Well, perhaps I missed it in the notes or all the other spam about the combat changes but our heals are linked once again. Meaning you cannot cycle a old version of a arch heal with the highest you can cast. Same for the ameloration lines. This sorta hits hard cause there are a lot of cases I MUST do this or low hp folks just die. <div></div>

This change happened a month ago in beta. <div></div>

I remember when they did this same thing when talents/traits came out and they removed it. It's really gonna make healing people with low health majorly harder. Guess they want all groups to have 2 healers now. <div></div>

So far I can live with the changes (although I havent checked every spell yet) but this one struck me really hard. Now my spell book is cluttered with direct healing spells - but I can only use two of them? Awwww.<span>:smileymad: This is really bad.<span>:smileysad:</span> </span> <div></div>
Get the SPS Healing spell. It will bring you bak to the "past." ;p <p>Message Edited by Matek on <span class=date_text>09-14-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:16 PM</span>

<DIV>"I'm sure the cast heals are the same for all other healers as well so it won't effect just us. Course I'm assuming I dont play any other healer class."</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Actually this is incorrect. Most Inquisitors heals are on different timers after the patch. My wife's 44 inquisitor had no problem cycling through her 3 "main" types of healing spells, while my templar friend, had his greyed out everytime he cast one of them.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It sounds like to me, that templars are having the same problem right now that mystics did 6 months ago. With spells that Shouldn't be on the same timer, that are.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am hoping SOE will fix this, so my templar friend won't let me die <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

SPS = Splitpaw healing spell? It's been hopelessly bugged and resisted almost everytime I try to cast it. That's the situation at 50 anyways. The problem is it has a magic proc that gets resisted therefore no heal. This is fixed? I'll have to try it.

at lvl 26 my templars best direct heal only does a little over 200points... I could really use another direct heal not linked <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

Can anyone else confirm that inq's dont have their quick heals all linked together as well as their slow heals linked together? Do we know if this was intended for us or for everyone or a bug like back when traits/talents were introduced and later fixed? <div></div>

<DIV>I can confirm it, with my wife's level 44 inquisitor. Her 2 "main" heals are not linked, and neither is her reactive.</DIV>

<P>Um, wait a minute. Inquisitors' quick [2 sec] single-target heals are linked together. Inquisitors' slow [3 sec] single-target heals are linked together. Inquisitors' single-target vitae heals are linked together. Thus, only 3 different single-target timers [excluding our emergency insta-heal]. So yes, we are in the same boat regarding fewer heals. By the way, our splitpaw heal is considered a quick-heal, and is thus linked with the other quick-heals. On our boards, many of us have been discussing how we are using our group direct and vitae heals more often now, to supplement our single-target heals...not enough timers to heal the non-tanks with single-target heals and keep our tank up also on tough fights.</P> <P>Also, we inquisitors have some nice debuffs [ reduces strength and intelligence, to lessen melee and casting damage ] to help counter our reduced heal timers. I'm afraid I'm not up on Templar spells, but do you have similar debuffs/damage reducers to make up for fewer heal timers?</P> <P> </P> <P>Erronn</P> <P>49 Inquisitor</P>

<P>I must have misunderstood the question. All 3 of her main heals are on seperate timers (slow, fast and reactive). I was under the impression that someone wanted to know if all of their heals were linked now.</P> <P>I had the same problem with my defiler. A patch, many months ago linked all of our wards. It was later fixed.</P>

<P>Yes, I think you did misunderstand the question. The OP was asking if we felt having only the 3 timers now was intended.</P> <P>The original question stated this:<BR></P> <BLOCKQUOTE> <HR> Meaning you cannot cycle a old version of a arch heal with the highest you can cast. <P></P> <HR> </BLOCKQUOTE><BR> <P>I take this to mean all arch heals [ big, slow heals ] are linked together, on same timer...Minor Arch Healing [level 4]is linked with Intolerant Healing [level 46]. Similarly, all fast heals are linked together, and finally all reactive heals are linked together [single-target].</P> <P> </P> <P>This was not always the case pre-CU...many spells in the same line were not linked, and thus we could cast more heals in a shorter time, helping mainly to free up heal timers for keeping the non-tank alive.</P><p>Message Edited by Erronn on <span class=date_text>09-16-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:58 AM</span>

Thank you Erron for confirming what I thought. It's throughout the entire priest classes =( I didn't think it would be just templars. As to the fella asking what debuffs we have, we have a minus to physical mitigation we can put on mobs and then the involuntary healing/mark of princess lines(these 2 not really debuffs). At 44 I do not have any other debuffs I can use. <div></div>

<DIV>If you have to heal your tank and that crazy nuking wizard and just dont feel like letting the wizard die, cast a group heal, I believe it is the same amount of power as casting 2 heal spells.</DIV>

<P>Yes, Temp heals are linked now, we can only really use 2 direct heals. Also, the Splitpaw heal spell that you can buy is useless, since it is linked to the ameloration spell line, as well. So since it does less healing than my ameloration, and the mana regen NEVER procs for me, it went strait to the back of my book. I hope this is either something they did not intend to do, or something they will soon realize is a mistake and change back to the way it was before.</P> <P>Edit - Group heal is very useful now, and I find myself using it even if the tank is the only one taking damage because I simply can not wait for the other two direct ones to refresh....</P><p>Message Edited by Terabethia on <span class=date_text>09-20-2005</span> <span class=time_text>01:05 PM</span>

<DIV>I dont think having the heals linked again is a bug. I would expect that this is as the designers intended.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Personally, it has taken me a bit to get used to my new spells, but honestly, it is very infrequent for me to be in a situation where I cant cast a heal cause Im waiting for a direct to recover. I have had to really change my style, and Im finding that Im using spells that I used to use only rarely, but I still see myself as a very powerful healer.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A lot of people are complaining that they cant do what they used to be able to do. One - it may be that they never should have been able to do what they used to do. or Two - They havent figured out how to play their class within the new combat changes, which to me means that they need to stop complaining and rather go play their class and figure it out.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My templar finally feels like a templar. She can do some pretty amazing things with agro dumping and I love my soothe spell. I can heal tanks like crazy, and when things get crazy in a group, I can typically save everyone's flaming bleep quite effectively. I love my battle rez. (And, it's getting nice that others are starting to recognize that the templar should be doing the rezzes, now. And, not these quasi rezzers that used to do it)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I dont mind that I cant usefully cast bestowal of vitae any more. I have lots and lots of heal spells. I have lots and lots of tricks up my heavy plate sleeves. I play my templar differently now, but she's still the same healing powerhouse she's always been.</DIV>
<DIV>One more thing.. Dont forget we have our 2 instant heals. I know they are long timers. but if the tank accidently pulled a named and another group.. you can shave his/her ... umm.. hide with both of those.. follow with harmony if you get aggro =))...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Elder</DIV>
