I am level 47 and in full fulginate armor. So far it's been fine and I didn't see a lot of need for ebon. Leveling fairly quickly and I expect to hit T6 levels over the next week or so. I hear bad things about T6 common armor and I wonder how I should view the next armor set. As a casual player I haven't really invested in raid quality gear and the only raids I expect to participate in are the ones in HQ's. With the new expansion comming I know I won't be stuck in the 50's forever so I don't need to treat my next suit of armor like it is my final set. What would be acceptable/ideal for casual solo and group play in the 50's? Should I camp for rubicite? Buy Ebon now and stick with it through the 50's? Buy the cheap T6 common stuff? I've never had more than 1 plat to my name at a time so I can't see how I would by cobalt unless I commit a week or two to harvesting it. Mine is a small family guild and I am the highest level character so I won't get a lot of help.

If you mine an hour a day, you will probably get enough for a suit, or at least chest/legs/weapons in a week

I am currently a 56 armorer. In my levels of 40-50 of mining T5 zones, I NEVER received an ebon cluster. All the clusters that I ever received apart from broker or being supplied them by customers were from named drops. In my first two weeks of DOF, I had mined about 3 or 4 cobalt. All the cobalt pieces available for me to make for myself up to advanced armorer volume 54 have come from my own mining in DoF.That says something about the rarity of ebon. The legendary crafted bp's give a 5% heal proc. It helps when it goes off. The legs give a 5% heat DS but can be a pain when trying to run away with multiple mobs procing the legs, or shield if you have imbued if that even goes off on your back.Institute a savings program like I do. I put all my copper and silver into the bank and I don't touch it unless I really need to.I have been fortunate in my sales and loot (2p for a 47 ench root / stifle master, 1p for guard master, 65g for paladin master, etc).I have about 5p on my person currenlty and over 7p in the bank.I am currently level 54 adventurer as well.

![]() When DoF first went live with the CU, I was also in mostly fulginate armor. Bottom line, the content in most of the DoF zones simply cut through that armor like butter. I agree with the 1st reply advising you to mine cobalt. Your AC will go up tremendously and there will be a very notable difference in how well you withstand the rigors of combat. It really doesn't take that long to mine much. Just don't get frustrated. While you're doing it, hit other nodes as well. If you get a rare off one of the other ones, you have something you can bargain with to possibly trade for a cobalt or get a nice discount on (depending on the rare). ~Sir Hawke Holyblayde, Paragon of Truth |

When you get to DoF, do the dock quest. This will net you some decent armor (and you don't have to pay for it). They are solo quests and can be done without much of a problem. During these quests, mine every ore node you see. Chances are you'll get a few cobalt clusters. If you MT in groups, then you want as much mitigation as you can get. Taking the time to mine the cobalt is your best bet.... Slows down your leveling and lets your other guildies catch up in level... And it will be a great investment, as it will last you quite a while.

![]() At lvl 47 skip ebon. As above poster said do the dockside quests. Some of them have you go into croc caves and you can mine for cobalt in there. Also along the highway orc wall west from the docks. IN PoF there is a nice goblin area north of the camp where the aggro is messed up. You can practically walk over goblins without getting aggro. There are two instances you will want to run. Scornfeather Roost at lower 50 levels and Poets Palace in higher levels. Both drop masters and nice fabled armor drops. They are 1 group instances.

By the dockside quests do you mean the bettle herding stuff? That gives out desert chitten armor that might be 5% better than what I am wearing now. Not sure that is going to make much difference. Is there a particular NPC giving out these quests? For cobalt armor, how many cobalt clusters do I need for a piece of armor? Do I need to harvest any other rare materials to give the armorer?

![]() Usually you just give the armoror a cobalt and some cash (whatever they charge). You'll need: -cobalt and lambent extract (made by alchemists with a Lambent harvest and maybe 3g or so) for BP -cobalt and lambent extract for legs (if you want the leg proc. Some prefer not to have it) -cobalt for shoulders -cobalt for forearms -cobalt for gloves -cobalt for feet -cobalt for helm ~Sir Hawke Holyblayde, Paragon of Truth |
