<div></div><div></div>Prior to last Thursday's/Friday's nerfs I could beat this guy. Since then; I can get him to red sliver of health and OOP; me with 3 or more bars of health and OOP -- he melees me for 200 to 300 per hit and I melee him for 30. Big surprise; I always die. I think functional GEBs (now useless) may have left me enough power to get the few big smites needed at the end to finish him off -- now I have to deal with melee and since armor's mit still has no meaning = dead templar. Is there a L50 templar with 'normal' gear (not all fabled and not with several stacked power regens) that was found a way to kill this guy the majority of the time? sort-of side note: has anyone else noticed imbued procs not working in that instance? on edit 7/6: imbued items were proc'ing again last night. Will be trying this again tonight using tactics here. Thanks!on edit 7/7: killed 'em twice last night applying some of the strategies here! WOOHOO! <div></div><p>Message Edited by bigmak2010 on <span class=date_text>07-07-2005</span> <span class=time_text>07:05 AM</span>
I'd say invest in an imbued wand. The nukes they have are slow casting but they don't use power. That might be the little edge you need though.

<DIV>Get the Screaming Mace. I still don't have a screaming mace myself, but if I ever bother to get it, I will let you know how that works for me at level 50. Not sure if you have one already though.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Procs work fine at my level. I posted what I did to kill him at level 46, and now am 47 and the same strategy works. I think I am 5 for 5 - that's a lot of flaming pig heads on my wall... Worked on my strategy a bit, and now am able to kill him in under 5 minutes by chaining HO's with low tier spells till I got lucky and landed Blessing of Faith which seems to appear more often now. Personally, I have gnoll masters smite, so that helps a lot too when it is up. Last killed him monday, so not sure what changes on thursday and friday made him unkillable....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Bliss 47 Templar, Nektulos</DIV>

<DIV>It takes a while but here's how I beat him.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Gear: Wearing my gebs, and regular heavy armor (some ebon, dearlings bp, nothing fabled).</DIV> <DIV>Spells: Intercession is adept 3, reproach adept 3, buffs mostly adept1 with valor and shielding faith adept 3. Glory of combat is adept1.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>First, buff up (duh), also cast glory of combat and praetorate. Hit myself with Crucial and call out the champ.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Strike him with reproach and start beating on him with my lame 35.0dps 1h weapon. When crucial wears off use first insta reactive heal allowing 15 minute timer to restart. Keep beating with stick. When first insta wears off cast second insta reactive heal (the group one) and let 15 minute timer restart. Keep beating with stick. Cast Greater intercession when insta wears off. Keep beating.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Rinse and repeat. Forget about nuking, you'll run outta mana. Yes, it took about 30 minutes. Don't forget to keep reproach up, renew glory, and use the insta's as they renew to save power.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Finished him off with 40% power and 100% health.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
That's why I suggested using an imbued cedar wand. I have the one that casts divine strike as it works well with reproach. It's a no power 300 pt hit on average with a 6 second cast time, and no recast time so it can be chained as needed. TI also can be used on the run to kite (I know BAD KITERS), but it is a tool available if yo feel you need it.

