![]() Hi all, I noticed that after the LU my int had decreased by one point and certain spells where doing less damage. In particular the one I noticed was wicked coil, which had been doing 99 damage for as long as ive had it. It now does 98. I thought that it was probably just an item that had changed, but upon boosting my int by 10+ points, it is still doing less damage than before. I know its nothing major, but I noticed a thread in in-testing feedback that was asking about a similiar int problem. Has there been a change? Anyone else noticed anything? I would be grateful if someone could shed some light on the subject. Thanks in advance. Vermillion. Splitpaw.

They can't just take a point of INT away from you ... it must have been lowered on something else. Gear? Buffs? Race traits? Food/Drink?The spell damage decrease is almost certainly a result of your lower INT.I haven't noticed anything, but I swap gear around so often I wouldn't miss a point.

![]() Yeah I agree with your point and that is what I initially thought aswell. The thing is, after raising my int over where it was before, by 10 points, my spells were still doing less damage. At the minute I have raised my int by a further 22 points and my spells are now doing the same damage as before. Though I would have thought they should be doing more. Im not 100%, but some other people seem to have noticed little things like this. Maybe it has something to do with my leveling and the cap increasing. It just seems a bit off. Thanks for the reply either way. ![]() Vermillion. Splitpaw.

Here's a little bit more:Your spell damage bonus is based off of how far your INT is below the cap, not how high your INT is. So if you are 40 points below the cap and you gain a level without changing any of your gear or spells or whatever, you are now 47 points. You will therefore do less damage with your spells than you did before. It's a peculiar side-effect to the mechanics of ability caps.

![]() Ahh, Im with you now. So as I understand it the cap is lvl x 7 + your racial stat score. So as a Human at lvl 70 the cap would be 510? and currently at 55 im assuming my cap is 405. It makes much more sense now, never knew it worked that way. Thanks for the heads up again. Vermillion. Splitpaw.
