I let you fill whatever that is missing. Right now I don't feel great about playing EQ2, and I am going to take very soon a 2-3 months break. Hopefully Sony will put their act together and make this game good and entertaining like when we were in the island.

Message Edited by yes4me on 03-31-2005 02:10 PM

Message Edited by yes4me on 03-31-2005 02:14 PM

lol "Orki who Posts"Unveil is truly annoying. Why do we need to get ultravision at the same time? Everytime I cast it, people cancel it almost right away.Muddled thinking is right now my new favorite spell. It works wonderfull in group. You don't get too much aggro, don't use too much power, does good damage so far.
Message Edited by yes4me on 03-25-2005 03:16 PM

I don't understand this. Now this is from memory so it may be wrong, but Recklessness was 30% increase to attack speed at adept1. After reaching 34 last night I got Bravado which at app1 was 31% increase to attack speed and 32% after scribing the adept.

Do other classes have spells that scale like this? I honestly never noticed on the Templar I played, barring the heals of course. Are other classes in the same boat spellwise, or is it just Coercers?

My best guess is that tthe recklessness spell improve over time, but updating it to adept 1 doesn't seem to improve a lot.

Maybe a dumb question here but why does essence fluctuation use power while our first enchanter spell doesn't?
Let's look at the numbers:

You cast Essence Fluctuation. Result:
health: -65.5
power: -48+34.5 = -13.5

3 seconds later
health: -65.5-52 = -117.5
power: -13.5+29 = 15.5

6 seconds later
health: -117.5-52 = -169.5
power: 15.5+29 = 44.5

9 seconds later
health: -169.5-52 = -221.5
power: 44.5+29 = 73.5

End of spell

If my calculations are not incorrect, you could end up casting 2 muddled thinking after 9 seconds for roughtly 200 points of damage. Is that really worth it?

Message Edited by yes4me on 03-28-2005 03:45 AM

In regards to recklessness. It's often said to be insignificant, but i have wondered how much damage it accounts during an entire encounter. I appreciate orki trying to calcutate it, but i am questioning that calculation...i'm not saying i'm right, but this is how i figure. Say 20% of encounters are from attacks affected by recklessness (low estimate), a 25% increase would be around 5% of the total encounter, not .4%. For a Mob with 4000 hp, for example that would be 200 dmg. i'm not saying it is or isnt worth it, just would like to know exactly. I expect i'm probably wrong, anyways, and expect someone to point that out. lol

It's the upgrade from app1 to adept 1 that does roughly 40 damage if the mob has 10.000 hp.

Rechlessness in itself does some 300-500ish in that battle.

Note, that while number can probably be as high as 500, if you have a good wizard or warlock, you will be looking at the 300ish, and if you have both, it's in the 150-200 dam area, since their damage output is simply amazing currently.

While theese numbers might seem pitifully low to everyone else, for an enchanter, that's actually quite good damage.

Message Edited by Orki who Posts on 03-29-2005 09:36 AM

OMG... Unnerving Stare adept 1 looks worthless.

In the best case after 10 seconds, you decrease the power of target by 14+10*3=44 points at the cost of 110?

I hope my next spell is worth something...

thanks orki,

i appreciate that 300-500 dmg is in fact significant to us coercers and therefore is worthwhile to have on. Especially since can be done before battle, during downtime, with no drawback that i can think of.

Small it is, but i do believe most non-coercers (and many coercers ) neglect how our little damages add up.....Debuffing magic mitigation, power drains, stuns, mezzes, among other "small" enhancements do add up. It is just difficult for a casual observer to see as they are subtle. I try to be content that the group i'm in is successful, whether my contributions are noticed or not.

Unnerving Stare is actually not bad. I used it only to stunt enemy.

Despotic mind looks very good to update.

Muddled Thinking: 2.33 points of damage/power
Despotic mind: 4 points of damage/power

BTW... I think it is stupid that we have so many restrictions on so many spells. Why does Despotic mind not work on level lower than 20? Are these monsters r3tarded?

Message Edited by yes4me on 03-29-2005 04:04 PM

Added Signet of Insign. The improvement doesn't impress me much and they usually sell that spell for 5 golds on my server.
Good luck guys. I am now off for 1-3 months until I am done with some personal stuffs and when coercer spells have finally improved.

/cancel account.