<P>Only level 45, but I have absolutely no problems using the following strategy (beat him last night with nearly 40% power to spare, actually):</P> <P> </P> <P>Remember, we're not a DPS class, so we have to rely on our power use. Here's what I did:</P> <P>1. Acquire any possible Mana regen device you have available to you. If this is summoned regeneration items from conjurors or necromancers, or totems, or manastones, or potions, do what you can.</P> <P>2. Set up your LOWEST smite spell. If you have gnoll mastery of some kind, use that. Set up that lowest smite and ignore everything else.</P> <P>3. Pick and choose the debuffs you have that are going to result in the best bang for your power consumption. Try to stick with spells that will lower damage upon you, or potentially lower mitigation or divine resistances. ONLY pick one or two (I used Reproach pretty much exclusively). Make sure they don't use too much power. If you can afford to use a hex totem for STR debuff, do so.</P> <P>4. If you can, get a high rated weapon to use, preferably with a proc (imbued weapons work, some heritage). I use a Pristine Imbued Fulginate Battle Hammer paired with a Pristine Imbued Cedar Buckler (total cost was around 35 gold on Guk - costs tend to be lower on weekends).</P> <P>5. Pick your most mana efficient healing system. For Templars, ONLY our group healing reactive spell should be used typically. It's high power use, but it's the most efficient healing method overall.</P> <P>6. Make sure you have full health, power, and full healing buffs prior to the fight. (should be a no-brainer, right?)</P> <P>Once you start the fight, pull with a debuff and then start using combat wheels. Trigger, smite, smite. Trigger, smite, smite. Trigger, smite, smite. You're relying upon the power of the heroic opportunities for almost all of your damage. <STRONG>Do NOT engage in melee up front</STRONG> as the champion will be using a damage shield. Wait till his power drops and his shield dissapates (you'll see it happen). Then begin meleeing in addition to the trigger, smite, smite. If you can/want to use your gnoll mastery, do so. Don't forget to cure yourself on occasion as he'll use lots of disease based DoT's throughout the fight. If you have items for regeneration of power, use those EVERY CHANCE YOU GET.</P> <P>Now, this is important. Use your most efficient group reactive ONLY AT 50-60% health. </P> <P>Remember, from a priest standpoint, you're on the defensive the entire fight. You're not going to overwhelm him with damage. You're going to have to wear him down...mostly with whatever melee you can muster...while you just keep yourself standing. The goal is to come up with the most efficient manner of standing longer than him, which flies in the face of the traditional melee/scout/mage tactic of dropping the enemy before he hurts you too badly. </P> <P>We're priests. We heal. Use that as the basis of your tactic. It took me 5 failures to figure that out. Now, the champion drops every time for me. It takes 20 minutes each time, but oh yes, he drops...every time.</P>

<P>I really like Kend's strategy.</P> <P>I got owned by champ, only got him to like 65%. The reason was I was using my current smites/hammers etc. which are high mana usage. I am going to try your strategy and hopefully I can kill him!</P> <P> </P> <P>Also, I just want to clarify; No Melee until the Champ is out of power? When do I start using melee attack?</P> <P> </P> <P>I have one very simple tip to add. If you have a Manastone, try casting Group Reactive as well as Single Reactive on yourself, then use manastone. Bam, you have 2 reactives on you and you have 100 percent power (hopefully)</P> <P> </P>

I beat him on very difficult by taking him straight up. My only damage came from melee and Symbol of Corruption, while keeping MoK and Reproach up the entire time, along with Greater Intercession the entire time and using the manastone every single chance I got. This strategy will SHOULD work for everyone on the normal difficulty, but for very difficult, I daresay most people won't be able to pull it off. It was quite a hard fight for myself, and I've got ebon armor, prismatic, runed combine talisman (7 regen), GEB's, and some fabled and legendary jewelry, along with almost every single spell I use being adept3 with a few master's as well. <div></div>

<DIV>Nice write-up... most people following that should have no problem whatsoever on the normal difficulty. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I can't add to that at all... that strategy, manastone, and patience should allow any level 50 templar with Gebs to defeat him with no problem. On normal difficulty, I found Caulria refreshes my health each time it's available to click, just as fast as he can take it, so it's only a matter of waiting it out. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So far I'm 5 for 5 on normal, 1 for 1 on hardest and 0 for 2 on medium. For some reason I just can't seem to beat the middle difficulty, I'm not sure if it's a scaling issue or luck. </DIV>

