Ok... the description of this skill confuses me completely. Being a 50 monk and all, I never really use this skill, but the other day during a raid everyone was asked if they had any "hate gain buffs" and the description of this one confused me completely.

![]() I offer two answers to this: 1) From experience, it "feels" like it keeps hate down (whether it be used on yourself or someone else). 2) If you have the upgrade to it, it says "increases hate gain by 0%." This brings into question exactly how hate works. Taunts have an actual quantifier to them, Threat. Let's say all abilities have a hidden "Threat" increase to them. Like... a heal that gives 100 threat. I'm going to guess that Tranquil Blessing is supposed to have an X% chance of making the "threat increase" of an ability be 0. The description itself is misleading since it makes it sound like it increases hate by 1%. However, my "guess" at #2 is based on my already biased point of view that from my experience, Tranquil Blessing does lower hate "somehow."

I think the display on the spell's examine info is just buggy.

![]() Dunno, Lu'Sun's Healing Touch does exactly what it says in the examine text, even though that partially contradicts the description.

after having read your #2 guess i think it works like this... using your example of "threat" or "hate" gain in taunts, it's clear that they add a certain number of hate to you, i.e. taunting slap generates 100 or so (i don't remember the actual number) hate each time it's used on a single mob. we also know that our healers generate some hate with their heal spells/buffs. so if a heal spell generates 100 hate, then maybe tranquil blessing makes the caster gain a percentage of the normal hate generated. your heal exampe would normally give 100 hate points to the healer, but with TB cast on them the hate is calculated as 100 (example) * 1% (per TB descrip) = 1. the healer would still gain hate but only 1% of what it normally is. i could be totally wrong on this of course. my other theory is that we gain an extra x% of hate each time the person TB is cast upon does something that generates hate. or the descrip could just be buggy lol.

![]() i take the actual description of this technique to mean that the hate gain caused by the blessed party will not excede 1% meaning that if a mage nukes that the hate gain will be 1% of what it would actually cause. I have found this to be an invaluable tool for tanking or even just as a dps to help the MT out. If you get into a situation where FD won't svae you try using it on yourself and watch when the tank taunts it off you first try. |
