Mastery Drops

Last night while hunting with guildies, the first Mastery Book any of us had ever seen dropped. Miracle of miracles it was a Bruiser book, and guess who is the only Bruiser in the entire guild? :smileyhappy:

 

This got me wondering... How many of you have seen a Mastery Book (for any class) drop in your travels? And, if you have seen one, what was it, and where did it drop?

 

Mine was "Intimidating Orders"

It dropped off of some random mob of little note in Edgewater Drain while we were helping a guildie complete his AQ4.

That is our group attack buff which also boosts crushing. However, I noticed it gave everyone in the group over 100 more in AC as well :smileyhappy:

P.S. If you have never seen a Mastery drop, it is really neat. A chest appears like when you get a normal drop, but this chest is metal bound and half again larger than the sort of chest you would find an Adept drop in.

I saw one of the metal (uber) chests in Edgewater Drains and it too dropped a Mastery Spell, but sadly it was for a Guardian (Bury Master I).The only other metal uber chest I saw was on Beaver Island in Nektulos Forest and I forgot what it dropped as I didn't win.

The one Master 1 spell I have got was Earthly Brand (which I still have because no one wants it).  It came out of a large (normal looking) chest in the Commonlands, near the Ruins of Valmaar.

A long time ago I won the random in my group and got a Paladin master skill. I don't remember if I got it in FG or at Valmarr though. What is worse, I gave it to someone I had just happened to be grouped with becuase I didn't need it and had it for a few days. He was very thankful, but I didn't think it was that big a deal back then. Now I know how valuable Master level items are. Oh well.

I have seen a monk master 1 spell drop.  But ended up giving that to a friend who is a monk.... then he quit playing his monk... wonder if I can get that back. :robotmad:

I received Battle Fury (Master 1), off of an un-named Nightblood in Rivervale. This was about a week and a half ago and was a server first on Crushbone. It is the last in our long line of massive deflection increasing spells and also grants haste -- amazing.

I saw break through master 1.. i didnt get it because they said it was a monk ability. [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] sony, fix it already. I would have had a nice kick :robotmad:

I picked up a master 100 hand slap off the Broker some weeks ago, and also Master Blitz off broker.  I've been in group when Harm Touch (Edgewater), The level 30 Inquis buff (spiders in EL), and Deathly Pallor (Permafrost), have all dropped.

Level 50 and only seen 3 drop, right?  Geesh, talk about rare.  I've yet to see a single one, and only 1 guildy I know of for sure that has seen a Mastery drop.

Some one found 'Play Dead Master 1' in Nek.  He didn't say what mob droped it but he sold it to me for 25gp.  3% xp later, I got the skill

I have only been playing for a short time, ( 23 bruiser, teen toons created here and there) but we managed to get VERY LUCKY in the graveyard zone of all places.  We killed a couple of undead battlepriests and fighters or the like, and we saw a large chest to our surprise.  We received Master I Sneak.  It almost feels like some glitch that allowed that drop... Still havn't sold it, trying to sell it for a plat but no buyers... is it too pricey?

This from the Scout board:"At 17 you switch from sneak to your class sneak which is walk lightly. Walk lightly has a far higher skill level and cap than sneak will be so its time to make the switch to the upgraded version at 31 you will get the upgrade to walk lightly which again has higher skill caps and will get your by higher con mobs."So it sounds like the Sneak skill will "grey out" to people around level 20 for sure. This means that any upgrade to this ability will have no effect (if I remember correctly). A Scout class would have to be several levels lower than even 17 I imagine to utilize a Master I Sneek to its fullest potential. You will have a rough time finding a player with 1 plat that early; at least until uber-adventurers/crafters with lots of money start making alts. (they can share money right? Or, just as well, goods to sell for lots of money)

Definately too expensive atm for 99.5% of scouts, unless they got one heck of a bankroll from another toon. 

 

Can't share cash in bank, but that's what a trusted friend is for.  I wish it was just shared like the bottom slots, but oh well.

I picked up Master I Roundhouse (Level 47) off the Giants right outside the door to Solusek in Lavastorm.

LVL 41 and ive seen a master drop of any kind. Ive seen 4 masters at brokers..Whirling blaze 40gp..Bouncer..8gp..and grapple..20gp.I bought those.Saw 100hand slap for 89gp but was hesitant to buy it from black market and tried to get him to meet me in antonica. It got sold before i got there

I've seen 1 drop, was in Thundering Steppes off the skeletons near RoV, and it was a conjuror spell. Seen a few on brokers, nothing worth buying though.