<P>Well, I died to champ twice. Both times he was about 35 percent health with like 0-2 percent power. I used Greater Intercession to heal when needed, and I cast HO, Smite (lowest power nuke) and Gnoll Master Smite.</P> <P>I also buffed with a +17 STR/STA potion and was drinking high level 40 food.</P> <P>I had manastone and Elixer of Clarity equipped for mana. I just couldnt seem to take this guy.</P> <P> </P> <P>any more suggestions? </P>

My 37 conj is running around with a Pristine Flame imbued oak wand, and it rocks. The only downside is the 8 min cast timer. My pet takes damage, so I never have to worry about getting killed myself. However, I don't think Templars have much use for wands in this case because they have to keep healing themselves constantly, and once you start to cast your wand you can't cancel it. Try kiting <span>:smileywink:</span> <div></div>

I did beat him at 42 after 3rd try. First time he just surprised me, and I was dead when he was at 50%. Second time i was more carefull, but didn't really work out. He was at 1% or so when I lost it. 3rd time and win, here's what I did: Potions used: Agility (little more Avoidance can't hurt), the physical mitigation one, the poison/disease mitigation one, and the +max health one. Couldn't find a Damageshield one. For in combat, had also a Clarity one, and a Health regen one. I also used the two Wands from the D'Morte adventure pack, one is a 500ish heal, one a 500'ish ward. Very usefull for this. My gear is average, so mostly Fulginate, some (monster dropped) Ebon plate. The BP is imbued though, and the healing proc helps. Manastone only heritage used, and only legendary is my Cedar wand, thought imbued (mental blast). Spells used are all Adept 1, only Adept 3 is Admonishing smite. Pre buff with reactives of course, make sure you are 100% mana before enganging. Reproach and Mark of Princes as detrimental spells used on him. These have to be up all the time. First HO was Admonishing + Gnoll Master Smite. Then from there on Admonishing + Lv1 Smite. After a minute had passed, nicely noticeable when Reproach and Mark needed to be reapplied, again one HO with the Master Gnoll Smite, not so much for damage, but for debuff and slow. Healing down with group reactive only, and as a previous poster said, dont use this too early. Yeah, its a bit tricky if you get interupted, but you certainly dont want to waste mana at all by overhealing. Also used Manastone when group reactive was up. Towards the end of the fight, when I was getting below 20% mana, used only the Imbued Wand for damage, mana for healing. Some notes: - I found his casting to be fairly weak. Sure, it does damage, what he got much more dangerous IMO when he was dry... his autoattack hitting for 100-200 every so often. - To Stammie: the imbued wand is quite usefull actually for Templars in this case. Sure it takes 6 seconds. But with the group reactive running you should have enough time to let that work while you use the wand. If he blows through it in 6 seconds, you have no chance anyway <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

<div></div>To cancel a wand casting. Sit. (Then immediate stand else you will take a zero defence attack from enemy, which will auto-stand you up.) I beat the champ first time. I didnt wear gebs. I wore Drudo's Kickin boots for the Agility buff. I have no real high end gear, nothing fabled. No Damage shield potion (Although this would help). I did use Clarity potion 2x. Manastone everytime its up. <a href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer.vm?characterId=209642203" target="_blank">Me</a> 1. Rule 1, you want to reduce the DPS of your opponent. This is going to be a LONG fight (Mine was over 11 mins). Open with and maintain Weakness and Infirmity. Weakness at the very least. 2. Chain nuke HO using lvl 3 smite. This spell is like the old cleric stun from EQ1. It lands on everything. Plus it has a fast cast an recast. Mana cost is nearly free. 3. Get a shield. If you don't have a shield, get one. 4. You will be spending a large majority of your fight in casting. Thus the MARK line is worthless. You will not be melee'n enough to warrent keeping it up. 5. Curate. The curate line though is a boon. Keep it up at all times on the opponet as they love to merrily beat on you. 6. While the benefits of keeping Reproach up may not seem worth it. The increase in HO Damage makes it worth it. (Now if they would [Removed for Content] fix the AC debuff to make it worth a toss, old Reproach showed a sliding scale of 440-610 Master1 Reproach is 530...) I also stack Rebuke as the Divine HO gets an increase in damage. 7. BoV and Soothing Sermon. (Adept3 these, I still use them) ------------------------------------ If you still have problems. Get a Damage shield potion. Last 3 mins. Get a Power Pool potion for +147 to power (Non rare, its 197) Eat Fudge for +150 power. Keep a T5 Drink up too. I usually use the 30-50 minute kind as 5 of them are cheaper then 1 that has equal duration and I dun waste it during the afk times. Screaming Mace is IMO the best weapon for healers ingame at the moment. The Prismatics regen = 1 screaming proc every 2 minutes, which I usually exceed. This however is simply opinion and playstyle I prefer. Remember keep him weakened. Spam lvl 3 smite HO, turn on auto-attack if you have a screaming mace, it all helps. The Damageshield he has will not be a large problem as you will be in casting mode 80% of the fight. Once his Power is gone maintaining your HP should be easy to do with Sooth an BoV. Then just HO-slap him down. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Elmomo on <span class=date_text>07-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:28 AM</span>

