I must be missing something when it comes to FD'ing a grp thru a zone (SoS in specific). When working Claymore, groups are always pumped w/ a Monk in the group. "Awright, we can FD thru the zone"Here's how it usually goes. We head out, I start getting hit and drag the grp as far as we can go w/o me dying, then group FD. Ok, so far so good, only we are no where near where we are trying to get. So we get up, fight whatever is around us, and then I decide to disband from group, and pull a train again. Only, somehow, someone else will grab aggro as we are running, and die. We go back and fight whatever is in our way, and rinse/repeat. Is there a better way to do this? If you have a group who wants to FD their way thru SoS, what is yer strat?I'm just curious...

1. You have to tell them that they should not be too close to you when you stopped (rooted, opening doors etc.)2. You have to tell them FD is not 100% proof, can get wiped all together.3. You have to tell them that they should follow exact path of you, hugging walls etc. 4. You have to make sure that you are seen by every roamer or close-by NPC's, or someone following you might hit one of them because NPC did not see you but saw other while turning back.5. Get them Clear some rooms. Definitely. Solo, it might be your chance, but with group, it is tough, sometimes impossible with jampackked mobs. Rooms such as Weapon Armory. 6. Try FD on safer places and get group together behind you (so give some breaks, not run entire zone)7. Make sure you don't start running with Heal-over-time or reactive is active on you when started running or another player based benefical spell.8. Make sure you don't have any reactive damage spell on you, like Spikecoat or Thorns etc. of druids that has proc to damage or heal.9. Make sure to give breaks after going down in first level. Caster mobs can own you without following you in matter of seconds, if you have too many casters near by.

![]() I do this all the time, but I train while in a group. The key is that you should use the self fd and just keep moving. I personally only hold on to group fd for oh crap moments. Example: I have used fd and it didnt work, so I stand and depending on damage I have taken I wait on another fd or pop my group fd if things get hairy. I also use Will of the Heavens, outward calm, and heal during my run to prolong the distances I can run without needing to fd. What I will do sometimes is periodically fd to make sure all my group members are keeping up. I always end up with a few people who have a knack for pulling aggro and need to reinforce that they shouldn't be doing anything but following my path. I specifically remind healers to let me go without any reactives or heals whatsoever. Even if I die, I can get back to them faster solo, rather then running the whole lot of them down there again. I also ask the group to never pass me. If possible I will try to give them an idea of where I plan to fd as well. I also know SoS very well and this helps a lot as I know where mobs patrol and the layout of creatures in all the areas. I might suggest, if you dont know the zone that well, that maybe you run it solo a few times just to get a better idea of mob pathing and general placement. ![]() If you can defeat the content, why bother? By creating trains, the chances you kill yourself or your party are a lot higher than if you just work your way down. |

Fighting your way down to the gorg pit for the 200th time is not as fun as the first one.

pretty much as above, but also remember no wards can be active on you either. But as long as grp member stay behind and follow the same line then there should be no problems.
even if u get stunned and die b4 you can fd, as long as no one in grp makes any combat move or buffs etc then when u die the mobs will return to original location. Hopefully you will be in a safe place and get get a rezz from someone in your grp.
completely agree to other post about fd b4 training mobs past fighting people, i will stop and fd or even die rather than giving those grps like 30 mobs to play with at once. |

![]() The one concept that I've always stuck with when FD training groups through SoS or PoA comes from a brawler that posted this quite some time ago. Forgive my poor memory, as I can't recall his name, but his words still carry merit to my FD skills to this day: "Feign death before you need to... Not when you have to." -Courtesy feigns before you reach a group ahead of you should be expected. -Communication is key. -Ungrouping is not really necessary as long as you communicate well with the group - let's face it - a group FD is only good when you're in a group. :smileywink:

I just run thru stuff in defensive and feign when I take at least half damage. So long as you tell your group to not put any sort of heal on you, kill pets/set to follow only and to not go ahead of you, you're golden. Can train all the way to the bottom without a problem and without having to feign more than once. Just remember to ward thru reavers, and if you have stupid groupmates, either kick them or purposely run into anything they could possibly aggro

While training some guildies deep into SoS for Claymore I was quite annoyed that one of them would get aggro constantly even though she supposedly didnt do anything and i had aggro on the mob first. Then we discovered that her weapon had a proc that had a chance to go off every time she got hit by an AoE, which cause her to get aggro when we were training. So remember to check that as well

![]() I've trained many fair adventurers through many zones, especially SoS. I've always done it for free, but I should have really gotten rich off it. I use a Macro outlining the rules of FD training which I spam at folks who don't get it the first time.
1. No reactive buffs or procs. If you are unsure, do not buff. 2. I will try to aggro everything, however pay attention and don't get any aggro. 3. Do not run ahead of the Monk. 4. Do not attack anything unless it is clear I am attacking. I only attack when you get agg or we see a named. 5. When I FD, stand on top of me. 6. If FD fails, do not heal me or fight. Takes 10 sec. to reset. |

Excellent info! Thanks all! I think the biggest issue was heals and procs...I will make sure that I mention these in future runs =)
