hi, i am going to start a wiz or conji on the german pvp server soon. Could you please tell me wich class you would play and why? I dont care about DPS discussions, i just want to know what class is more fun to play.I ll ask this question on Conjurers board too.thanks in advance <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

Have a lvl 20 conjurer and hes fun as hell<img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Just two box a wiz and a conj<img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div><div> </div><div> </div>
<div></div><div></div>After playing two wizards but only to the 30s on a pvp server (i rerolled to qeynos since there were so many freeportians) Id say conjurer. A wizard in eq2 completely lives and dies by his root spell. Unfortunately root in this game is absolute crap and you are lucky if it doesnt break on the first spell. Actually I should say you are lucky if you can cast a root spell. The only time I get a root spell off is when im jumping someone. The majority of the time its some type of scout jumping you. You will be lucky to get off any spells. I find the best tactic is to stifle them right away and then try to root. Stunning takes to long to cast. Pretty much you gotta hope you can stifle them before they stun you, root you, or stifle you. If you manage to get that off you can probably root them and maybe win. But the majority of the scouts that jump you are higher level (pvping in areas far below their level at 35 its pretty regular for me to fight 40-43s) so they will resist a good 50% of your spells.Oh and dont get me started on spell resistances. First spell damage is completely nerfed in pvp. I mean REALLY nerfed. Then take the fact that everyone with a brain stacks the crap out of their fire resistance because they learned that if they dont Ball of Fire can actually hurt them once you hit 24. and amazingly you have a master2 spell that is something like 750-1050 at my level doing about... 300-400 damage. Its a beat down. The best way to fight this is drop an adept3 on your debuff spell. It will make a HUGE difference. Gotta keep your ball of fire, your pbae fire spell, your lightning bolt, your ice rain and your debuff Adept3'd at all time if you want to stand a chance imo.Wizard is a tough path to travel but it can be fun at the same time too. When you go unnoticed in a battle you can completely turn the tide of it. Our AE ice rain spell completely shuts down druid regens. Also keeping many people alive is really hard for healers in pvp so in group pvp your ae's are invaluable. Finally we got some wicked burst damage. There have been fights where my nukes have completely dominated their healer or other casters. You can unload enough damage very quickly that a healer might get one spell off. But if you nuke, nuke, stun, nuke stifle nuke they are goiing to have a hard time living.Id personally go with a conjurer if I could do it all over. I didnt have a ton of knowledge of eq2 and I still dont. As a veteran pvp'er in many games I steered clear of the pet caster because generally they dont have the tools required to keep people off them readily at hand. Due to not always having the pet out they need, not having escape abilities outside their pets etc. I played a warlock in wow decked out in gear from bwl with all kinds of toys but my pet hardly mattered and I didnt want to get into that again. Pets will fall behind, I wouldnt always have one out due to travel, and they were easily killed. Well in eq2 they did something completely different with pets and they are AMAZINGTaunting tank pet.. wow this just completely kicked [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]. You know how above I spoke of rarely being able to fight back vs scouts? (Scouts are a huge majority on pvp servers for obvious reasons) Well having a pet that taunts forces them to attack your pet for a bit. This means that when you get jumped your pet nails that taunt right away as a conjurer and instead of their opening attack chain going right into you leaving you standing there thumb in bum about half of it ends up on the pet. This gives you a huge advantage. I dont know the rest of what conjurers do but their pets really help them mop up compared to sorcerers. Heck if you have a scout pet out especially a real nice one even if they are beating on you that pet is beating on them doing VERY nice damage. Oh and vs casters... swarm pets are just insane. They can completely shut down casting ability and do nasty damage. Also I BELIEVE they are purely melee damage so you dont have to worry about the fire resist problem. Combo that with having an invis that works on their pet and you got a pet that saves your [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] and the ability to throw some very nice damage out there. Nuke-wise maybe not as good as a wizard but your survivability as a conjurer is significantly higher then a sorcerer. I dont know how many times Ive had a spell queue'up and had to cancel it mid cast because the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] pet taunted me and I switched over to it instead of the caster.Ugh ok.. blocks of text and rambling thought. My apologies but I hope ive helped. This is just me analyzing things as a level 35 wizard who is pretty new to eq2. I also played a wizard to 30 as a freeport and a 40 swashbuckler on a pve server. Am I a font of knowledge who knows everything about the game? Negative! These are just all based on my personal experience. Enjoy!Edit: Now I realize your original question was which is more fun. Well let me tell you nothing is less fun then getting stomped into the ground without fighting back <img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div><p>Message Edited by Tinen on <span class="date_text">04-09-2006</span><span class="time_text">09:34 AM</span></p>