<P>I didn't realize templars were having trouble with this guy. Well let me list what I did, and I'll also list what I'm going to do in the future after reading this post.</P> <P> </P> <P>First I prebuffed with Caulria's Symbol of Vitae, Greater Intersession (adept 3), and Crucial intersession (adept 3). I have a manastone and absolutely no regen gear. I wear full ebon except a WIS forearm piece and Crystas Boots of Inquistion. I naturally buff myself with all our buffs, so Valor, Symbol of Pinzarn, Shielding Faith, Praetorate, and Sacred Redoubt. At the time of the fights I also had no damage armor or proc weapons. My ebon bp is imbued though.</P> <P> </P> <P>So, I pulled him with Reproach, and turned my melee on(won't do this in the future due to DS, now I know). I burned some power off, and then hit the manastone right away since the reactives that were still up were easily filling my health bar and thereby being wasted. I chained HO's and kept warring faith on him. When I got low on power, and was down to straight melee, I only meleed and would cast a reactive on myself as I lost health. Basically I just watched my power bar, and when I regened enough power to cast Greater Intersession I did, usually I was down to 30-45% health by the time I had enough power for Greater intersession. Though sometimes he would drop my health fast enough that I didn't think I'd live to gen the power needed for Greater Intersession so Instead I casted Caulria's Symbol. Whenever I got worried about him beating me too hard, I used one of the Instant clicks. When I used resolve though I hit the manastone right away. As this absorbs all the damage from the manastone. Combined with Occasional procs from Glory of Combat this never failed me. Even the first time I did the instance when the pit champion wasn't known to all as being tuff.</P> <P>Now I bought a cedar imbued wand, a cedar imbued shield. I got a Master 1 Focused Benefaction, and Adept 3 on all my buffs and my T5 DDs. So he should be a lot easier. </P> <P> </P> <P>From the above posts, I decided to buy Cedar imbued gear, and not melee when his DS is up. Thanks for the tips guys, and hopefully my tips can help someone also.</P><p>Message Edited by Blast2hell on <span class=date_text>07-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:17 AM</span>

<P>I wear all my HA armor, no fable. Had GEB and Screaming mace. Pulled it with MoK</P> <P>Buff self with redoubt, GoC, etc. I just melee and use warring faith and kill him slowly. I rather save power for single reactive heals than nuking too much. This is how I did it lol - slow and steady</P>

