raging strike explanation

can somebody please explain raging strike , it says that it lowers my dps and was wondering if it just meant that the ability itself is fairly low damage or if it actually does decrease my attack speed or damage output while activated , i use it for the chance to berserk and haven't really noticed a difference in dps but was just curious. any help would be appreciated.

I actually have the same question... been wondering this myself, because a few other skills that we have that say they lower our damage actually make it fairly clear (ie. Stiffled rage and the 20% attack rate decrease)...

I also would like to know the % chance to go beserk... at 29, i feel like i have very few skills that increase my chance to go beserk when i'm NOT the main tank, but i'm hesitant to use raging strike because a) I don't notice my damage or attack rate being decreased, but that doesn't mean it's not or by how much... and b) i don't always go into rage when i use this skill, so sometimes it feels useless...

Some clarification would be nice...

It's a taunt. The other effects seem to be a wash as far as damage is concerned.

Oh... almost forgot. It is almost guaranteed to make you go berserk. So, it is nice for those styles that you have to be berserk to perform.

I don't think it's a taunt...

does it even complete our solo HO's?... never noticed it blinking before.

Just to help you here, I have raging strike adept 1. I am not sure if it decrease the damage just for one attack or full duration, but it is supposed to make you berserk, it doesn't because the skill is broken for now. But when SOE will fix it, it will make you go berserk.

I think you may want to check again Crow, it does make you go berserk. At least it did before yesterday's big patch. I will verify again today, but again the berserk effect is working. I also *think* that the taunt effect it's supposed to have isn't there. I've never taunted a mob off of someone with it. I agree also with a previous poster that the damage lowering is a wash. I can check all this later.

Yes, when not MT, not going berserk is very frustrating. That is what I use this abiliity for, very few other things, unless I am soloing somethign tough, so I can go berserk right away. IF I am MT, it is not used at all, focus rage does the trick for me.

I hear we get an ability that makes you go berserk when the group is attacked (% chance), that would be a nice addition.

ragging strike is a damaging taunt that adds a buff to u. the buff last 30 seconds, and decreases ur dmg a bit while giving u a 10% chance to go berserk on each succesful hit,

nice ability, i dont notice any dmh decrease really

stifle rage is a main tank use only, it stacks with soldiers stance too. thats alot of bonus defense to help u avoid.
