<DIV>Ok, please help!! I am lvl 28 and have always hated to solo cause of how sloooowwwww it is. Im 20% from ding and I figured I could solo that last 20%. I tried Green ^^ Skells in TS and go my A S S handed to me big time. So I figured something simpler. So I go to EL and decide to do Turtles and Beetles which are Yellow - Orange. I am barely able to do these, but can manage. Low and behold I get 1/10 xp per kill !! [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]? Thats 200 kills for 20%. This cant be right. When I duo I get 2 - 4% per difficult ^^ wich is good. I agree that when yoru solo you should get less, but 1/10% for something which almost kills you? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have adept 3 everything. When I solo this is what I do.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>DD</DIV> <DIV>Freeze</DIV> <DIV>Binding</DIV> <DIV>(If it sticks, if not I run or Im dead)</DIV> <DIV>Suffocating Cloud</DIV> <DIV>Curse of Darkness</DIV> <DIV>Freezing Whorl</DIV> <DIV>Binding</DIV> <DIV>DD</DIV> <DIV>SB</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ok so I ask you power gamers who can solo please educate me.</DIV>

<P>Start from frozen manacle, let block decay completely - hit target with freezing wirl and incenerate (mainly for debuff purpose) - HO with DD-SB (Freeze/HPB)- hit target with putrid cloud if root been broken - frozen manacle again - retreat - risen and repeat...</P> <P>So to speak tactic is root - and circle HOs till root brakes - then hit target with fast casting - long recast stun (freeze) then long cast longer duration stun - then reroot and again start circling HOs</P> <P>If you melee combat unavoidable - make sure you keep mob debuffed melee wise - tongue twist you friend (stifle) and so is insenerate (-str - agi debuff)</P>

<P>as the previous poster mentioned, I always root first then debuff/DoT then nuke, if the root breaks then I stun/root and repeat the process.</P> <P>I don't understand why people start out with their nukes. It draws the creature to you right away and the chances of you being interrupted while trying to stun/root it are far greater. Plus, this way you should only have to use your stun spell once per turtle in EL, instead of twice the way you're doing it. Waiting for that Freeze/Flashfreeze spell to regen while being interrupted on your root is a horrible feeling.</P> <P> </P>

<P>Thanks, Im pretty good on the turtles / beetles, can manage. I think the main point is that a lot of non mage types can solo green ^^ for 2 - 3 % xp per kill, this does not seem doable in our class.</P> <P> </P> <P>Second is it normal that a orange only gives 1/10 xp or am I just having bad luck?</P>

<DIV>^^ greens don't give close to 2% exp anymore. I used to get about 1.2-1.7% from em in my mid/late teens. Now that I'm 35, I'm lucky to get around 0.5% per ^^ green heroic kill while solo. That's with Vitality, of course. Halve that if I don't. Just saying this so ya know it doesn't stay such a huge percentage of your level higher up.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Since I been 30, I often find the white-low orange mobs to be similar and even better exp per hour when I solo, as opposed to doing green group mobs. The Solo's are little more dangerous cause they can hit me, but take little less power and time usually. EL is wonderful place.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Don't sweat trouble on green ^^ too much, least not from an exp gaining perspective. Plenty of solo mobs now that drop lots of cash loot, and even some fairly good upgrades.</DIV>

Wait til you get to lvl 35 mobs and freeze/tongue twist dont work anymore.... /cry. At level 32 I do this... BSS Flashfreeze Root Noxious Bolt (usually gets em dead) Suffocating breath (or whatever that poison DD is) or wait for BSS If you have BSS and adept 1 or greater NB, solo mobs should pretty much die after 2-3 hits. I don't find it worth the time and inferred cost of solo'ing heroic mobs anymore...I can kill 10 solo mobs in the time it would take me to "attempt!!!" to solo a ++...then againI can't wait til I get paralyzing fear (which now seems like it will change) <div></div>

Strange you're only getting 1/10th of a percent at your level. I'm getting around .4% for the same mobs at level 31. Maybe you have no vitality or something? I've been soloing in EL since I was 26th level and that was before the mega dammage patch. I do things somewhat different than the others though. Dark distortion (BSS now) Root (run backwards to get some distance) Steal breath (can add FW if you like) Ice spike or suffocating breath (noxious bolt now) Dark distortion (BSS now) If the root breaks i use one of the stun spells and then re apply root. I use the root second as if you start a good distance away you can cast root before they hit you. This way you get to hit them for a large chunk of dammage without the chance of breaking your own root. Most importantly if things look like they're going wrong i break the encounter and run. Pretty much the only time i ever get killed is when i'm in a group. Whilst soloing you shouldn't get killed. If you have all adept 3's you're both very rich in game and should have absolutly no problems soloing once you get the hang of it. <div></div>

There's green^^ and there's green^^ mobs. I noticed this with my Paladin, despite the skeletons where green the 20^^ were no problem, but the 21^^ kicked my butt. While now, it's good to solo ^^'s if you know which to pull, you don't have to try this with a mage. AFAIK, mage classes are not meant to solo, or this is seriously bugged. - A grey^^ centaur or skeleton in Thundering Steppes can still kick your butt - You cannot solo a pair of single arrow mobs. I can solo orange mobs (haven't tried red non-arrow) but if they have arrows I can't do it. I pulled with a nuke, coz it has a MUCH further pull then Frozen Manacles, and the damage it has done in the meantime is also beneficial. - BSS - Frozen Manacles - Steal Breath + Incinerate - BSS or HO - stun & re-root - Steal Breath - finish of with stun I also noticed that once a mob has broken my first root, my next root doesn't hold really, unless he's really low on health.... <div></div>

<P>Folks let me explain something ...</P> <P>There are 4 type green ++ mob. Warrior type (that is your primary target - an example - footsoldiers in TS), Scout type (that's your death sentence upon melee impact), Mage type (as long as you higher lvl then mob and you have good resistance for your lvl they are cake) and Priest type of mob (could take a while to kill but no danger)</P> <P>Then ever you do with scout type mob - its imperitive to survive first special (crushing blow, barrage and what not) - so root, stifle then do what ever you feel need to be done. If root brake - dont stun - cast stifle nuke first then stun.</P> <P>To elaborate more on that - take cracklings in Nek and compare em with kodiakls .. and guess what? crackings will give you run for your money and poor fur bags will drops like a flys (you can even melee em for a fun). What the difference? - well mobs specials.</P> <P>At lvl 26 I still solo greens ++ but only warrior type and animals, I wont touch with 10feet pole scout type greens ++</P>