<P>I've killed the champ dude without much problem on the three difficulties (post bug fix where he actually scales properly) and here is what I do (which isn't too different from what has been posted so far, but figured I'd add my 2cp anyway).</P> <P>My equipment isn't spectacular, only one fabled from a single group encounter and stuff anyone can get really.. (<A href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer.vm?characterId=102363101" target=_blank>http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer.vm?characterId=102363101</A>)</P> <P>the spells I use:</P> <P>Crucial Intersession Adept3, Smite (app 1, lol), Reproach / Rebuke (adept 3), Cauldaria's Symbol of Vitae (the trait version of BoF) and Greater Intersession Adept3, Focused Benefaction A3, Resolve (master1 rofl but App 1 is the same), Valor A3, Redoubt A3, Symbol A3, Shielding Faith A3, and Praeorate A1.</P> <P>So I talk to the dude to spawn the champ, while the champ is stumblig his way to the arena, I pre-buff with CI, Cauldaria's and GI, by the time he gets in range, I've already recouped my mana pool.</P> <P>To start the fight I pull with Rebuke, then follow up immidately with Reproach. The thought behind it is that Rebuke will allow for Reproach to stick easier so there is less of a chance of wasting mana. </P> <P>The key to winning this battle is to make use of your HO's and utilize the first nuke you get, smite. Smite hits for 18 - 30 damage (whoopie doo) but the HO for me hits on average for 400 damage (yay). All that for 30ish mana.</P> <P>When my HP drops down under 50%, I cast cauldaria's (or GI) and followed by Focused Benefaction. You want to start off with FB because it's a huge mana and life saver because of how fast it casts.</P> <P>Another key is to re-cast reproach before it wears off otherwise it can be hard to get it back on him. You can use MoK or IC but I didn't rely on my melee damage so much and felt the mana was best spent elsewhere. </P> <P>In between the HO's timer, I cast cauldaria's on myself because the mana cost is very minimal and helps spread out the wait for the timers of FB and Crucial Intersession to reset.</P> <P>If FB isn't up and I need to heal (plan early, start at just under 50%) I cast Crucial Intersession because it's much more mana efficient and will get me back to full health (so I can focus my time more on doing damage then healing). Also, if you have a mana stone, use it here because you will still get close to full hp with this spell. The only downfall of CI is that it takes forever to cast, if you find yourself getting interupted and are close to dieing, use your trump card and cast resolve which should give you enough time to cast it. </P> <P>Anyhow, when all is said and done, I've finished the beginners champ with full health and 60% power remaining. On the most difficult champ, I came out with 70% hp and 10% power.</P>

<div></div>Last night tried him 3 times. First time; didn't bump my manastone in time and didn't use shield -- also used my fabled BP instead of my imbued fulginate (healing proc). Switched to shield (pristine cedar) put on imbued BP and used strats here and beat him with about 20% health and almost no mana left. I think the adpt3 buffs really help (all mine are still adpt1) but it wasn't too bad of a fight on normal. I think I'll need to get a few more adpt3 before taking a step up in difficulty... a better weapon too and/or imbued cedar buckler -- then I'll be ready for diff/very diff. BUT... all in all... thanks for the input everyone! Was getting very annoyed at not taking this guy down lately. I was following a tactic similar to the ones here but was using one tier too high smite which was oom'ing me. I also noticed that there's really no need to use the newer infirmity the older tier has almot the exact same effect for about 15 or 20 pts of mana savings. SO... WAS annoyed as hell about this guy now I'm liking it since it forced me to to re-evaluate tactics and learn some new approaches. Still interested in other tactics that work. Most important tactic used... 'Smite' and the next step up Smite on HO's. Also kept reproach, IC, and infirmity (the lower level can't remember the name) on him at all times. First 2/3s of fight bumped caulurias (sp?) every time health dropped below 50% and used manastone once. Last 1/3 of fight bumped a cpl of our butt savers and manastone (i don't remember the names just what they do and where they are on hotbar.. doh!) then turned on auto-attack and kept HO'ing. When I got worried about running out of health (champ at one bar) I still had 2 full bars of power and started dropping the big nukes which killed him mighty quick at that point. Killed him twice. Gonna keep killing that sob until I have a winning record with him.. lol <p>Message Edited by bigmak2010 on <span class=date_text>07-07-2005</span> <span class=time_text>08:11 AM</span>

