<DIV>I would like to hear from some of you High End raid Coercers about what exactly you do during a Named boss mob to achieve your absolute highest DPS.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ideally, I would like a list of what spells you cast and when you cast them. What order do you cast your debuffs, etc. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lets assume that this is a straight melee fight, no AE's or anything else to worry about. The MT is able to hold taunt no matter what happens. Also, lets assume the fight is greater than a few minutes. For example, The Prismatic Captain in Al'Afaz. 550K hit point mob.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It will be interesting to compare to each other in how you go about getting max DPS.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Muzzleflash on <span class=date_text>01-03-2006</span> <span class=time_text>06:51 PM</span>

No tank is able to hold aggro against a Coercer doing "max DPS". No Coercer is able to do max DPS and live. If you want to go all out, and commit suicide, try this... - Ravaged Psyche - Torment - Depression - Tyrannical Mind - Magus - Spell Lash - Psychic Wail You'll tic along happily until the epic does something special. At this point, all your reactives will fire multiple times and you'll die. Rinse, repeat. <div></div>

Lol it's true I'm pretty much a kamikaze bomber on a raid it's quite amusing. I fire away, do 20k damage in 3 seconds and immediately die, rinse, repeat!<div></div>

<DIV>not a coer, but what if your raid had paly MT and you were in his group(for power and such) with his amends on you and your hate gain on him?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>wouldn't that allow the other dps classes to go [Removed for Content] nuts too?</DIV>

I haven't had a problem keeping Destructive Mind up the whole time.</P> <P>I'm guessing here, but there seems to be a special case for aggro. Even if I haven't done anything but debuff the epic, then cast Perplexity, if my reactives go off for 15-25k, I'm doomed. I think there's a check for a high burst of damage which will skyrocket you up the aggro list.</P> <P>But being a Coercer isn't about DPS (insert argument about mage DPS here), it's about strategy. The thing that makes raids interesting for me is the balance - knowing that I could go all out in DPS, but trying not to kill myself and [Removed for Content] off the raid leader.</P> <P>Kamikaze 4 teh win</P>

In fact I often do the first mentioned spells, keeping Magus, Spell Lash and TM stacked. Pally MT ftw. I love it when he says "OK Kitti, drain on you, Go crazy!"</P> <P><3 Pallies!</P></BLOCKQUOTE> <P><BR><BR> </P></BLOCKQUOTE><BR>

<DIV>I'm always in the MT group with a guardian tanking most of the time and with m1 enreging demeanor I can go berserk and not draw aggro. Albeit there's usually a dirge with +hate on him too, and I wait a rational amount of time for him to build up some hate (this is key).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Bearing this in mind typically I start with ravaged psyche, depression, apply reactives, nuke and refresh as needed. On big stuff I'll toss the int hex doll in there as well, and always use devouring thoughts as it's available.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Proboscus,</DIV> <DIV>58 coercer,</DIV> <DIV>Neriak</DIV>

<div>In my raiding I am normally not in the MT group, so I need to watch my agro. It is fun to see Magus and Spell whip to go off all at once, seen about 7k dmg at once like that, and that tends to draw agro, so normally I dont keep both on it. Like Kit said, if you are with someone who can buff you, like a pally, it makes it much more fun and you get to do some good dmg. I have noticed that Ravaged Psyche does tend to draw agro fast if you cast it too soon, so be careful with it!</div>

if your MT knows his job and the MT group is properly set up you wont draw agro (at least if you dont start with spellwhip)ive had spellwhip hits for up to 54k a pop, have that about 2-3 times a raid and youll draw agro nonetheless, but since most fights dont last over a min or two im safe *g*its not exceptional to reach a nice dps, but one of the reasons i choose to be a coercer was i didnt want to be a stupid dps class on raids <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />the moment they fix spellwhip and havent redesigned our class im gonna reroll a trouba.

<div></div>I'm not sure, but I have the impression, that the "big bang" just happens (stacking spell whipe with magus etc.), if a Defiler is in your (raid-) group and doing some debuffing.SInce our defiler is gone, I've no problems stacking my spells even if the epic encounter is using AE/AOE spells and skills. With a defiler in my raid... the big bang happend almost every time the encounter was doing AE style damage.<div></div><p>Message Edited by FininCuthalion on <span class="date_text">01-12-2006</span><span class="time_text">05:10 AM</span></p>

The defiler big bang happens with the Destructive Mind spell line. The bang is also no where as big as it used to be.<div></div>

spellwhip big bang => triggers through aoe of the mobs (every aoe, doesnt even have to do dmg)
