![]() Let me start by saying I consider myself a tanking Monk, so I'm not overly concerned with trying to compete with the true DPS classes on a damage front. I'm more concerned with making the most of my avoidance, mitigation, hps, and resists. In looking over the rare harvest T7 crafted gear, I was really excited to learn that there was going to be 'Brawler oriented' leather armor. However, having taken in the whole picture... I have my doubts about this armor. Let's just say I decided not to wear my Queen's Carapace, or my Manacles of the Dark Sky, Boots of Bashing, Coolie Hat, what have you... and I was outiftting myself with rare crafted gear. I'm going to start with jewelry first here, to bring home my point about the armor... Acrylia jewelry is +23 each to STR, AGI, and STA, so I'm going to gear up with that in my jewelry slots. Let's even argue that I'm going to keep on using the tride and true FBSS for the haste, so I've got 6 slots of that jewelry, netting me 138 in each of these stats. This leaves me really torn on the leather armors then... with identical resists and mitigation, the difference between the 'Druid' woven dragonhide and the 'Brawler' Desxtrous Dragonhide are either +20ea to WIS/STA or +20ea to STR/AGI. Now I think we'd all agree that Strength is a great thing for a monk, but to be honest it's the easiest stat to get additional buffs for in your groups, and I think most of us already have Strength far outpacing our other stats. The returns on agility are really lackluster, and we're starting to see a lot more items with +deflection and defense that we have available to use. This really has me considering purchasing the woven 'Druid' armor for any T7 rare armor I might purchase, to help add some hps and resists from wisdom into the mix... Thoughts? Ideas? Comments?

![]() The woven stuff would be better for tanking, given the 3 choices. 20 stamina alone is a nice HP boost, and multiply that by each slot and you're talking about several hundred additional hit points. This is just comparing the 3 types of rare leather, mind you. Being that the mitigation on them are pretty weak, you'd probably still want to shoot for at least legendary pieces (when appropriate) for tanking.

![]() And to follow that up, stamina is probably the most difficult to stat to raise through buffs, unless you're always with a shaman or necro. A lot of classes have strength buffs of some sort and a lot have agility buffs of some sort. |

![]() My thinking exactly... I understand where you're coming from on the mitigation too... problem is most of those legendary pieces with good mitigation have little or no resists. The resists available on the rare crafted gear make them attractive despite the lower mitigation... Hopefully some of the higher end legendary gear and fabled items in T7 have got more of both for us. (= The Queen's Carapace is a good example of this, with 333 mitigation and two very high resists. Even if it is... um peuce? Message Edited by Rrawl on 03-09-200605:39 PM