<DIV>Hail fellow Templars of Qeynos!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Let me begin by saying that I rarely ever post messages, but I do visit here often, and your words concerning our great Templar community inspired me to provide some personal input on this very interesting subject of the nasty Pit Champion who dwells beneath the Steppes. Many of my number have suffered great losses to this beast, and continue to do so. It is with silent pride that I watch those of our chosen priestly path fairing so well against him. If I may, I would like to share my tale with you...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am currently in my 46th adventuring season ((Antonia Bayle RP server)) as leader of the Shadow Slayers (guild level 23), but when I first found myself trapped in "the arena" as it is now known, I was still within my <STRONG>44th</STRONG>. I had heard no tales of this place, but was suddenly challenged from above by a dark gnoll who stood over me in glee, safely out of reach from my weapon I might add, heckling me to take on their challengers. It was his tone that did not set well with me, but I digress. For the light and the Queen, the combatants fell one by one. Twas too bad that the Dwarven Fighter I had just slain had previously aligned himself with the shadow, for he might have proven useful to the light's cause had I reached him sooner. Without further delay, however, they introduced their Champion.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Unfortunately, I have <STRONG>no Manastone or any other items that help me replenish power</STRONG> for that matter, <STRONG>no pristine ebon</STRONG> crafted items, and I <STRONG>did not obtain the gnoll mastery spell</STRONG>. I have been blessed, however, with the <STRONG>fabled Wiseman's Skullcap</STRONG>, acquired from a large chest in Rivervale while slaying some very disagreeable and obviously possessed scarecrows, but that is another story. What had I gotten myself into, friends?! With a silent prayer to Tunare and a muttering of "for the Queen", we engaged in battle after I had refreshed all of my enhancing spells.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Crucial Intercession</STRONG> (adept I) is one of our most incredible powers. I initiated it immediately, followed by the weakening spells of <STRONG>Reproach</STRONG> and <STRONG>Involuntary Healer</STRONG> (both adept I). With a <STRONG>Proudfoot Morningstar</STRONG> and <STRONG>Pristine Imbued Cedar Buckler</STRONG>, I swung at him strongly and repeatedly. I took advantage of <STRONG>constant heroic opportunities</STRONG> and conserved as much power as possible <STRONG>by casting</STRONG> <STRONG>multiple Admonishing Smites</STRONG> (app IV), and made sure he was constantly affected by <STRONG>Warring Faith</STRONG> (adept III). I repeated this and refreshed Crucial Intercession in the middle of our conflict. He began to struggle. <STRONG>Bestowal of Vitae</STRONG> (adept III) would give me the simple boost I needed to stay in the fray and extend the battle, and it was used often. I could tell that the key was to wear him down, and make it a long fight, and a good way to do this is to rely on our spells that consume very little power. By using this strategy, and only those spells listed above, he did indeed fall on our first encounter.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Perhaps you can find some use for this tale. Twas grand to read your previous posts, and I am proud to be a part of this Templar community. Best of luck in all future endeavors. Remember, my friends, darkness cannot exist where there is light. Templars spread this light like a beacon with which our world can hopefully find some comfort in these trying times. Shine On!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://www.shadowslayers.com/" target=_blank>www.shadowslayers.com</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://www.faullen.com/vegalas.gif"></DIV>

ya, buying a Pristine imbued Cedar buckler, and a Pristine magic Imbued cedar wand helped out Immensely. I had full health and like 20% left at the end of the fight, used no Instant click spells this time. Oh and not attacking while he was using his Damage shield too. These three changes to my previous post made a world of difference. I'm ready to try the champion on the harder difficulties.

