View Full Version : What do your hotbars look like?

I'm just curious how other necros have their hotbars set up. As I look at my setup now It's pretty apparent that I never really organized them in any kind of logical fashion. I kind of just added new spells and bars wherever I could fit them, and now I'm too used to my strange arrangement to really go about changing it.:smileyhappy:(Oh I actually don't have them in a big block on my screen; I have 2 columns of 3 rows that sit on the black letterbox part at the bottom. It's just that I play 1900x1200 and I dont want people to have to scroll all over the place to see it.)So anyone else wanna post theres?

Mine is alot like Jalek.

I dont use any custom UI, I have my chat boxes on the bottom left and right.

Three hot key bars along the bottom between them with the pet commands and targt windows right above that.

Buffs on each vertical side of the screen and group up along the top.

I have mine on max resolution also since my monitor only seems to look good on that setting.

If you are going to reorganize your hotbars, you might want to consider macroing your master strike spells. You can make one macro that will try to cast each master strike until it finds the one that lands. I keep that and one of the actual hotbuttons on my hotbar just so I can see when the master strike will refresh.

It looks like this:

line 1
: ;usea Goblin Master's Strike ;usea Xmob Master's Strike

line 2
: ;usea Xmob Master's Strike ;usea Xmob Master's Strike

line 3 rinse, repeat (you have to put three on one line to get all 7 but I didn't have a problem with it)

The important thing is that there is a colon at the beginning of the string, then a space, then a semicolon and the command "usea" with no space between. You have to spell out the name of the spell exactly.

Now, go forth and slaughter fairies, gobbies and orcs with only one key!

Message Edited by Azreaelle on 05-04-2006 09:53 AM

That's a really good idea, Azreaelle. Now why didn't I think of that?

Bar 1 -- Start with DoTs, then HO Trigger Followed by nuke and lifetaps.

Bar 2 -- Start with CC, move to debuff and swarm pets, followed by AoE near the nukes in bar 1

Bar 3 -- Start with pets so if I die or it does, I can just "go down the line" to recast it and the buffs for it. Pet heal next to that, utility heals next to that.

Bar 4 -- These are my buffs. Since theyr'e generally only recast on death, they're down to the lower right so they're available if needed, but not in the way.
