<DIV>Ok, so at level 29 I finally chose which spell I'd take to master 2 for my level 24 reward. I chose Sybillant. At master 2 its 100% chance to proc when the mob successfully lands a melee attack and it procs for i think 225 to 275 damagem EACH TIME.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hands down, no spell in my entire arsenal compares to this. It was already my number 2 soloing tool next to charm and now its even better and a must have imo. It works amazingly with pets although it does give me aggro more often than I like. Keep in mind even with adept 1 of both my new nukes, muddle thinking and mind splice, I don't reach the combined damage of 1 full sybillant even when I use both those nukes in an HO. I realize this is because our nukes are pathetic, but the power of sybillant is amazing compared to all my previous spells.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Most green con mobs can not even live through 1 whole sybillant, which means if I charm a blue con pet, send it into a green, the fight usually ends in under 10 seconds. If charm breaks the creature my pet WAS fighting usually has sybillant on it and this is usually instant death for them because I can hardly dodge so they proc the full sybillant in their next 3 attacks which lets me focus on taking back my pet. I suggest this spell for any level 24 coercer, especially at that level. At 24 this will be even more amazing because at 29 its my BEST damage spell. Without it I literally triple to nearly quadruple in how long it takes me to kill mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But, on the other hand it is a reactive spell thats based on the enemy striking successfully and otherwise it does nothing. Grouped last night even with a bruiser it usually procced all 3 times and sometimes an entire next round for 6 procs but this usually gave aggro to me if I didnt want for atleast the first bubble to drop before casting. The best part for groups is that it will proc faster as you fight stronger mobs. The worst part is that u can't use any stuns in accordance with it or any silences with our spell equivelant that does damage whenever the mob uses power.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sadly, the whole "mob must strike to proc" thing absolutely kills our questing abilities. At level 30 I can tank a level 15 mob all day and almost never get hit. This makes my BEST damage spell useless. Granted I could charm a pet thats 13 then go fight level 14 mobs and it will proc ok for now, but at 60 my agilitgy buff will give my low level pet an incredible dodgeing edge and there is now way that soloing old quests should mean removing a buff. Not to mention the fact that soloing old quests also means that our single best solo spell, CHARM is completely useless. Right now a group of level 15 mobs might take me...oh...a minute to kill with the refresh times on my DD's if I was using a pet anywhere near my level it would take a slightly shorter time, but where would I get a 30 pet in a zone with level 15 mobs anyway? Even with a pet on my level I'd still barely pull this off in much under a minute if it was a group of 5 gray level 15 mobs. A warlock? 1 spell. They all die. An SK? Easily under 30 seconds, maybe less. Infact, come to think of it I am having trouble thinking of a class that would solo SLOWER than a Coercer...and healers are supposed to...but I doubt they would because they could use their melee AND their DD spells....since half our spells are taken up but indirect damage and effects such as stuns, silences, and reactives it still leaves us atleast back with the priest classes in soloing old quest content, which is a big part of the game at 60 for most, and 30 for me because I am a questaholic....I think I have about 230 quests done right now. maybe a little less/more but around there.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I should also point out that once again, after about 8+ hours of playing today I used my DOTs.....twice.....both as experiments....they were pathetic.....they take too much power, they damage far too slowly, they pull too much aggro and in group situations your better off just watching to make sure u keep sybillant on the mob at all times as it can quite literally put out more damage than both my DOT's in the same amount of time, sometimes less.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lets compare. Sybillant ap1 112 to like 125 (foggy memeory)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>my 2 DOT's ap 1 like 22-30 ever 6 secs and like 28-33 every 6 over like 24 seconds. Adds up about even right?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Wrong. For one, the Sybillant is 3 attacks. Thats all. The DOT's still give twice as many chances for the mob to break root. Given their more dangerous one would think they do more damage. 28x4 and 22x4, not bad right?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Wrong again, Sybillants 3 hits can all prob in about 6 seconds if your fighting anything better than green^ whcih most of the time we are or atleast should be.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Finally you would think, well what if you had all other spells waiting to filter thru to recast again, sybillant, damaged psyche, every other spell u have is already casted....use the DOT's now? No...waist of power in a fight where you would throw everything you have at a mob. Their damage is incredibly insigniificant over long fights compared to Sybillant or my DD's. I can do more damage than both of them by just reusing muddled thinking over and over because of its short cast time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Really, DOT's are not something everyone MUST have and I don't understand why we have them. They should be left for the wizards/warlocks and maybe conjureres/necros but for us a spell the repeatedly breaks our CC and repeatedly causes checks to break our roots....these abilities that are counter-productive just get dropped from the hotbars.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A comparison? My windows XP alerts me when I have unused desktop icons and asks if I would like them removed. A similiar program in game would alert me that I habe unused spells on my hotbar and ask if I want them removed....to the recycle bin....then the bin emptied....the just incase format the harddrive, reinstall, buy 5000 dollars of PC security programs, then scrap that PC alltogether lol.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Really, sorry for the sarcasm but I just GOTTA get this point accrossed to the devs, the DOT's are completely USELESS to us now. They are literally COUNTER PRODUCTIVE. Sybillant alone gives me too much aggro when solo'ing with even a powerful white con pet. Even green con mobs who I don't attack with Syb until their 1 bubble down turn on me after only 1 pop of its proc. The DOT's are not only counter productive now as they will break the root and let the mob reach me, but they are useless as they destroy whatever chance my pet might have of actually holding onto the aggro. