I'm trying to find my place in the game. I was set on becoming Monk but after I discovered you could only be Monk if you betrayed Freeport, I was saddened. So my question is:

What is the difference between a Bruiser and a Monk?

Are their roles different? Do their moves / animations contain less finesse?

Thanks in advance.

The main gaming difference is that bruisers are a bit more offensive while monks are a bit more defensive.  However the difference is so slight few people ever notice.  As for play type the animations are very different as you get a little higher in level.  Around lvl 30 or so the difference becomes apparent.  Monks animations stay along the martial arts format with high spinning kicks and things like that.  Bruisers animations become things more along the lines of kickin someone in the [Removed for Content], choppin  em in the adams apple and then kneeing them in the head.

Other then the animations both classes wear the same armor, use the same weapons, and will fill the same roles in a group.  It basicly comes down to what race do you wanna be, good or evil, and whether or not you want that martial arts look at later levels.
