Hi guys.

I've recently gotten to 70 with my monk, and I dont have a lot of times where I can play in streches of more than 60 minutes, so I rarely have time to get in a group to advance my quests these days.

So I'm considering making an alt, and would like to be able to solo quests with this new alt like I've been able to do most of the time with my monk.

The reason for posting in the monk forum is that you guys know how we solo, so maybe you have tried simular with an alt of your own.

So, does anyone have a good suggestion as to a soloable class for an alt?

Bruiser or Swashy should be to your likings mate. Swashies have all the nice scout stuff, plus is more of a toe to toe Scout with great DPS ect...or Brigand, which is at the moment the uber Toon soon to be adjusted.

But Swaahies can Track a mob you want, Stealth to it and kill it. If all goes wrong, you have evac!:smileysurprised:

My monk, which is only level 40, is actually my alt.  My main is a level 70 conjuror and I can tell you that while monks are awesome soloers, my conjuror could level much easier and faster because they drop mobs incredibly fast.  So in answer to your question, I would go for either a conjuror or necro if you really want to be self-sufficient and solo effectively.

My monk has been 'maxxed out' skillwise for a while as well.  Our raid alliance has a shortage of dps, so I looked at different scout classes to see if there would be something I could enjoy playing to aid the effort.  After playing a troub to t5, an assassin to t4, and a  brigand to t5, I have found rogues to have a very similar play feel to brawlers.  I am thoroughly enjoying my brigand as I get him leveled up to join the raid force.  If you like the feel of the monk but want something that has more offense while sacrificing little to no defense, try a brig or a swash.  You basically give up most of your taunts and aggro control, but get high damage postitional attacks and debuffs in return.  If you really miss being a full-on tank, you can take the stamina AA line to gain an aoe taunt, even better defenses, and a passive hate proc similar to what guardians have where you proc hate on a mob when it hits you.  Even without this line, a rogue has potent defenses and several taunts and other abilities for mainting aggro on single targets.

If you want to try something that has a completely different play feel from what you are used to, I would recommend trying a summoner as was suggested above.  I personally think brawlers and rogues are the most versatile classes and make for great soloing as a result.  I have a few good friends who have played both summoners and they also love their characters.  I dont think either choice is better than the other from the standpoint of the classes, as your playstyle and the feel you like will determine which is best for you.
