<DIV> Curious if there is someplace that has a comparison, along with the pros and cons, of conjurer pets. So far (level 2<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I have stuck with my spider because he keeps aggro and stays alive longer.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>   And if one type of pet has a general edge over another, what if the lesser pet is an app 4 and other is am App 1...does that make a big difference?</DIV>

Different situations need different pets. Once i broke 24 I stuck with my adept III golem. Nothing in my mind could be a situation that dicated anything other then him. Heck i have a bunkbed in my game apartment. To give him a place to sleep when he's not fighting. Then i got my leveled up version of my Igneous Apprentice. Conjurer is a great profession for trying different tactics. We are more then "Wait for timer" button smasher. My Golem (tellurian soldier adept III) is named Bubba. Best guess is he's at 2500-3000 hitpoints. Since my healing him for 190 is just a small part of his health. He taunts and defends well. He's all melee but he will just stand there and take a beating. But remember the spider/golem is a wall. You are the damage dealer. Watch your power. Stopped by Time will take all of it. I've now been in giant killing parties with no fighter tank at all. My Golem was able to hold up to a 27 triple up by himself.Lately i've been using my fire pet more and more. He only has 400-500hp. But he does a ton of damage. One of the people on these forums made a suggestion that I now follow. Which is simply you launch the begnning of your first nuke and then tell it to attack. Its opening attack is always a big AOE. It takes time to charge. Remember with so few hitpoints it can't melee. If your grouped with a Shaman/Mystic/Defiler. You can have it warded which makes it a most interesting group pet.<div></div>

<DIV>Well, you might be able to find what your looking for digging through this forum a bit, but I don't recall seeing a nice, succinct comparison either.  Here's my 2cp on the subject, and I'm sure others will chime in as well:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1.  Fire Pet (Sparky)- casts fire-based nukes on single target and encounter.  Pros - Highest DPS on multiple-mob encounters.  Cons:  Lowest Hp, does approach mobs between casts so it can be subject to AE damage, not good to use with proc-type buffs.  Sounds like a lot of cons, but it does make up for most of it in pure DPS.  It's a good pet, great for groups with a good tank fighting multiple mob encounters.  This pet requires careful attention if used soloing, and most would say don't bother soloing with it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2.  Air Pet (Cuisinart)- Whirling blender of doom; our "scout" pet.  more Hp than fire, much less than earth.  Pros - Does great DPS on single targets, fast attack speed makes it a great target for proc-buffs (fire seed, etc).  Cons - mediocre health pool, and sometimes it's hard to get damage in before he kills a mob (particularly 50+ with Blazing Presence).  This pet is a good choice for solo vs. blues and greens, ^-cons and lower, or in groups fighting single-target encounters or when you may need to be able to pull aggro off a healer or distract an add.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3.  Earth Pet (George)- Meatshield.  Pros - Highest Hp, single and AE taunt.  In Defensive stance, you'd be hard pressed to ever take aggro from this guy.  Great off-tank, can peel aggro from almost anything, even your tank.  Arguably the best choice for solo, especially when taking on difficult mobs or higher-level group encounters.  Takes aggro back well also, i.e. when going through multiple pets in a long fight.  Cons - Lowest damage, not a good choice for groups unless you're assigned to tanking or off-tanking.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Even with varying levels of upgrade (app1 vs Adept 1), you would still probably be better off following the the scheme described above with choice of pet.  Currently (and we hope this will be getting fixed soon), upgrading pets is bugged with respect to Hp, and possibly other factors as well.</DIV>

The Aqueous pets do crushing damage.Roaring Flames/Pyrotechnic does Heat (spells) and crushing (melee).Tellurian pets do crushing damage (specials MAY use Magic damage, but I think this was changed).Aery pets do Piercing/Slashing (dependant on weapons it has when summoned apparently) and specials are based on Cold.Igneous pets do Heat damage. (suppose it does Crushing for melee, but it only ever melees when it is stifled or out of power).
