PvP and my new monk, some questions...

Some background: I have played many MMO's, and consider myself to be a fair player. I have just recently come from a WoW pvp server, and being a bit disgruntled with the end game, I decided I needed a breath of fresh air. Enter Everquest 2.The FAQ at the top of this page for monks has proved extremely helpful, but I have some additional questions. It is possible that I may have missed an answer in the FAQ, and if you would point me in the right direction, I'd be more than greatful.First off, I am level 13 and I haven't even left the city. I decided I was going to do all the quests I came upon before I left the walls of Qeynos, but there are so many that I don't think I will last too much longer. The siren's call of battle sings to me even now. So with all that out of the way, my questions....1. I only ever see adept I's for sale, and I hear lots of talk about Adept III's and Masters. Are these not available to lower levels? And are they worth the investment at lower levels if you can find them?2. Prices on PvP servers seem to be a tad bit... high. Where should I be looking for gear?3. What tradeskills do some of the more experienced PvP'ers recommend?4. Are resists important at lower levels?5. What AA's do people think work best from a PvP perspective? The Stamina line and Wisdom line look espcially tasty... more hit points and more resists is never a bad thing.6. What stats on gear are the most important to you?I know, I know. Lots of questions with a dash of newbiness thrown in. I also forgot to ask, when should I pick up the expansions and adventure packs? I've heard some people say 35+ for DoF, but I've heard nothing about the other options.

You'll need KoS for the Achievements so get that at 20 if you want to make it wait.

Best to get DoF as soon as possible unless you're unsure of if you want to level past 50 SMILEY

KoS looks like Feerrott only up in the sky, well.. Tenebrae Tangle anyway. Not explored much beyond the lowbie areas up there as my highest char is 63.

DoF is nice though, but they brought out KoS too quick in my opinion and alot of people are going to skip alot of things due to leveling being easier and people thinking... well if I got a few more levels I could get...

I'm talking about the 4.99 and 7.99 packs, if they don't have anything worth getting, I don't want to buy them. ;-p

Splitpaw is available since lvl 20 and it gives you an additional taunt I think...Bloodlines gives you Devastation Fist (instant-kill, 5 min recast, but you end up stunned for 30 sec and it can only be used against even or lower con non-heroic mob) and the Blood Drenched GiYou can start bloodlines at lvl 35 (not sure).

Hi Gerhault,

For my Monk 2 little ideas were very usefull:

1- As a Alchemist i´m crafting my App 4 and Adept III for my own Use ( on a PvP Server selling Poisons to all the Scouts is even a nice Yummy :smileyvery-happy: )

2-Harvesting! Harvesting! Harvesting! By selling Collectibles ( Bones ) and Rares i´m hitting 3 Platin on level 26 and found enough Rares to push my spells to 80% Adept III by the way

Good Money means good Gear and Spells...the rest is on You :smileywink:

Adept III are playermade, you would need to seek a "scholar" up to lvl 20 and 20+ you will need to seek an alchemist, to get these made. There will be slim chance of these popping up on the broker because they require a rare to make and most crafters don't make the investment to obtain a rare and make these spells just for sale; it is usually all done custom order. Master I spells drop mostly from named heroic mobs and raids, and very rarely trash mobs. They pop up from time to time, but they are a considerable investment and typically early on, get outlevelled- Your best investment would be in some decent weapons, if you plan to level up relatively quickly, I would wait until 30s before spending the coin on rares.

2. Prices on PvP servers seem to be a tad bit... high. Where should I be looking for gear?

Harvest nodes :smileyhappy: Seriously though, there's some pretty decent armor in the early levels thru the Caves quests and then in the 20s in your AQs, and even some halfway decent stuff in Zek/EL for the 30s, but you won't get better than 'average'. Above and beyond that, harvesting raws and using them/selling them and getting rares to be made into legendary weapons/armor/spells is a pretty efficient way to make coin and upgrade same time. Other method would be farming named mobs. In PvP either of these are dangerous obviously- at least with harvesting you have an entire zone, farming named- everyone knows where they are :smileyindifferent:

3. What tradeskills do some of the more experienced PvP'ers recommend?

Tailoring will be pretty lucrative if you can stand it.. Make your own armor, hex dolls, bags.. you make the armor etc for all Mages, Druids and Brawlers- even some scouts grab leather because the price difference on rare pelts and rare metal is significant enough for the difference the mitigation sacrifice is almost not worth it. Provisioner as well, provided you either harvest a bunch or have some money to drop on the food raws (typical ingrediants for the higher duration drinks usually are pretty high on broker)

4. Are resists important at lower levels?

Resists are always important, but early on it's difficult to actually do much about it- most gear can't provide enough resists to really shine, typical sets will take care of most things. In PvP however, being good side- if you do come across some nice boosts to disease resists that will help quite a bit vs. Freeport; a lot of their spells are disease based. Wisdom will be the bigger benefit at this point, I wouldn't focus entirely on it, but don't go running out there with 20 :smileytongue:

5. What AA's do people think work best from a PvP perspective? The Stamina line and Wisdom line look espcially tasty... more hit points and more resists is never a bad thing.

Stamina line is very nice for PvP, more HP, stamina debuff on initial contact (Mantis Star), the final ability helps with one of the difficulties- runners. There is also no significant weapon requirements so until you get settled in you can mix around.

6. What stats on gear are the most important to you?

Strength, Stamina, Wisdom. Mitigation is big though- think twice about sacrificing mitigation for a point or two here and there.

At level 20 you can start using Splitpaw, low 30s to use Bloodlines. You need to get Bloodlines for Devastation Fist (Deathtouch to non-heroics and more importantly Necromancer pets :smileywink: ) That aside Splitpaw is a great way to get yourself some experiance solo in a pretty safe way- all the zones are instanced except the Den. Trial of Harclave is basically a free 16-18% experiance once a level (and only once), when you hit 30 for invis totems. DoF you wouldn't really use until after level 40. KoS you can make use of one particular thing even now- The Spire to Kingdom of Sky in Antonica. When you use it, you arrive in Tenebrous Tangle, at this point if you use it again you can goto either Antonica or Commonlands. This allows you to bring your PvP action right to the enemy's house without dying some obscene amount of times in Nektulos Forest. That aside, the KoS content you would probably not use until level 50+.
