Hello all, I am new to the conjuror class and been reading the AA threads but I can't make up my mind. What will help me the most as a 95% soloer, what AA should I get first of all:

1- enhance earth pet at 5 or

2- enhance rock blast to start evocation line to unabate asap

I want my conjuror to be my solo alt for relaxing, harvesting, frequent afk's, killing named for loot. Unless someone is asking for help I really don't plan on grouping, I have all the grouping I like and want with my warden (full healer specc).

I am just level 12 but I want to start on the good path to be a tough soloer, my warden is not very good at soloing for drop/money. So far I like having a pet and nuking hard, fun fun :smileyvery-happy:

And a conjuror nooblet question: where the heck is geotic seal? I see it nowhere in the summoner or conjuror trees.

I'm far from being an expert in conj AAs but I made a conj for similar reasons and took the earth pet first. I'm happy with the decision.

Keeping aggro on pet at the lower levels can be a balancing act. the reduced castimers in the unabate line can be enough to unbalance this and you may find you gank aggro off pet alot easier.

This, on the other hand (the aggro part), is wrong. Unabate is always a good first pick; it not only makes some of our spells usable (calcify, shattered, deluge lines are all horribly slow), but the resist reducers are huge huge huge. I would have loved to have this at level 12-20, and if the only caveat is that I have to watch for over-nuking, then so be it.

However, we really don't disagree here: I can see getting the 5 aa's in e:ep first, as this will help you get unabate quicker. You can have that in a matter of hours, the 21 aa's to unabate will take longer.

I would focus on earth pet and perhaps some of the foundation line abilities. As you get higher in level your pet (getting him adt3 is a good call too) will hold aggro better.......then start looking at lines that will increase your personal dmg output.

If I could do it again, I would have gone e:ep then unabate then everything else (tons of threads here). Unabate is that important.

while unabate is a definate AA for conj....it has drawbacks and these would be much more noticable at lower levels....the drawbacks are increasing your dmg over and above your pets through faster cast times.

My main has been at level cap for a long time but i do have a lvl 48 conj on pvp that i got to go through the lower lvls with again and see how combat was with a lower level conj now.

the first thing i noticed was the balancing act of keeping aggro on pet.....at higher lvls casting both dumbfires at the same time is not a problem, but the hate dump when they die at lower level would lead to stealing aggro off pet.

On my main i have 100AA.....prior to eof I would never steal aggro off my pet....with the introduction of EoF AAs (specifically the cast timer reductions) I can and do steal off pet......not a big issue for me at 70....I have plenty of tools to get it back on pet.....plus my mit is pretty high ungrouped for a conj 1687 and i can take a reasonable beating from a group of solo mobs....plenty of gear that procs heals and dmg when im getting hit etc

however....If a level 12 conj is out dmging thier pet and ganking aggro simply because they cast too quickly....It leaves them with very little in the way of tools to get it back on pet.....or keep themselves alive while they are getting beat on.

Im not saying dont get unabate....I am saying it shouldnt be your first focus....end of the day if you are ganking aggro alot because you cast too quickly....what are you gonna do?....you're gonna cast slower....or hold back longer b4 you start casting....which kind of defeats the purpose of faster cast times anyway. Unabate's resist reduction is great....but the 20 points to get there could be better spent elsewhere in the lower levels.

edited: to be polite

Message Edited by de lorian on 01-29-2007 02:05 PM
