i am confused: i thought the spell spirit of the bat is only available after finishing some quests from the bloodline chronicles. so i worked my way through the dungeons and finally was able to buy the crafting books from the merchant at the waterfall in nek. and now i see that the very same crafting book is available for everyone in the crafting societies! since when is this available for everyone? i have read old posts in this forum and here i only have found that it is ONLY available after finishing these quests!

are the special spells from splitpaw also available for everyone? where do i get them? what are these spells? what is the other spell of bloodline? where and when will i get this one?

A sage with the recipe scribed need to make Spirit of the Bat for you.

The splitpaw spell is almost 100% useless, but if you want it anyway. You need to finnish the splitpaw quests so you can get your call of splitpaw, after that you can buy the spell from the merchant inside splitpaw.

Spirit of the bat:

Druid (fury or Warden) lvl 35 spell.

A spell that must have a group member as target. Is a buff that give some Agi and power regen and power pool.

It's receipt can be purchased at comon tradeskillers instances. (The first tradeskill you go in) there are two versions. The normal (till App IV) and the advanced (requires an Opal and is Adept III) As a mana regen spell it's basic!!!

So you must ask a sage. Not every sage knows how to do it, cause It's not a normal spell. Do not apears at monsters drops (normal advanced sage books) or buyed a scholars tradeskill instanced (normal essencials sage books) It must be buyed at the basic artisan tradeskill society.

I hope I helped you

Message Edited by enrique_tome on 04-25-2006 06:29 AM

i was aware what the spell can do. i have it. adept 3! but the information i got on this forum and on other eq2 sites was, that i only can access the crafterbook which has this spell inside after i have completed the bloodline chronicles quests. so i have done the quest and was able to buy the crafterbook from the merchant at the waterfall in nek. if i had would known this i could have bought this spell earlier!

The bloodline chronicles spells can be made and/or scribed even if you dont have the expansion pack. It has always been this way.

Spirit of the Bat is the Bloodlines one (Agi and Power buff) , Bounty of the Virtuous is the Splitpaw one (heal that scales with you, with a proc to add power in combat ....if it procs). The Bloodlines spells (except for Devastation Fist - the brawler spell) are available to alchemists and sages in tradeskill....the BoV is the one you have to quest in Splitpaw.

Spirt of the Bat is a spell I use all the time - and don't agree that Bounty of the Virtuous is 'useless'. But that's why I like reading these boards. Everyone plays differently!

Yah, Spirit of bat is far from useless. flowing thought 9+? 18 agi, 98 power, no concentration...yah that spell is useless ( sarcasm)

i am aware of all these facts.
the reason of my post was: why are the crafter recipes available at the wholeseller although it's said to be a expansion pack spell. i have not known it and a lot of people don't know that either. i have checke this forum and never have found the information "go to the wholeseller and buy the crafter recipe" - everyone just said you need to make quests from the expansion but then be able to give this recipe to every sage. if i had known that i can buy this crafter recipe at the wholeseller i would have done it and didn't have to do the bloodline quests.

very very misleading information everywhere.

Thanks for the info about the stats

I was just curious because it's an awesome "free" spell that we didn't originally have and I would love an upgrade of it if it was available, which I assume there is not. I'm not complaining, I'm happy to have it, any power regen is welcome

sorry to be picky arielle, but it's non-conc afaik. We've got the magic/physical mit, elemental/health, agi/wis and the wis/power ones as conc. slots (wis/power one on two targets when max buffed obviously ) and the rest dont take conc. but can only go on one target

GAH..sorry... Thanks for the correction. I'm thinking of agi/wis - (which is similar) and does take a conc. (eek)
