kill a 50 wizzy while I was 49...and I have problems w/ the rest. They interrupted me a lot that I couldnt cast any damage spell and yet when I do have a chance to cast I could only heal myself. Got Axx kicked so bad..... Any suggestions guys?

Something I've been very successful with when dueling the conjurer / necro types is to stifle them off the bat. Throw out a starfire and storms combo immediately. They seem to want to stun and then throw about 80 billion pets at you so keeping that off for as long as possible is a good start. Then I keep up bloodflow and spam when at all possible. Another thing is make sure your in and meleeing on them. It can be hard sometimes with the interrupts from no parry and I'm not guaranteeing 100% victory, but I probably win 2/3's of those fights. Porcupine is also a good to use for damaging those pets.

Stay away from assasins, they have an instant cast unresistable stun. The moment the duel starts, your stunned then they use assasinate on you for the one shot kill.

Its Evil , dual is over in 3 seconds or less. You dont even get a spell off.

So far I have only dueled a few of my friends and my husband. I was 44 at the time and beat the 39 Wizzy fairly easily (no surprise there). Then I fought a 40 Pally, that one took awhile as we were healing ourselves, I just ran her out of power then took her out. I also dueled my husband who was a 46 guardian at the time. We split the duels 1-1. The first time I ran him out of power and took him out. The second match took FOREVER, we were by the dock in the Enchanted Lands just duking it out. We had people going ONE OF YOU DIE ALREADY! LOL. He finally won, him and his stupid bow and arrows, but it was a about a 5-10 minute fight. We were laughing so much as we were fighting.

Fought a 50 Ranger and a 51 Conjuror, lost horribly both times. I doubt I bother to waste the time dueling again.

So far:

Killed:

always use irritating swarm this spell interrupts a [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]load!

Brigand (with ease very fast fight thnx to porcupine)

Paladin (longer fight due to self heals but the dmg they do to you is very low so just let em drain their power)

Conjuror (cast our stiffle instantly and nuke him down as they are mages after all and very fragile, fast fight)

Shadowknight also use porcupine kills em of fairly quick.

Have only fought a templar on beta and it was very easy but that could be cause of the player didnt fully adapt yet to their revamped status

On the whole havent fought any healers as those fights tend to take forever.

Coercers can be a [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] havent fought one yet but they have this spell which turns your own spells against you= nasty.

Dont really think a melee class has a big chance against us (maybe assasins excluded due to their assasinate) if you stiffle casters on the fly they too can be dropped quickly (also irr swarm is very important here).

Id say furies are very, very good at pvp due to our dmg shields interrupts/dots, heals and dmg output.

Dueling IMO is something to do for fun, some classes just don't shine in soloing / dueling like they will in raids though (by design) so I think it's important to keep that in mind. Just because a class isn't the king of dueling doesn't mean they're any less "good." Now, with that said I have some suggestions. If you're dueling another priest, don't even bother if he/she has a screaming mace and you don't. It's a war of attrition you're going to lose - if you both have a SM you may want to both agree to not use it lest the battle take a decade - heh. Regardless use that irritating swarm every time it's up, it may not account for a HUGE amount of power loss, but it adds up (not to mention interrupts). My suggestion, and IMO this is KEY if you're fighting an assassin is demand that you duel best of three matches. It's hard for them to argue that best of three isn't fair, more to the point just accept the fact that it only takes the one time for them to manage to get behind you for a second and hit Assassinate and it's all over, one-hit kill (generally). It's on a fifteen minute timer though, so get that loss out of the way and own them the next two times. Also hugely important is keep those DoTs up on the stealthers as this breaks their stealth and limits their DPS, I also find Snare to be helpful as it slows them down (making it harder for them to run behind you). Seriously assassins are driving me insane *grin*. So far that's the extent of my dueling experience but I'd say we're one of the top dueling classes no doubt.

Message Edited by darkshmoo on 09-22-2005 07:05 PM

I'm a level 51 Fury. I've started dueling today and here are my results. Level 50 Beserker: No sweat (killed him twice) Level 49 Warlock: No sweat (resisted his spells and nuked him 2 -3 times) Level 51 Guardian: No sweat (he had some T6 rare armor) Level 51 Pally: Lost to both different players. This is where both times we're both down to red and out of mana BUT they seemed to get the extra mana power.. sigh. My second fight was much longer than the first, I should have used manastone when I was almost full health and he was yellow. Both Pallies had ebon / fabled armor / weapons. Any recoomendations / advice / tips ? I have the following Masters and Adept 3s: Master 2: Feral Salve (heals target for 432 - 52 Master 1: Ferine Elixir (heals target for 763 - 933) Adept 3: Incomparable Predator (STA and AGI +79) Adept 3: Spirit of the Bat (AGI +18.9 / increases In-Combat 9.4 per tick / Max Power +4 Adept 3: Ferine Spirit (INT and WIS +50) Adept 3: Vim (INT +72 / Max Power +400) All my other spells are Adept 1 (including Bolt of Storms 772 - 1287) God I love this spell. Stats: HP: 3198 Power: 3356 Attack: 692 (I still use screaming mace) Mit: 1570 Avoid: 30.1% STR: 134 AGI: 205 STA: 162 INT: 193 WIS: 220 (232 when using ring of wisdom buff, also gives Power 3409) I would also like to know what should be my next Adept 3 spell for T5.

Ok no one seems to have mentioned this so far but i find its pretty key. Go out and buy yourselves a solid set of Int. gear. This can raise the power of your nukes by 200-300 each, that builds up when fighting healer classes or anyone you might have to outlast, i pwned the guild pally with this and the tip that fallows. Also on what some might consider a cheaper note, use your clarity pots, pop one off right away and then use it as much as possable this can be a huge deciding factor.

Akinor Ambindel 52 fury befallen
