I am going to cancel for 2-3 months starting this thursday. Hopefully I will come back and this game will be finally fixed, fun and playable.

Because of Sony previous ways to fix classes, we only know the word nerf now. If they plan to balance everything, I fear all mages will make 20DPS instead :smileyvery-happy:

Message Edited by yes4me on 03-28-2005 11:38 PM

Fixing Beguile into a more usable form will go a long way towards fixing our situational DPS.

We should hear something on SoE's ideas 2 or 3 days before they go live, anyway. Plenty of time to test...

Very easy to extrapolate....

between test and live 3 week, live 6 goes on test this week so it goes live in the end april, live 7 goes on test in the end of apprile so it will goes live mid of may at best....

Not only are they addressing healing but also damage output for priests.

*giggle*

Poor priests. I do not envy them. They'll probably get better DPS and less healing and more aggro via a level 1 pet that is perpetually summoned for them and always attacks any mob in its exceptionally large (i.e. zone-wide) aggro radius, even through floors or ceilings.

Hmm chanter dps...yay! Of course working on some of our class skills would prolly be more useful. Beguile is ok but soon runs out of use. Perhaps making our spells have a reason to be upgraded would be good Clarity adept3 and Clarity app1 do exactly the same thing at present.

We'll see... personally I'm waiting for lvl 50 (am 42 atm). At that point I'll see what's been done to the class and make a decision then. At the rate I'm leveling I should hit 50 around the time they do LU 7. Dunno what I will do if things aren't working out by then... may switch classes or leave.

While I am looking forward to the DPS upgrade, I would prefer to actually see an increase to the usefulness of our utility actually. I joined this class so that I can play a class that is more than just button mashing (ie: cycling through the same 2-3 nukes every fight). I'd actually prefer for us to gain better debuffs and more useful dots. I'm kinda sorry I missed EQ1, as playing a bard twisting songs sounds like it was a bunch of fun.

I agree completely. Many of the problems with coercers are fundamental problems with the game. Spamming damage is just too effective. With the sole exception of boss mobs who bring a lot of friends, nearly every encounter is better fought by kicking out your enchanter and replacing him with a DPS class. Mezzing a mob with a wizzy around is just a way to shield the mob from taking AE damage.

What I really think they should do is make every mage class able to do some crowd control and then make most serious encounters impossible to defeat without crowd control. You are supposed to need one of every archetype and every archetype should be able to fill the all archetypal roles. Right now we can't do DPS for crap and other mages can't do CC for crap. The way encounters are set up, DPS works and CC isn't necessary. So, it sucks to be us.

>What I really think they should do is make every mage class able to do some crowd control

They have, later on sorcerers gets unbreakable area roots, and they have alot of stuns/roots/stifles at all levels.

Summoners can use their pet as an off-tank too..

>Right now we can't do DPS for crap and other mages can't do CC for crap.

Trust me on this, you'r playing with the wrong sorcerers if they cant CC for crap. If they would focus on CC as much as an enchanter does and if they would cast their utility spells more than their big nukes then they could do pretty fine CC in most situations. But most time its more effective to just burn the mobs down fast and the sporadic situations where this strategy doesnt work out they usually forget that they would have other spells in their book as well and not only nukes.

Give an enchanter the possibilities of a sorcerer minus the big DD and i am sure he would do an amazing job in CC just as he is doing with his enchanter spells.
