Currently, Zerkers are exactly what I want to play. I have a high level paladin, but am bored with him and was bored with the server I was on. I started on a new server with a fiew old friends and Zerker seemed to fit the tank role for small groups perfictally. However, people in-game keep telling me zerkers are going to get horribly nerfed, this doesn't make me to excited to go beserker on my new warrior toon. Should I be scared of going zerker? Or should I hop on it?

To be honest, the nerf is going to [Removed for Content] off mostly the people who like to really crunch the numbers. It's mainly affecting our auto-attack melee dps. If your intent while playing is to be the tank for a small group of friends, then Berserker is more then suitable for the job.

If on the other hand you want to be the most uberest defensive tank to play the game, make a guardian.

In the future there will be only 4 classes. tank, dps, healer and buffer. So whatever choice you make it will only equal one of these. People hate all tanks in this game. So SOE is going to make them lovable by taking away their dps and giving them nothing but taunts and auto attack.

Well, went beserker yesterday. Up to level 23 now. I personally am enjoying it right now. I hope if they do nerf the numbers the maintain the "feel" of the class. However, when I was doing the profession quest, it asked me if i wanted to be an offensive or defensive warrior. What will it say after they nerf? Do you want to be a defensive warrior or a defensive warrior?

No no, they still feed us the bull[expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] that we are offensive warriors. They tell us our DPS is going to be great, but ONLY when we are tanking. Little things the book, the trainer, [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] NOBODY told us who picked berserker up until news of this combat patch. I picked berserker to do damage, tank when needed. Now I'll be a tank, and pretend to damage if I squint really hard at the screen and ignore the numbers I see. It's kind of sucky to play a class for almost a year, then get it completely changed on you. Can I have a /change_to_scout option and not have to re-level an entire new class to 50... wait no 60 in a month, just so I can do the damage I am used to doing? Can I have ANYTHING, or do you just plan on taking [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] away from us and saying "deal with it." Congrats.

Couldn't agree with you more. I am willing to bet they will lose more people over this than gain. Berserker is a very popular class and we are totaling getting nerfed. There is no way I am going to lvl another toon, I have a 50 Coercer too(I am also very dissapointed in the changes to him). I am hoping to find another game to play since I won't be playing EQ2 anymore after the revamp goes live.

Does anyone have any positive input about the upcoming changes to berserker?

I get the impression that the class is going to become less of a DPS dealer and more like the guardian. Are combat moves being kicked up to maintain the damage flavor or is it just getting nerfed? Is the class too powerful to begin with?

Any thoughts?

I'd wager that some scouts would have positive input about the upcoming changes to berserkers, but that's probably not what you meant.

If you're looking for a light at the end of the tunnel, the best I can offer is that the changes haven't been finalized, and there could be surprises in every test patch during the next month.  Yes, we'll be less of a DPS dealer, but no, we're not really gaining anything on the Guardians, as far as I can tell.

I completely agree with you. The fact that SOE told players, via the website and handbook, what type of class the berserker is and now is completely changing how we operate tells me that we should get a change profession option. Not to mention the fact that we will be completely worthless in raids since we can't tank like a guardian and we won't be able to DPS worth [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] so why would you even be considered in joining a raid party. I also plan to leave the game after this update.

I also haven't seen anything regarding an increase in our taunt potency, and if you nerf our dps as much as they will, then we will have a difficult time keeping aggro.

Really sad situation, i've looked over the new "combat" patches, and it looks like a game killer. I think they will loose a ton of subcribers personally.
