My guild decided to roll toons on the new RP PvP Server last night. I have been playing a Warlock since day one, with a few other random alts in the 20's - 30'sDecided to make a coercer. What a blast to play. I know I am still on the island and only level 6 but I just really liked the playstyle of the class. I can see lots of group utility for the class. I know they won't be DPS like my warlock but with some good technique I can see it being very powerful. If the abilities don't get resisted too much I can see it being a decent group PvP Class (mez the healer, charm the healer....etc) My warlock absolutely sucks in pvp, spells take too long to cast so I always get interrupted.Just wanted to say sorry it took me so long.Omaplata

Bahahhahaha myahahha.I say 1 month and youll be singing a different song!

Well I went through all the warlock crap of starting off borked, then being too powerful, and then being switched to a pure AOE class with 5 sec cast times. This class takes a lot more thought to play which is intriguing (sp?)We'll see how much I play him since he is on the PvP Server, might delete one of my other alts I don't play and roll one back on LDLOmaplata

Message Edited by dalessit on 02-22-200605:54 AM

Most people just want to dps, if you want a fun class to play you should definately play a utility class. My Illusionist was extremely fun and my Dirge on Nagafen is extremely fun as well (I've played Dirge on a regular server). Coercers on the pvp servers will be huge to group fights with their mes and charm, not to mention stifles/stuns and roots. Good luck with it I hope you continue enjoying it.

I never did answer you Tanatus...

On the last couple of days of beta, we did have a chance to test resists against fabled gear, finally. Resists were higher, yes, but far from unmanageable. I was still landing about 70 percent of my spells, all of which were set at Adept I.

Damage from Tyrannical Mind is awesome at those levels, FYI. It will be a definite M2 choice.

Boo hoo, no one wants us on raids, we have no utitlity, we suck at Dueling, we can't solo, we are not really T1 DPS, etc, etc, etc, I used to say except for rangers everyone was very unhappy with their class, but since the latest patch, now I don't have to use that statement:smileyvery-happy:There is always something that will be a Pain in the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] for each class.Though one reason I went to coercer is, as with warlocks they are a fairly low played class, though I have seen more coercers on PvP newbie island than I think I have seen on LDL in 52 levels....Omaplata

a) I do read warlocks board very often because I have "on ice" lvl 60 warlock and he is on ice for excat reason why every warlock on board complain - mainly because in burst DPS warlocks merely tier 2 and in susteined DPS tier 4-5 class instead of supposed to be tier 1 in ANY form of combat be it burst damage or susteined

b) rinja's been fixed hopefully for good ...

c) summoners are rullers of the realm - conjurers uncontested champions of DPS in burst AND susteined combat - no other class come even close to summoners DPS - they can solo anything that not epic as long as it not cons orange... so they keep mouth shut in fear of nerf bat swing (and rightfully so)

d) brawlers keep thier mouth shut as well since they UNCONTESTED champ of PvP (total immunity to any form of stun, stifl, mez, interupt ... hell you name it) and as it stands now they sitting in Tier 2 DPS instead of 3

e) paladins are far far above tier 5 DPS they suppose to be ... they also keep mouth shut

If that last post is anything to go by, you should have been a necromancer Glad you are enjoying the class though.

My alt Coercer (Mimer) is atm L33 and I have great fun with him. As you can see in my sig I got some experience playing a necromancer but that is very much a totally different class although Coercers can charm temporary pets. Grouping as a Coercer is where you shine the most not solowise IMO.

Wrong guess buddy.... coercers are champs of solo, in groups we most of time necro mimics. We just use different type of pet - instead of assasin pet coercer usually use brigand pet and instead of warlock pet coercer normally using wizard pet. Plus unfortunally coercer in small no-tank group bad mix with doters and melee

Hey tanatus I would have to agree with you I LOVE my coercer aka new main.

I have a 61 monk and I have enjoyed my coercer for the past 50 lvls more then all 61 lvls of my monk. Not only do we have a great solo PvE ability our PvP ability soloed / grped is [Removed for Content] Great!!

Its great to meet another crazy solo pvp coercer, Its not always easy but we can pull off some crazy stunts. Solfire is the name we are on same server look me up some time if you wanna see what two coercers can do in a pvp fight .

Somewhat off topic, but... I dueled a Templar on PVE lastnight who was 3 levels above me. (Temp - lvl59). It was a rather long fight... but after stunning, stifling and interrupting him to death.. followed by chained power drains... all he could so was watch the life get sucked out of him
