<div>I am not one to complain and i think this is my first post on an SOE forum EVER...but i just bought my necro 52 adept 3 diseased servant and holy hell does this pet suck!!!! I have been named farming lately while I level up my sage skill. So I am taking out the brood mother in EF. Well i am continously failing over and over after having been able to beat it before slightly with my Rotting Thrall that was stuck at level 51 since thats the max level of that pet. So i go ahead and upgrade thinking...man this is gonna be cake! Boy was i wrong...I failed taking it down like 6 times in a row. So i get this bright idea...why not try my old pet again? Well i did and....I utterly destroyed the named. there was simply no comparrison. i am level 53 now and the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] pet was level 51! they are both Adept 3's but the new pet was a supposedly more powerful and also 2 levels higher...i am super perplexed. I like how our class plays at the moment. i even expect it to be nerfed some. Necro's are a group in themselves. But I want this fixed. Its the only thing I care about having fixed. We shouldn't be stuck with a gimped pet. Even in KOS expansion and the level cap raises we might get a new tank pet at level 66 if the 14 level pet stays standard. But thats a long way away. Anyone else feel this pet is trash and needs to be corrected or am i just dreaming?</div>

<div></div>If you are unable to used your Disease servant effectively, you might need to review what type of target your are attacking and what strategy you are using. My Disease servant rocks andI have no problem soloing with it.

<div>i have no problem with it on normal targets...its the big ones where it is weak...i use the exact same strategy with both pets and got dramatically different results with the lower level one repeatedly. Do the pets have resists..i thought they didn't but i might be thinking of another game...that could be the only difference is if the rotting thrall has great heat resist and the diseased servant doesn't. cause the mob I am taking on is big on heat damage. Any suggestions on tactics you use...i mean i think i got my basis convered here. I am sure against regular old opponents even ^^^'s non nameds it does fine. i think I might parse it and see how much damage it takes and what kind. that might help.</div>

<div></div><div>Named mobs are kind of funny when it comes to resists. Lately I have been farming the nameds in Enchanted Lands with my 47 Assassin. His avoidance is so high (almost 63%) that the only thing that usually gives me trouble are the spells, as the melee damage is something I can handle. A good example would be Chomper, who at 37 ^^^ is a full ten levels lower but still green. 4 out of 5 times I can whip him and be at 70% health or better. The other 1 out of 5 times, he lands "swarming pihrana" and "fleshrending teeth" or something such procs on me, and I die. </div><div> </div><div>The Brood Mother is very tough -- she stuns, nukes with extreme fire damage, and has some friends too. It's possible that your Diseased Servent actually tanks much better than the Rottiing Thrall, but doesn't have as good resists. Everything is a tradeoff in this game, it wasn't intended for you to be soloing level 44 ^^^ named Tier 5 mobs with your 54 (or less) necro. If you can do it consistently, you're very skilled or very lucky, likely both.</div><div> </div><div> </div>

There is a major issue when I can't do things with DS that I can do with RT. DS is suspose to be an <strong>upgrade</strong> to RT. That to me means he should be able to do everything RT could do and then a little. However this is <strong>not</strong> the case. I have done just like Hank here, took down a mob with RT and then using the same buffs, tactics and stratagy with DS and have my a** handed to me. There is <strong>no</strong> reason this should ever happen. Different types of pets yes, upgrade to the same line, never. I'd love to see a Dev explain why it is like this.</div>
What tier was the old pet?If you came from an Adept III or Master I pet to an Adept I pet, there-in lies the problem. The Adept I DS is a true progression from the Adept I RT, but if your RT was adept 3 or better it probably still has more HPts than the adept I DS.This makes sence because the level by level progression of your pet increases its HPts in a similar way that leveling increases your own HPs (a little each level). Tier upgrades increase the base HPts by percentages! If you want to see the math let me know.

<div>both pets were of the adept 3 level...i was playing with the app 2 diseased servant for a bit before i got the adept 3 and i wish i had parsed his hp before I upgraded. He would get smacked just like his big brother. There is definitely a distinct dps difference for the app 3 diseased servant. I am quite happy with that. Obviously on a named mob our dps is the thing that shines through and the pets ability to hold aggro is also great. Those aren't the problem. I feel an upgrade of 500 hp heading into what is at this moment "end game" is in appropriate. When I ding 54 I will reparse out the hp difference in 54/53 diseased servant pet. I would assume the hp progression stays standard through till 60. But til then I won't even wanna guess.</div>
<div></div><p>Zald,</p><p>I promise I'm not trying to be an [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] or anything - you know how some things sounds when written rather than spoken.</p><p>I personally would like to see the math. Not because I disbelieve you at all, I just think it would actually be interesting.</p><p> </p><p>Thanks <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<div></div><p>DS is a meat sheild, if you are relying at all on it for DPS, time for a new plan. You need to combo up all your DPS with this pet tanking, and heal it.</p><p>At 60 my adept 3 DS and Master 1 grisly ward this pet has near 9.5k hit points (math done with Staff from LT). But it's mitigation and parry utterly sucks, it takes a lot more damage than you think it would, so it takes a lot of DPS and healing to come out on top when soloing nameds for me a least, and thats just my method, I don't like the root/stun/nuke method.</p>

If I wanted to root and nuke, I would be a wizard.
