so with the upcoming expansion, do you think we'll get an upgrade for Amends? SoE alrdy tuned it down a slight bit because of balancing issues...will they still add a new one?

I'd venture to guess the new incoming one is why they reduced its predecessors. Fairly positive it'll be in the expansion.

lvl 49 Amends+14Lvl 63 upgrade (if any)Personally since amends is such a high % I doubt we'll get a worthwhile upgrade as they'll never have it higher than 49% I'd rather see a new line of spells or CA instead of amends after all even if we are lvl 500 amends at its currant % will still be very powerful.Unless they add secondary effect to amends I see this as the route they'll take.

There are a lot of percentage based skills that will need to either have their spell lines end and be replaced by a new set or have secondary effects added and the percentages capped.  Amends is one, and the Primal Agility line for rangers is as well... The master version for rangers already reduces their own hate by 55% if hte game were to follow the progression it has so far, by level 100-130 range rangers would be able to generate negative hate with it =P

Or they just start making mobs so incredibly difficult that these higher %'s are required

Agro generation has very little to do with the difficulty of the mob itself.

That's sort of true.INCREDIBLY difficult mobs would require MUCH more dps. Hence, opening up the envelope a bit more will result in a more succesfull raid/kill/etc...

Yeah, the Amends conundrum is an interesting one. I can very well see it being more or less the same spell with an added effect of some sort, or simply not upgraded at all. It's simply capped by that 50% barrier, and any upgrade we see is going to be slight. I'm much more in favor of introducing a new spell/CA, or... My own, personal fantasy that I use to daydream away the hours at work... Amends on a group basis. Like Sigil in effect, but permanent like Amends is.

There's only so much DPS you can pack in to a 24 person raid before you start losing healing and utility capability. A good raid can already operate at near peak DPS.

You can pack a ton of dps into one raid. If you have two groups of pure dps, you are going to want a troub each in there to reduce the hate. And you want a dirge in the main group. Being an underplayed class, a lot of guilds may have a hard time getting 3 bards in on a raid due to time constraints and what not. So every ability you have to hold hate = more dps = the good. Anything that increases the flexability of your ability to pull off a raid is better for a raid force in the end, and lets you be more adaptable. That being said, you don't want to pull too much away from each class and give it to others to make them un-needed (Poor monks).

Perhaps they might consider starting a new line of Amends. maybe something like a low percentage aggro sucker that is a GROUP buff? I'd love a shot of that. SMILEY
