Guys.....i've recently come back to eq/eq2 after spending the last 9 months playing WoW. Basically my main complaint about WoW was the lact of end game content and how cookie cutter everything was. It was hilarious to see 30 warriors in Ironforge running around with the exact same armor and weapons! My guild and I farmed Onyxia and farmed Molten Core. I was MT and wanted to try a caster this time so I'm rolling templar. Anyways last night I just gained lvl 10 and I was reading these forums and notice everyone saying "OMG i didn't pick group cure!!!". Well last night I hit lvl 10 and i picked improved arch healing instead of group cure. Am i screwed?? Can i still pick group cures later on? If it's that big of a deal I'll just start a new toon since i'm only lvl 10.....<span>:smileyindifferent:</span> <div></div>
<DIV>I wouldn't fret to much right now. First off the combat/class rebalancing when it goes live will have a respec with it. That has been confirmed by SOE. Second I wouldn't be suprised if every priest class gets a group form of status cures of all types as regular spells. That has been hinted at, but unconfirmed. Finally every priest gets a chance at the group noxious cure. Until you get to mid 30s about the only use for the group one is to quickly remove poison DOTs from treasure chests that didn't get disarmed.</DIV>

<P>When it comes to being part of a raiding guild it's a big deal, because if you don't have those abilities to cure the nasty stuff that hits the group in a raid, well your not as good as the guy that does.</P> <P>Also, when you think of the abilities. That improved arch healing will be good for awhile, but when you get higher in level you'll get a natural spell thats better then it. You will never get a spell that's better then the group cure spell. At least not now, maybe the expansions will have something.</P> <P>The only group cure I would say isn't worth it is Cure Trauma. I've never seen a raid target that put this on a whole group and it last long enough to make curing it needed. </P> <P>I took all the group cures except cure trauma, and to this day at level 50 I use them most every day of the week. </P>
<DIV>Not a big deal, you can respec when you actually need them because you will have your respecs unused.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I didn't pick them myself, on my respec when it came out, but in my guild we have a lot of people who have them. The warden that's usually in main tank group with me has the ones I don't. Once the respec comes out, I will be very happy to pick them though.</DIV>
Blast2hell, you need to look at his situation though. He just turned level 10. He won't be in a situation where he will need them like you do or any t5 priest does for a while unless he power levels like a mofo. Granted it wouldn't take more than a couple hours to get back to level 10 if he really wanted. It might put him a level or two behind friends he started with if they don't want to help him get through those t1 levels or wait for him. There is a respec coming and also potentially a base version for all priests to have group cures. Trust me the other priest classes do complain quote a bit about it, and I can agree with them and the fact that they should gain access to them too. Unless we don't ge teh combat changes for another several months I think he will be alright without the group noxious. Besides it's the one every priest has, so a templar missing it, will not be the end of the world.

Your right, and hence I didn't advise him to restart. I was just trying to briefly state the impact of the choice. I guess I should made clear that he probably will only feel the pain of the choice on treasure chests till he starts raiding. Although, with that respec coming with combat changes, I would just continue to level and respec when it's made available and choose noxious cures then if we don't get them due to combat revamp automatically.

K, cool...so we all have a /respec...and we might be getting one for free from SOE. So nothing i can't fix....I'll hold off on making any changes now but when it starts getting to be a requirement i'll respec to add "cure group" Thx all :O <div></div>

<DIV>imo, instead of waiting another month and use that respec, i suggest just restart the char...it wont take more than a day to get back to 10</DIV>
<DIV>Re-roll your char. Its best to keep a re-spec available if you can that way if you determine you made a mistake you can always use it at that time.</DIV>

<DIV>Just for clarification you only get a /respec if your character was created before the respec patch back in Feb (16th i think).</DIV>

<div></div>You can get to 10 in a few hours. <b>Re-roll</b> so when/if you get a respec you can save it until later in your EQ2 career when there may be other issues in your character's progression you want to correct. on edit: hightlighted RE-ROLL<p>Message Edited by bigmak2010 on <span class=date_text>08-05-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:43 PM</span>

well you can either wait for the inevitable respec that is otw come september or reroll the toon since you have not likely invested much time or money into it... the thing about the group cures is that they will never be rendered obsolete and they are awesome for regular group play as well as raid play... while they are all pretty cool, every single priest class is given the option of the mass nox cure so if you didnt get it it wont be the end of the world as most other priests like <i>do</i>... then again... all throughout the game there are those annoying nox traps on the chests which effect the entire group and its way nicer to heal all 6 of y'all in one go rather than one at a time with a 6 second wait in between... <div></div>
