<DIV>Tonight was just miserable for me.  I died so often I lost count.  I went into one group fight with my fire pet (level 41).  I wasn't tanking.  Pet was killed in two seconds flat.  Tellurian Rumbler isn't any better.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The buffs we have are just plain stupid.  We need to renew them every 30 seconds and have to wait for timer.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Repair servent isn't worth the effort.  If my pet starts to go down it is better now to sacrifice him for some healing and power and cast a new one.  There is no way to heal a pet that is taking damage fast enough to accomplish anything.  LOL.  When I can finally cast repair on my beet red pet who is oozing his last ounce of blood I am likely to fizzle, and this with my casting skills maxed.   Then I try to cast one of those buff spells that last 30 stinking seconds on him and I have to wait!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I could use some strategy tips.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think if I have tank pet, rumbler, up I should use Volatile Refuge.  Of course I can only use tank on single green mobs or make sure someone else in group has the agro and can keep it. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If I have fire pet, igneous adept, I should use vexation.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Do I stand a chance in hades of becoming anything more than a burdon to my group?  Why would anyone want a conjuror when you can get a paying member? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have been using that flame pet and the aqueous hunters.  It's nice that I can cast them simultaneously, but the wait time to recast is impossible.  In addition, I didn't know they would be so important.  I think I missed the chance to make one of these spells a master one.  Of course, I can't respec, can I?  I've already done it once since the degrade. </DIV>

<DIV>I dont know what lvl you are but being at 50 this is what I have been doing to kill 52^. using my tank pet I send him in, with a offensive buff on and quikly use blazing presence (like a pet on steriods) then I use a stun/harden or ae to interupt mob, giving me time to use heal. then add aquas hunter & any other dot available, another heal and then start nuking away. near the end I do gain agro, so another quake to interupt and hit stoneskin if needed,i then take a pounding letting the mob die before i hit orange. rinse and repeat. Havent died yet <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.</DIV>

Also remember to use your roots, at lvl49 I can keep multiple mobs rooted with Quagmire for 50 secs while the pet tanks one at a time if it needs to (just use the root equivalent for your level). I tried Harclaves last night fearing the worst but I was pleasantly surprised how well I did, with my Adept3 Avenger and Adept1 Volatile Refuge he was able to tank solo mobs two levels higher and maintain aggro (pre-superman buff) even though I literally cast every spell I had including Gnoll Mastery that was hitting for 1200. My pet still had 85% health as it only took about 8 seconds to burn them down. Regarding Harclaves though, the pet still doesn't get the buff so if he gets aggro then he dies very quickly (if you use the Tank pet he will group taunt the whole mob off you in seconds no matter how much damage you do). I had success with Aery Stalker (Adept3) as long as I maintained aggro which with the new Quake AOE and Shattered Earth line I was able to do easily, ripped through the group mobs fairly quickly. <div></div>

<div></div>The way I read the OP is that he is level 41 (stated was using a 41 pet I think). It seems that conjurors in the early 40's are having a tough time since they don't yet have their Master 2 Volatile Haven as part of the Specialized Training.  Apparently this is becoming an issue. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Mordith on <span class=date_text>09-15-2005</span> <span class=time_text>01:39 PM</span>

yep those buffs last forever, or until ur pet does. but as for tanks being weak, maby just depends how u buff em. me preffebly, I use the defencive spell on him, send the aqua stalkers to holp then send out a couple of dot spells and join the fray with my imbuned wand myself. Thats against a couple of lv 31 orcs, while me and my pets are lv 27. personaly i think im doing alright <div></div>

<DIV>Pull with Shattered earth and wait it's duration out before doing any further damage to the mob.  This will bring it's health down by a big chunk and it can't hit you for 9 seconds provided you use no other damaging spells, autoattack or pet yet.  After this you have a choice. Root the mob and back up to allow your shattered earths timer to come back up, or Send in pet, use stun (frozen by time) and nuke with an HO. If you send pet in and nuke with an HO, you can then root the mob and call your pet back.  Provided no DoT's or limited pet's are on, the root will hold. By this time your Shattered Earth will be back up and you can repeat the cycle.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Or, you can just fight easier mobs and send your pet in, use all limited pets, flaming agony, and HO nuke it to death.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>BTW, I chose Klicknics Bite as my master 2 for a big damage boost.  I'd rather kill mobs faster when soloing or grouped than to have a better defensive stance that is only useful when soloing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Using this technique I actually recommend the offensive stance for your pet as it won't be taking damage for more than a second at a time anyway.</DIV>
