I've explored Permafrost a little, and it's still a bit high for heroics at level 45.

Where else can I hunt for named or good XP at 45? Is there a decent zone in Echoes? (Butcherblock is too low, and lesser fay is a little too high.)

My Bruiser is my solo explorer, and as a Mystic main I use him as my primary release for aggression.. I love finding nameds and heroic groups I can kill, and that's mostly how I get AA's as well because I usually don't have time to do many quests.

Nothing beats Cazic Thule for exps at that level.  Also, Klak-Anon is great fun.

There is an instance at the end of crushbone keep that you can solo with a 45 bruiser. It is somewhat of a pain because there are quite a few greys to clear before you unlock the green con named but it is worth doing atleast once. I think it gives a guarenteed master just like Varsoon.

Sol eye is 45ish too, but might be a bit too high like Perma.Theres a zone called New Tunaria apparently. I've never actually zoned in, but according to the map its around 45.

New Tunaria: Entrance mobs are 50ish and it only goes up from there.Don't forget about Rivervale or Splitpaw zones.Listing of Solo Instances

I find the Sinking Sands, is great for your level. Carpet quest, Pillar Of Flames, Poets Palace a little later on. Overall i find this to be a the most fun prior to EoF..

DittoI started sinking Sands quests up front at 44 with my brig.  Should be able to do it at same if not sooner with your bruiser.  Good xp and $$$.  A duo of course would go quicker

Sinking sands with all the quests you can get is definetly the best solo exp from your level til about 49.

At 49/50 (depends on skill and equipment) you should go to Steamfont. There's a perfect cave there for heroic/named soloing. On the top of the map look for a red dot thats partially off the map (you'll know it when you see it) it's labeled Bulka Bloodhorn, there's also an instance inside the cave, though i forget the name. There's three named mobs in here and a ton of ^^^ with plenty of space to kill them in without worrying about adds. You can make a big circle between these three and get massive exp out of it. There's also a quest to kll Bulka Bloodhorn in Gnomeland Security, there's a wanted poster you have to click, be sure to grab it.

At 53 Klak`Anon is great, though you could go here sooner and solo the beginning stuff if you wanted to. The factory has those flying things in it which make for great exp at lower levels(47-9). There's ^^^ all over the zone you can solo and two different named mobs you can take down, one in the Factory and another in the commons area. Oh, and Gnomeland Security has a ton of quests for Klak as well.

At 55 Permafrost is another good soloing spot. With named and ^^^ mobs galore. Farming named mobs is easy in here, there's probably four named mobs you can take down,  and you can make a ton of cash in the process.

There are all great solo spots, though they dont allow alot of sleeping at the keyboard.

I play at weird times and have to solo way too much SMILEY i've been working on a soloing guide which ill post in the future. anyway, hope this helps

I looked back over my post and realized i kinda went past your level a little too much.

Rivervale has good solo exp at 46-48, if you follow the road left from the ent there's a group of dog looking things that are green and ^^^ that you can solo, a rare named will pop in here too.

If you folow the section of mountians behind runneyeye for a few hundred feet there's a named spider you can solo that will really test your abilities

But beyond that it's pretty much sinking sands. Solo content kinda lacks at this level really, a group in cazic thule will be your best exp overall til like 48/49

Thanks for the detailed info Ganeden! I'm wearing full mastercrafted (Plus Sumyd's Raiment of Undeath) and wielding the Fabled Staff of the Boar and using all Master 1 or Adept 3 abilities... I had to dump some money into my Bruiser at first from my 70 Mystic, but from about level 20 on he's furnished all his own funds and upgrades from soloing.

I can solo 41^^^'s at level 44-45, but Nameds need to be considerably lower usually.

I think I'll run through Splipaw so I can get my paw portal stone activated, then I'll check out Steamfont. (Maybe Cazic if I have a lot of time, I'm just not usually able to devote a large chunk of unbroken time to a group, so it gets tough.)
