From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaNecromancy (Latin necromantia, Greek νεκρομαντία nekromantía) is a form of divination in which the practitioner seeks to raise the spirits of the dead in order to gain knowledge of future events from them, or to acquire special powers from such entities. The word derives from the Greek νεκρός nekrós "dead" and μαντεία manteía "divination". It has a subsidiary meaning reflected in an alternative and archaic form of the word, nigromancy, (a folk etymology using Latin niger, "black" in which the magical force of "dark powers" is gained from or by acting upon corpses. A practitioner of necromancy is a necromancer.
Are the hell pigs (our T7 dumbfire pet) dead or undead? F**K NO!-These should be Defiler or Fury pets, not necromancer pets...Are gargoyles (our T7 tank pet) dead or undead? F**K NO!-These are animated statues and should be a conjurer pet, not a necromancer pet...I want some of what the designers were smoking, it's obviously some off the hook stuff. Either that, of they are just as dumb as a box of rocks. How can a sane person justify giving "the masters of the undead" access to creatures that are not undead? If I wanted to play a conjurer, then I would have rolled a conjurer.I rolled a necromancer, give me undead pets. What where they thinking, or is the problem that they weren't?

Message Edited by Merciful_Shadow on 03-20-200603:38 PM

Chill dude, lol. As a matter of fact gargoyles are undead, and the T7 mage pet is a spectre if you didn't notice, also out awakened grave is a zombie like always. I agree the flaming pigs are pretty lame, but they are also pretty funny and close enough in my opinion.

If I were you I'd be [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]ing more about the Archlich graphics, not to excited about them.

Actually I read a bit of lore that had gargoyle as the trpped spirits of the dead used by some cults to protect and defend sacred areas.... Which is supposed to be where gargoyles on churches and such originated.Vampires are undead... Specters... also undead...

The Dread isnt really a gargoyle. its more of the fleshgoyle from the Vamp adventure pack.

while techincally a flesh golem, animated flesh is technically undead =p, so its a double loophole.

flaming demon pigs are more of a demonologists feild, or maybe a wow warlock =p

I like to think of the pigs as a representation of one of the 7 deadly sins: gluttony.

itd be great if they gave us skeleton swarm pets, or something like that. we get the zombie one, and we get undead tide, but why not just regular skeletons?

And sadly a gargoyle can be called a golem.

Vampires are a more focused group of necromancers in the EQ world. Dark elves that loved the life tap. They were warped over time due to the constant drawing of life. They use lich much like we do. But to call them undead outright.. that's like saying we're undead. But we're not, we're liches.

First off the flaming pigs are more deamonic and in some cultures are really a hellish creature in a few tribes in africa there the guardians of the under world. Second to be techonal there not pigs. They do no have hooves, and they do not have the round body type of a pig. They are boars with paws(why no hooves i donno). Secondly there on fire(most living things don stay liveing for long when on fire). Secondaly a gargolye depending on where you are from is either a creation of the dead or undead itself. A gargoyle is not made of stone to be honest it just posess the power to turn into stone. But they are living creature not animated creatures. Vampires again depending on the storey. Are techonaly not undead they are living beings, they have not died yet. They however are infected with a disease/virus/mutation of the body that makes it so they do not have a workign circalatory system IE the need to drink blood. cause there body can not create blood. Basicle they represent pure evil in all ways. if humans did in fact represent pure good, but both are still alive.

Also as others have said. the lvl 62 grim terror is a specte and at master 1 has a rather menacing looking scythe, that i think would make Death himself jelious. I like all the new pets even the pigs i think there quite sinister in themselves. In real life a herde of boars on fire bashing there heads against your face isent to funny. I am sick of that same zombie modle, i liked the first caster pets necros got thats a cool zombie modle. I think they need varations i like the fact there turning necro into a more controlers of the under world over just, controlers of undead

But anyways that my 2cp, doubt the originaly posted even cares