<P>Hello all,</P> <P>I just defeated him on my third try using the reccomendations here in this board. I am a 44 Templar with non-rare armor and weapon and had only a manastone and a health and power regen potion. Most of my spells are adept 1, no adept 3 heals / buffs at the moment.</P> <P>I did NOT melee him (due to dmg shield) and concentrated solely on healing me till he was OOP what made the healing easier (mainly used the training healing CSV). If I got down very low in health I used greater intercession. When he was OOP I started HOs whenever possible using just my lvl 3 smite to conserve power. It was a long fight but finally I managed to kill him. Yeah!</P> <P>Thanks for all the hints in this thread!</P> <P> </P> <P>Cheers,</P> <P>Ragamor</P><p>Message Edited by Ragamor on <span class=date_text>07-08-2005</span> <span class=time_text>05:28 AM</span>

<DIV>Thanks for all the tips, guys! I was able to defeat the champ on normal difficulty quite handily. Still had about 80% power left! I did get lucky and triggered the power regen HO while fighting him, though. I tried him on Difficult after the timer reset and got him down to 15%. I think if I were to get the power regen HO I could beat him there as well.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am a lvl 45 Templar, no mana regen gear except manastone. No legendary gear.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks again!</DIV>
<DIV> After a frustrating evening harvesting with nary a rare, sigh (ebon hates me<img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ) I decided to Vent and go to SP.<BR><BR>I had Tried the Champ before and died shamefully but This was the <SPAN>Night!</SPAN><BR><BR>I didnt do much special but I do have the Screaming Mace now and hocked tons of stuff i worked very hard to get ( read HQ items I can't equip but <SPAN>Loved</SPAN> displaying) to spend every coin I had except 32 gold plus change to buy an Ebon bp (pristine and imbued).<BR><BR>About all I did was buff up , throw reactives heals on and debuff the champ with reproach, sign of infirmity and i made him heal me with involuntary curate. I stood my ground basically healing if I needed one, refreshed debuffs and meleed until he was out of power. At that point, I started doing HO's using Only my baby-est smite spell, healed as needed and re-did debuffs, meleeing all the while with the SM which helped me gain back some power.<BR><BR>At the end of the fight I had full health and about 40 power, but I was so jazzed it might have been 50 power ! I wasn't smart like kelin and take screenshots, plus I'm not sure how to show them here anyways<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><BR><BR>Welp, that's my story and I'm gonna stick to it !</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Pann Lev 50 Templar</DIV> <DIV>Phantom Knights</DIV> <DIV>Mistmoore</DIV>
<P>I just... went in... an' killed 'em.</P> <P> </P> <P>Then again I guess Prismatic helps a lot. Kudos to yall for doing it without access to raid gear.</P>

Killed him a couple of weeks ago, thanks in <u>large</u> part to the strategies discussed in this thread. Poor widdle me, I'm covered in player-made (nothing imbued) and mostly Adept 1 spells... and no screaming mace <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> What <i>really</i> helped, especially with a fight of 10-ish minutes, was a <b><font color="#993399">manastone</font></b>. By far one of the best tools in the toolbox. Don't leave home without it! Regards to all <div></div>

Don't forget to keep reproach up, renew glory, and use the insta's as they renew to save power.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV><BR> <HR> </BLOCKQUOTE>Why wouldn't you do HO's with Smite. You can pretty much chain those without it eating your power.<BR>

<DIV>Went in yesterday and managed to kill everything up to the champion without any probs. Summoned the champion with everything buffed up including reactives and just let him waste his power on hitting me. Only healed myself, used Radiance, Beneficiance, Resolve and all that stuff. Threw a couple of Warring Faith on him every now and then but saved power for reactives only. Had melee auto-attack on and managed to do some decent damage on him with Hierophants Crook. He was OOP when I had about 40% power left, and that is where I kept healing when necessary and nuke him away happily. Killed him with 80% hp and 10% power after 10 mins max, no probs at all.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Gear is really not too good, and not a single adept 3.</DIV><p>Message Edited by FluffyHeart on <span class=date_text>08-13-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:37 PM</span>