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In groups, once again I can not stress enuff that casting <FONT color=#ff0000>1. sybillant</FONT>, <FONT color=#6666ff>2. despotic mind</FONT>, <FONT color=#66ff99>3. muddled thinking</FONT> then <FONT color=#ccff66>4. mind splice</FONT> in that order, then repeating steps <FONT color=#ff0033>1</FONT>, <FONT color=#6666ff>3</FONT>, and <FONT color=#ffffff>4 is the best combination for the highest DPS that I could see myself. Not to mention that by the second sybillant the mob should be to about half HP or less if your entire first sybillant went off without the mob missing...in which case u better blink cause u've just gotten aggro. If the first syb goes normally, the second is no problem...unless it pops all in a row as well...then u can still sometimes pull aggro if the tanks taunts are ap1.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In closing I'd say a summary of everything I've written here is pretty much this.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. Take Sybillant master 2 at 24. If you 24+ but not more than 36 go ahead and buy adept 1 of it. U won't regret it.</DIV> <DIV>2. Don't waste a single copper piece upgrading your DOT's. I use Forced Mirth more often lol.</DIV> <DIV>3. Solo strategy. VS melee blue and under Sybillant, Mind Splice, Root if if Splice breaks and repeat.</DIV> <DIV>4 Solo Strategy  VS mage same but between Sybillant and splice toss in a Despotic Mind. If u can't get outta its spell range, dont even bother rooting cause you WILL get aggro, but the mob will die fast to compensate for that especially if syb and despotic are both adept or better.</DIV> <DIV>5. Never use your DOT's trust me, there is always a better spell ready to cast. I've very rarely been able to cast Syb, the despotic mind, then muddle thinking, then mind splice before the orignal Syb was fully procd and the mob was dead or ready for another Syb, by which time the DOT's are pointless because the mob is either half dead or its a mob thats too difficult and is going to kill you lol.</DIV> <DIV>6. Try to keep Syb on the mob at all times even if only 1 bub of health is left and your at full health with freshly charmed pet at full health. Always plan ur fights as if Charm will break in the middle of the fight at the worst time. If syb is on the enemy when charm breaks the mob attacks you and hopefully kills itself by procing syb so rapidly on ur frail body letting you focus on your pet.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thats my summary but I've still got a couple other tips.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. Search a zone and find the pet you like the best and that works the best. Don't always settle for the mob thats nearby. This works in a clutch but if possible find the best possible mob you can even if you have to run over half the zone for it. Believe me, when soloing green con mobs useing one of them as your pet is pathetic compared to going and getting a blue or white con pet and in the end will save you more time because the kill rate once you do get your pet will be much faster with less downtime. Maybe more recharms but this will still balance out because of the pets increased strength in killing ur enemies.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. I found a small bug where on the first charm my pet gets my buffs as soon as charm takes hold, but when re-charming I had to rebuff each time for any of the group buffs to affect him again. Keep an eye on your pets buffs and using the same window u can watch his coerce timer and cancel your mez/roots more easily after recharming him...because he WILL stay rooted/mezd after the recharm unless u break the spell urself. Also, if your pets coerce timer says 2 minutes and ur not in the middle of a fight, go ahead and target ur pet, select Stay. move as far away as ur mez/ root (whichever u prefer) allows and then break the charm and immediately cast the root/mez then recharm. Don't ever go into a fight with only 2-3 minutes of ur charm left. You might as well cancel the charm before the fight and recharm instead of risking losing a good pet, or worse your shard.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3. If anyone is EVER in your group and lower level than you...make them dance. :smileytongue: then point out that their dancing and when they suspect you, swear on pain of death that it wasnt you at all.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4. When in groups always keep in mind that our Binding Light pacifies and blinds the mob until it takes damage. Sure the root also breaks then too but in a group when your aoe mez and your single target mez are all in wait and 1 add steps in you can root it and effectively do what a mez does...just not as long.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>5. Charm seems to check for break once in the first 20 seconds of the duration and then once in the last minute of the duration lol. Unless urgently needed, try to test your charmed pet out on a weaker mob or 2 just incase its going to be an early break. The majority of my breaks occur in the first minute after charm. If it makes it past the first minute I usually don't see a break unless I break it myself for recharm or if I forget completely and it lasts the full duration.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>6. Don't always assume that going into a fight with a pet is the best solution when soloing. If grinding then yes, but for difficult fights to complete a quest you can sometimes gain an edge over the mobs your about to fight if its a group encounter by charming 1 of them and turning it against the others. Make sure ur ready to tell the pet to attack as soon as charm takes hold so that it can get aggro off of you. You can also use the aoe mez before charm but its short duration can sometimes make this just as risky and multiple mob encounters require more power to finish so using this spell might not be an option every time. Also, if losing the fight with 2 enemies left and your pets nearly dead, instead of saving it, let it die. As soon as the pet dies use your AOE mez and then charm one of the mobs. Now all you have to do is root the 1 last mob and let them fight it out til one dies...whichever dies, kill the other. This can be slow but in dire situations such as rare quest mobs or clearing the way back to your shard without a group, such measures can be nessecary.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Well that concludes my level 30 "check in" probably check back somewhere between now and 35 with another big report like this on my progress and observations about the coercer overall.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There is more but I'm too tired to go on lol.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Until next time fellow Coercers, keep fighting the good fight.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Well, Krelf, you are starting to understand our plight.  we told you that as you leveled up it would only get worse. this is a very good post, i can't imagine the time that you put into it. imagine how frustrated you would be if you had to do this all the way to 60. <div></div>

So cheer up pal, atleast we are not always being pestered with those silly requests from groups and raids and...people. lol</DIV>
