This will sound like a noob question, but I have not been able to find the answer. How much does a buff/ward (like Demonstration of Faith or Toughness, etc.) increase hate/aggro? I know when I play my warlock, if I cast a buff before the tank gets aggro, I can easily pull the MOB. So, casting short duration buffs (as well as taunts) during a fight, will that help hold on to aggro? Thanks,

Yes currently buffs will help you hold aggro. If I'm pulling I tend to cast my group atk skill buff while running back to the group, and the complete an HO to help lock aggro on me. Wards also generate a fair amount of aggro, I've used it combined with my taunts to get a mob off a group member. Start with ward then chain the taunts to get it back on me. Once the combat changes go live this same thing might not work though. And honestly it's a VERY bad design when classes have to use abilities for things other than their primary function. I should never ever have to use a buff to lock aggro. My taunt skills should get the job done otherwise there is a design flaw.

Yes and I have my doubts about that being changed correctly also. But that's just my memory of EQ1 talking. Yes I know this isn't EQ1, but old habits die hard. I see them bumping up our taunt ability, but also bumping up healer aggro generation and such. So we will be back to using our taunts + some other skills to keep pace. Honestly hope I'm wrong though and aggro generation is done correctly.
