it's also a true AE and the spell [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]ing owns.  it makes up for surging tempest sucking so much [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot].

Why does surging tempest suck so much? If I read it right it should average about 2800-3k of dmg in about the same time it takes to cast an Ice Comet and refresh it.Sounds like a great openening nuke. Low aggro since it's DoT.

<P>Surging tempest = great on raids.</P> <P>Can stick it on the main mob, and knock it down every 10 seconds with low aggro and decent damage when the spell finishes. It's just not that helpful for exp groups since everything dies so fast anyway, but throwing it on an add or another mob in the same encounter works as well.</P>

So a 48sec duration DoT only does half of its damage. Also, a stun is only good when we can cast it right away when we need it, not a stun that happens every 10sec. This spell is also bugged. It's 10sec a tick but has 48sec duration. While it continues to drain mana, we just waste the 8sec for nothing.<BR> <DIV>I suggest making it 8sec a tick. It'll increase its damage by 25% and will also fix the durtaion bug.</DIV>

Almost all the spells you probaly see are the reciepe books.  Only alchemist, sages and jewelers can use those.They look like a scroll.  I have yet to see an actual adpet for the ancient spells.

<div></div>Has anyone else noticed that these are dropping as Adept 1 from mobs now?  I looted a Numbing Cold Adept 1 from yard trash in The Hidden Cache this weekend, kinda pisses me off that I had already spent a vanadium on the Adept 3. <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  Stats were pretty close to the Adept 3, except the slow was like 90%.
